Great video. Can you comment on time of year to do this. July and August is when they have their babies and are nesting. If you seal them in the babies can die so it's better to wait in until later in the year. Also there are bat houses you can place on your property or outside of your house to encourage them to stick around and eat insects and mosquitos.
When I contacted bat conservationist from the Wisconsin DNR site today he said that now (late August, definitely after the 15th) is a really good time to do this process. The pups should be independent at this point and the bats are still active enough to safely evict without the possibility of them hunkering down for hibernation. It varies by state, but your state's DNR is a wonderful resource.
My husband! Naturally- classic women on table screaming- very old house and every summer we can't figure out how- my guy has had to kill ( we don't want them around the yard- pets, kids, rabies you know how people are! ) A few yrs ago we had 4 in 1 year and they are frightening. Thanks for your info. I had no idea size wise because obviously "Dracula" doesn't scope in when you let the dog out! Is it likely if there is one, there is another then? Crikey. I am having my fascia fixed today. My Siamese cats are mousers- I am a Buddhist and don't kill anything, nope not the snails in my garden, I love the eco chain, like you do, you keep them in their area for their lifespan, to eat mosquitoes etc. Thanks for a really informative video. Esp about the guano- NAMASTE, from Canada, now where did I leave the Batmobile! Z.
So there are some plastic premade ones online but I like to use cloth. It's much easier to work with and it allows you to cover the vent then just create a funnel about 24" long at the bottom for them to fly out. We use a roll of weed block it's cheap and easy to work with.
How can you confirm that bats are all out ? I feel I can DIY this myself I have video of bats coming and going from a gable vent. I was charged $150 evaluation fee and quoted $1500 for exclusion.
How we do it is we leave the one way door open for at least 2 weeks, that ensures they have all left because they cant go longer then that without food and water.
@@goldminerpestwhen it’s close to the Fall in Vermont not sure when I will be able to install the one way door will I need to wait to Remove the one way door next spring in April
@@lakeville1853 So whether they have left for hibernation for the winter or not I would just leave the one way door there for 2-weeks. That way even if some are still in the structure they would have to of left the structure for food or water. If you leave the one way door there all winter especially if its the fabric like we use it could start to deteriorate or weather could open holes in the fabric and allow the bats to get back inside.
If my big house were not out in the woods, where would all these bats go? They have infested my attic. I can smell them during the summertime. To me they are the worst thing that could have happened to my house besides a fire. It's expensive to get the insulation torn out and redone. What a freaking mess.
The building i live in and (rent) is absolutely infested with Bats and my landlord/owner who lives in the building as well wont do anything about it....what are my options besides moving??? No exaggeration when i say piles of guano end up on his front step if he doesn't sweep it every single day!
When I was 19 years old during a month of September that I accidentally let in 2 bats. I came home afternoon and found one bat under the blind to the dinning room table. I pushed the bat out with a hair spray bottle. The 2nd bat came out while I was cooking my dinner. I put my dinner in the microwave oven so the bat won’t get it. I grabbed my father’s fishing net and block the door entrance to my bedroom. In one swoop that I caught the bat in the net. I flipped the net once to not have the bat escape inside the house. I flipped it back so the bat flew away into the woods unharmed it. I even talked to my parents afterwards. They both laughed at what had happened to me. Even using the fishing net was a good idea. My mother had 4 bats inside of the house at one time. We didn’t have a fishing net. We used the lids to these containers to have them go outside. Even my mother had a bat inside of the house over 10 years ago. My mother screamed for me. I used a broom for getting the bat out. I didn’t wore my glasses or even my contacts. I got it outside closing the patio door from the house into the enclosed back porch and out from another patio door towards the outside. I did closed all of the bedroom doors and even the main bathroom door across from one of the bedrooms. My mother was in her bedroom with her little dog. I told her the bat is out of the house. I think it was a day or 2 that my mother spotted another bat. I didn’t see it.
I think we have bats. I keep seeing little tiny turds in the corner of the porch. Every year it happens. We tried trail cams and didn't capture any images. I can't see any openings between the siding and brick and fashia, not even a tiny one. I'm stumped and frustrated.
I ONCE HAD A BAT IN MY ROOM ONCE AND IT FREAKING 😨 SCARY 😨 AND I DONT LIKE BATS AND MY DUMB ASS MOTHER DONT BELIEVE ME THAT BATS CAN GET INTO AIR VENTS 😤
He left an exit so the bats inside can leave. You don’t want to trap them inside. Putting the black piece of cloth there prevents the bats from coming in. They wouldn’t know how to crawl up and find their way inside.
Ive seen droppings that I assumed were from rodents. Today, I found a bat (thought it was a tiny quail that was frozen). Turns out it was alive and it opened its eyes a did a high pitch scream. Wondered what a bat was doing in the daylight. I didnt touch him, but scooted him into a newspaper lined box. Anyway to know if hes sick. Should I call wildlife? Or you. Im in Dayton Nv
I thought we have bed bugs, turns out their bat bugs which is still just as bad!!! We're having someone come to our house today to figure out how to get rid of the bats, im hoping the bat bugs will leave too when the bats are gone.
Won't new ones just find another way in next year and then you're out thousands of dollars every year calling in the bat removal guys???? We used a sonic sound machine in our attic, got our soffits repaired...worked for 2 years and cost a lot less than this. We now have bats again (they are getting in under our roof shingles) so it's time to replace the sound machines. (I was wondering how long they would last). Our house is a 2 story victorian with a HUGE attic and I'm sure more entry places than I can count or even contemplate trying to seal up. I'm also sure removal would cost over $10k for us.
You need to seal the entire house from the outside, you can not just do one spot like they show in the video, bats will find another way to enter the same house. Having the entire house bat-proof is the only way to go. I'm an NWCOA-certified bat control
Some pest companies or bat guys charge 2500 to 4800...for what? Add some mess and seal it up...done. why do companies charge so much and then charge extra for cleaning up the poop.
Because alotnof times there are more than one entry point that takes an expert to get up all over the roof and inspect and DIAGNOSE exactly where and when, + to give a warranty…. Ya it’s not as simple as this video always….
Don’t build bat house I do this type of work...what happens when the bat house fills up?they go right back into your house. When this dude says it’s good to keep them in the area he means they are going to the neighbors house good for you bad for you.

