As usual very good DIY content & love your efforts. Some suggestions. Cat 6 cable will help to shield against all the intereference and use the other leads to power cameras or other devices. They're expensive than Cat 5E because of these additional shielding properties. And D-Link is a average device. As the device ages you'll see connection drops and firmware issues. Stick to NetGear or TP-Link based routers which are bit expensive but very robust. And in your setup, you'll have 2 Wifi SSID because of 2 different routers and you've to switch manually when you move to first floor / ground floor. There are Mesh routers in the market which are meant to tackle these signal issues, and these multiple units talk to each other and maintain the same SSID and you don't have to manually switch between them. you can start with a 2 unit mesh. Remember how much ever these router companies and ISP's market about signal strength in wifi, when you move to another room with a concrete wall in between, there will be signal drop and drop in wifi speed. If you're very particular about speeds, you've to stick to LAN based connections for PC and stick to Wifi for mobile alone.

HI bro, We only need a cable with two pairs for 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet. However, if you plan to use gigabit Ethernet, you will need all four pairs of the cable to achieve a higher data rate. The extra pairs are also used for power-over-Ethernet (PoE) applications, where the same cable can deliver both data and power to devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points. For PoE, we use a device called a PoE switch.
Exactly I did same thing on July 17/24. I had already previous BSNL connection wifi modem. So I used it. And 650rs for 25m cable and rj45 jak. I request to crimping to the jio fiber technician working on near me. So I used it for free of cost.

I was in this position around 8 years back😂mine is individual house with G+2 (ground flr in Office and 2 floors house) Totally used 85 meters cable with 2 broadband connections now! 3 router and 2 modems! Nice video btw
Your cable is not a proper UTP network cable as defined by TIA/EIA 568. In fact, the pairs used by the 10Base-T (10 Mbps) and 100Base-TX (100 Mbps) ethernet are 1-2 and 3-6. The 1000Base-T (1 Gbps) standard requires all four pairs (wired as 1-2, 3-6, 4-5, 7-8). You must use a TIA/EIA wiring standard, either TIA/EIA T568A (normally used for home networking) or TIA/EIA T568B (usually used in business networking). Either wiring standard will work, but you probably want the cable wired straight-through. You may need a crossover (one side T568A and the other T568B) under certain circumstances.

Remaining 4 cables can be used to pin either USB or POE or for Telephone, I appreciate your efforts for bringing this video but the way you crimped the wire may lead to mistake in colour coding in this video the ultimate purpose of taking measurement double the size of RJ45 pin has become useless as you have cut the extra cable before you have crimped it, in order to make sure about the colour coding you have to leave the cable pass through the RJ45 pin, so that you double check the colour coding before you are crimping and when you crimp the RJ 45 by this method any extra wire that came through the pin will come off as soon as it is crimped, so this method will ensure that there is no mistake has been made before crimping 😊
Problems always arise on main router only. Because of fluctuations in their signal broadcasting. If network people says anything other than this don't trust them. It's all scam by them. Who am I to say this? Because am former fiber network engineer, kio fiber , who exposed them 😂
4 pair cable is used in POE (Power over Ethernet) , means sending DC power along with Internet in same cable , Also 4 pair is needed in Gigabit connections
Basically this is wired repeater.. i have done this earlier.. i had secondary MI and Tplink routers configured as repeaters..I also remember ACT cable is LAN which connects from their neighboring switch to our router..But other providers use fibre optic cable which is connected to our router. Wired repeater will try to replicate the same speed from your primary router.. you can configure this as wireless repeater too but that will have some losses.. Also i need to mention service providers has limitations in laying the cable to home for a connection. If it exceeds the meter they will charge.. i have faced thia diff providers earlier. As you need to extend your connection for larger coverage they may charge which is usual i don't see a problem there only thing is cost difference. Now i use Jio fiber. Also LAN cable has its own limitation and losses bases upon the standard.. CAT6 certified is little costly as far as i know.
In a RJ45 connector pin numbers 1 ad 2 are used for transmission and pin numbers 3 and 6 are used for reception. the remaining wires are used only where you employ "Power Over Ethernet". this is useful in powering remote camera or Access Points.
Very useful video bro. But neenga second router vandhu additional extension router madhiri use panni irukkeengannu nenaikkiren. Access point madhiri use panna adhe SSID, adhe password use pannikkalaam, similar to main router. Naan Jio use panren, second router AP madhiri connect panni irukken.
@engineeringfacts I think you created an extension of your current WiFi (a new SSID), which means you have to reconnect between SSIDs (upstairs and downstairs). I think the new router supports Access Point mode. Which means you will have the same SSID and when you move from upstairs to downstairs and vice versa, the device will automatically connect to the strongest WiFi signal. I had the same issue and I setup using 2 TPLink Archer C5 routers.
@Engineering Facts Bro 4 pair (8wires) cable is best choice, becoz if any pair damage in future you can crimp and use with working pair. Technically is working as 1,2,3,6 also you may check with router lan ports , the ports 4 pins like 1,2,3 6 this structure. Any way Good Work!!!
As a system engineer, 1,2,3&6 are used for internet and 4,5 are used for power supply through the cable to some devices like camera.. and 7,8 used for old telephone applications

