All the things everyone else said were exactly our thoughts from here in Michigan too. "There's just something about these boats"!!! I wish I lived closer to help fill orders. I NEED your new book and will definitely email and get on a pre-order list. Yay! Thank you for ALL you do Kevin... in videos, production, explainations of equipment, commentary, and Drone skills too. Whew! Take Care! Kim & Ken
Another great video Kevin. Loved the winner’s story…. It touched me. I understand how he feels about how your videos touch his life. They are soothing and informative as well as a colorful documentary of the beauty of the lakes and surrounding areas. Put my name on one of your upcoming books, definitely want one to put on my coffee table!! Take care of yourself my friend. 😙
Another great video, Kevin. I'm on The Lake in Ludington, Michigan and watch the freighters go by 5-10 miles out all season long so it's always a treat to see them up close. If you ever find yourself in Sault Ste. Marie the decomissioned freighter SS Valley Camp has been turned into a museum about 2 miles east of the locks in downtown Sault Ste. Marie. She's a smaller freighter (about 550 feet long) and you have access to pretty much the entirety of the ship and can explore at your leisure. The cargo hold has been converted to a multi-story museum full of exhibits about maritime history on The Great Lakes. It's a well spent afternoon after watching ships go throuigh the locks.
Congratulations, Joshua. 😀. I agree with you Kevin, there is definitely something about these boats that make them so intriguing. I've felt the same way since I was a very young boy, in the mid '60s, spending numerous hours watching them lock through at the Welland Canal here in Ontario.
Great video Kevin. Congratulations to the winner. Love your adventures. We went to Kewaunee Wisconsin and Duluth and Two Harbor's MN. Last year. It isn't to far being from Central Wisconsin.
Ice troll face! I love it! It reminded me of the illustrations in Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Tings Are" that's why I chose that image. Great minds, thinking alike, Kris!
Excellent footage as always! Sounds like the photo went to a deserving winner (and his son). I wonder what’s on that extra level of the Burns Harbor that isn’t on her sisters. Perhaps a bowling alley and a health spa. 🙂
I enjoyed your video. A year ago, to watch Burns Harbor come in, unfortunately, they stopped and came in the next day. Can't wait for the book and website for your photos.
Hi Kevin, thank you for these videos. I live in Chicago and these same boats pass through my "back yard" a few miles from my apartment constantly. However, I rely on folks like you, Paul, and the streams to get a closer look and learn more about the history. Keep up the good work and good luck with the book.
Hi Kevin. Thanks for all you do with the ships. Kind of disappointing this year with so few ships entering the ship canal. Oh well. Your photo contest winner is originally from central Ohio. That's kind of neat as I was born and raised there too. And I'm still here. Small world. Anyway, you are very talented in so many facets of art......photography, writing, drawing, video/composition/narration. Keep up the good work my friend.
Another great video. I first came to your videos with the 2023 Winter Layups really late in my life. I have been a "boat nerd" since I was about 10 when my cousin had a cottage on the Chesapeake Bay and also a bay built boat for fishing, and shopping in Anapolis, MD and going out when all the grads from the Naval Academy were put on ships ranging from destroyers to battleships. Very exciting for a kid to be boating amongst these ships. I come to Lakers late in life and through a friend who lived on the water outside Detroit. This is a long email to let you know that I am thrilled that you are going to have some of your "emotional" photos for sale... maybe. Probably too late for me now as I am living with prostate cancer but will look forward to your new book and web site. Thanks again for providing me with a chance to experience Door County.

Having your videos on You Tube is a win for all your viewers and especially your subscribers.

I love that you chose to focus on that “ice troll face” that formed on the Burns Harbor. Yup! That was perfect description of the day she came in.
