This (Roland SH-3a) was my first synth. unfortunately I sold it but picked up another later so I own one again - and would have to have some very strong incentive to sell again. My second synth was a Korg Poly 61. I didn't know at that time that the Poly 6 was actually a much better option. My point is that the SH-3a is an amazing synth for its time. Thanks for the great review.
My sister found this in the attic of the garage of the house she moved into 3 years ago.. Amazingly it sounds like it is fully functional.
Deja Vu!! This was the first synth I ever owned more then 30 years ago.

That looks so cool!
if its a 3a its a ladder filter moog / if its 3 its a a diode filter
You are correct! Many years ago, there was a pervasive rumor that there was a Moog infringement in the SH-3 that led to the SH-3A, but it's not true.
great 70s synth and great demo as always ! keep it up..@@automaticgainsay
AutomaticGainsay and people say sh3 filter is VCS-type
Ah man you get to play with all the nice toys.
Nice demonstration! Thanks for this, I've been wondering what that oscillator would sound like.