11:38 actually other 4 cores are for POE( Power over Ethernet) some devices are powered and data transmitted through same cable like IP camera so they use other 4 for power purpose. Only 4 pins available in router because we power them externally and they are not POE switch. POE switch actually use 8 pins in their RJ45 socket
In concrete buildings wifi signal could not penetrate. For wooden walls it can. For the past 8 years I am also using this same method. ACT is reliable, rarely issues are popping-up and once complain they are started looking immediately. Compare to other providers, I feeel this one is much better.
11:36 [VIDEO IDEA] Bro you could make an ethernet splitter using the other 4 set of cables. I opened up my ethernet wire and attached the other useless 4 wires to another ethernet plug. And did the same on the other side. So you could use the same cable to access the internet in two different devices. But it will only work if you do it on both sides (obv it will occupy 2 ports on the router). I am not an engineer I just did it out of curiosity and it works, it's useful for long distance cables and if you don't wanna hook up a router.. Maybe you could make a video out of this..
Hi Bro, I have same issue with ACTing and Fed up calls. What I did is, bought three Routers, cables for them and made them as new separate connection in each room, configured them as separate WiFi Network and working seamlessly on them, still having issues with Main router then and there but this way Whole House gets WiFi connection now. This costs less than getting separate routers from them and added installations for them. Even Seeing this Video from a Secondary router network.

I did the same at my home last year since i had old router with me and i extended with jio fiber. Jio sales asked around 14k with labour just for wifi extender, it didn't seem as worth as they claimed. Just spend for 4 pair cable. Better to go this way and save money.
Cat 5e, Cat6 has 8 wires. 4 wires can transmit internit but ony upto 100 Mbps. So if your internet speeds are below 100 Mbps (Not 100, below 100, like 75) then it is enough. But incase you upgrade to a higher speeds of 100 or more than 100 Mbps, you need the 8 wire Cat5e or Cat6. Usually for IP cameras, 4 wires are for data and 4 wires are for PoE (Power over Ethernet protocol) so that the camera canget power and data in same cable. Otherwise the 8 wires are used for gigabit negotiation and data transmission. 1000 Mbps full duplex negotiation happens if the cable has 8 pins and the device also has 8pins. In your case, your DLink router will support only speeds below 100 Mbps. If u decide to upgrade to a higher speed, you need to buy a dual band gigabit router. Ungaluku ACT la irundhu kudukura router a kooda avangale change panuvaanga. It is better if you buy your OWN Gigabit router and configure your ISP credentials on that router.

HI bro,
We only need a cable with two pairs for 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet.
Atlast someone found the mistake

I did exactly this Last Year and using network seamlessly now. Main Router issue is still aside...
Problems always arise on main router only.
Because of fluctuations in their signal broadcasting. If network people says anything other than this don't trust them. It's all scam by them.
Who am I to say this?
Because am former fiber network engineer, kio fiber , who exposed them 😂
Nice sir ... 😊... Super....👍.. I like your work always....
4 pair cable is used in POE (Power over Ethernet) , means sending DC power along with Internet in same cable ,
Also 4 pair is needed in Gigabit connections
Brother, The way you discuss things are interesting! Good job.. If I may ask ur background of education, I'm kinda curious to know😊
Basically this is wired repeater.. i have done this earlier.. i had secondary MI and Tplink routers configured as repeaters..I also remember ACT cable is LAN which connects from their neighboring switch to our router..But other providers use fibre optic cable which is connected to our router.

Nice . 8 wires are needed for gig speed. 4 wires max 100mbps will work . Mostly . U r future proof
In concrete buildings wifi signal could not penetrate. For wooden walls it can. For the past 8 years I am also using this same method. ACT is reliable, rarely issues are popping-up and once complain they are started looking immediately. Compare to other providers, I feeel this one is much better.
😂 signals penetrate woods and not concrete walls 😂
Research about wood resistant properties of signal penetration

Rj45 jack ....8 pair crimping...4 pin data transfer + 4 pin power supply transfer....