If you killed them in my country, you’d be having a very long conversation with the police.

Can you recommend a premade one way door I can order online
I need 2 each for both vent gable ends

Hey , place lights where they roost .. they can’t stand light

Should you wear gloves? Always heard bat poo was dangerous.
Im still alive
So how do you no two weeks is enough time
How do you get rid of bats when they are in a covered walkway with nothing to block? I tried spray. And how far from house do you place the bat boxes?
Bats are protected species. It can be a crime with fines if you knowingly kill a bat.
I'm assuming by "spray" you mean something that rat poison.
"like rat poison.". Not that rat poison".
@@happydays1336 who cares. No one wants them around

Great video. Thanks! :)
Why would leaving them an exit also not leave them an entrance? You just gave them a cool little tunnel to crawl through.
I don’t get it either. But I know it doesn’t work. Been infested in my home for 12 years. Just found one today! 🧌

How much should this cost. I got a quote for 11K !!!!!
Holy shit!! We are getting someone to the house today to get quote. Im hoping its 1k the highest
I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE CHARGING THOUSANDS BUT NOT THAT MUCH.
do you have his and hers Mecedes benz in the driveway ??

You are brave. I don't mess around with bats. They carry disease.
When bats fly in the daytime is a sign of rabies.
What happens when there entry point is is 45ft up?
The price may double.
What about bat bugs? How often do you see this after bats have been excluded from the home?

Risk of rabies exposure.
Bat poop can have histoplasmosis spores. Do not breathe.
What do you use for netting?
i already have a bat in my house. your title is missleading! change it please...
What do you mean? Thats how an exclusion works, seal entrances except for 1 and leave a 1 way entrance where they get out but not in
There bats in my garage
I saw the 🦇
