My friend, I just don’t see how you are so happy and proud of this journey. Rolex and the AD’s are just such horrible and arrogant people. Rolex watches are not rare, they produce up to 1 million pieces each year. They pretend it is very exclusive but it’s simply not true. They present their watches in a way that customer have to beg like dogs just to buy their super expensive watches. All that simply is so off putting to me that I will never buy a Rolex watch. There are many other brands out there with equal if not better quality watches

I'm planning to drop about 10k to get an engagement ring for my fiancee. I went into this one jeweler / Authorized Rolex dealer to see If I could be promised to get a black submariner if I make a purchase. The AD told me I could get a black sub within 6 months and with that, I left the store. Now I'm actually more attracted towards the kermit or the pepsi. Do you guys think I have enough leverage to negotiate for either kermit or pepsi? I'm gonna revisit probably day after tomorrow. What do you guys think?

Wonderful video :) I also have the same mindset with my local AD and see this relationship as a real long term one. Beside the buying experience, it's always a pleasure to have a chat with them and I often stay more than one hour in the shop, even if I don't buy anything.
I just picked up my BLNR from an AD, everything you said about going though an AD vs grey markets is the exact way I felt. To be the only owner of this watch, with the pickup date on the warranty card, with all the videos…. Once in a lifetime experience! Also I love the content

In my collection, Rolex is cheap junk. I was impressed with them, when I was in college, but I have learned much by now. I have written five books about watches with several updated editions of each book. Today, I wear an A. Lange & Sohne tourbillon watch that I bought in 2017 for 3.39 times the cost of Rolex's costliest watch now. My oldest watches are 1893 Patek Philippe, 1902 Vacheron Constantin, 1914 IWC, 1926 Patek Philippe, 1933 Vacheron Constantin, 1946 Longines, 1952, 1953 & 1956 LeCoultres, 1970 Omega, 1975 Omega and 1979 Piaget. Rolex spends practically twice as much on ads as Breitling who placed 2nd in money spent on ads. As far as I am concerned, you wasted your time.

Here I was assuming that you'd take a quick flight to Europe from here in Dubai, but going to the states, congrats, I think the Pepsi GMT function was probably made for journeys like this.
I am sure my videos on my channel on my watches had a high input on starting my relationship with my AD too. Good going for sure by you. Good you got into 🇺🇸 too. No problems with them stopping travellers? Tell them about my channel and experience too :) I don't want a watch from them its just nice that dealers know there are genuine watch collectors out there. I had exactly same experience too. Others were trying to flog me an explorer 2 as my second watch and some criticised my dealer for taking so long to get me a polar. Good job I stuck with my dealer :)
Got my pepsi this year also...my dream watch too, i will go to rolex waikiki dis sunday to try the new models, and who knows the manager says he have surprise for me.
I will be moving to Hawaii from Bulgaria to become a real estate agent in a few months and I’m staying up until 5-7am every night for the past weeks to do real estate wholesale deals there. I’m still in a beginner level but in the next few months I would like to put together enough money to buy a small one bedroom condo there and a Rolex Submariner Date. I do want the watch for myself and not as a flip but it would be much more than that! I want to feel a sense of safety every time I look down at my wrist that would tell me “everything will be okay, even if you run out of money, you have $16,000 to let you keep going”. I hope to pass that watch down to my children and not have to sell it but it’s good to know I would have it as a safety net (Hopefully. Anyone know any good wholesale deals?)
Good news for you but as you have highlighted many of us simply cannot get a new Rolex from and AD. I have been trying here in France for two years now. Recently one AD promised me in writing that if I send him a deposit of €2000 he would order me a new OP 41mm in Turquoise. I sent him the money and then he backed out saying he couldn't order me any watch as they have to wait to see what Rolex send them. Bizarre! I got my money back of course so I went to the AD in Bordeaux with what was basically a pleasant begging letter. He smiled, took the letter and I left the shop. I doubt I will get one. In the meantime I have ordered a new Tudor Double Date for delivery pre Christmas and today bought a basic Longines Spirit in black 40mm for day to day wear. I also have a BB58 Blue which I like a lot. Enjoy your watches but what you have shown and proved to me is that there is no decent and fair way for ADs to treat customers who wish to order.
I think there are many many factors that come to their mind to whom and when they allocate a watch. I definitely learned a lot especially recently after going through every detail why I got the watch. I may put it in a video together in the near future :). It is obviously not the case that I just got randomly the call.
Congratulations on getting the watch you wanted. It's crazy, I know that exact store you went to and I have never had a good relationship with the sales people from them. Also Blanco Tacos pretty good. But, did you see the sights in the city?
I got my pepsi last year from my AD in Dallas, i also love this watch. My AD. In Dallas for 40 yr's has made every shopping experience great. Love your pepsi!
Rolex and all other watch makers that create this shortage in supply are making it to me as a passionate watch lover with a budget impossible to buy this or any other watch.. but for asswholes with a unlimited money supply that dont give a damm fuck about a watch but just want to have it to impress people.. very poor but true story! Others were trying to flog me an explorer 2 as my second watch and some criticised my dealer for taking so long to get me a polar. Good job I stuck with my dealer :)

I will be moving to Hawaii from Bulgaria to become a real estate agent in a few months and I’m staying up until 5-7am every night for the past weeks to do real estate wholesale deals there. I’m still in a beginner level but in the next few months I would like to put together enough money to buy a small one bedroom condo there and a Rolex Submariner Date. I do want the watch for myself and not as a flip but it would be much more than that! I want to feel a sense of safety every time I look down at my wrist that would tell me “everything will be okay, even if you run out of money, you have $16,000 to let you keep going”. I hope to pass that watch down to my children and not have to sell it but it’s good to know I would have it as a safety net (Hopefully. Anyone know any good wholesale deals?)

Good news for you but as you have highlighted many of us simply cannot get a new Rolex from and AD. I have been trying here in France for two years now. Recently one AD promised me in writing that if I send him a deposit of €2000 he would order me a new OP 41mm in Turquoise. I sent him the money and then he backed out saying he couldn't order me any watch as they have to wait to see what Rolex send them. Bizarre! I got my money back of course so I went to the AD in Bordeaux with what was basically a pleasant begging letter. He smiled, took the letter and I left the shop.
I doubt I will get one.
In the meantime I have ordered a new Tudor Double Date for delivery pre Christmas and today bought a basic Longines Spirit in black 40mm for day to day wear. I also have a BB58 Blue which I like a lot.
Enjoy your watches but what you have shown and proved to me is that there is no decent and fair way for ADs to treat customers who wish to order.
I think there are many many factors that come to their mind to whom and when they allocate a watch. I definitely learned a lot especially recently after going through every detail why I got the watch. I may put it in a video together in the near future :). It is obviously not the case that I just got randomly the call.

Rolex and all other watch makers that create this shortage in supply are making it to me as a passionate watch lover with a budget impossible to buy this or any other watch.. but for asswholes with a unlimited money supply that dont give a damm fuck about a watch but just want to have it to impress people.. very poor but true story!
