I took the plunge going from a model:cycles to a Digitakt but never really knew what the big differentiation was in the Octatrak but this kinda explained it for me. I thought it was more of a performance machine with the fader but didn’t know what it did. Don’t think I will be rushing out to get one any time soon though, the interface and stuff isn’t as polished and its huge. Maybe in the future they will make like something thats sort of a successor to this and the Digitakt in one device thats modernized even more (Stereo samples, more memory/storage etc.)
That’s fair! The interface is undeniably a bit clunky. Though I will say, I was surprised at the size in person, it was much smaller than I thought it would be based on videos. An mkiii would certainly be welcome, but I’m definitely not expecting it
Thanks for the close-up of the dog hair. Lean INTO that imperfection.
Hahah it’s the way to be!
very tempted to pull my octatrack out of storage again and get weird with it… thank you for making these inspiring videos Daniel!
As I always say…. Do it!!! Thanks for the support, I hope you’re well!
ooh nice, playing with the retrig values!
One of my most recent Octatrack addictions for sure
Have you been on the distrokid gravy train long? Congrats. You're in the club.
I worked with them a bit last year, too! Thanks :)))
Really enjoyed this video! 👍
Glad you liked it!
very cool~
Thanks!
Looks like it would be great in a live setting.
I haven’t played any live sets myself, but that’s exactly the idea!! Performable af.
❤ this could be in a new album with some work!
Yes yes it could!! LP3 is coming in the spring and I already have a working song list for the next one :)
You make dawless music seem so simple.
Aw thanks! Lots of practice & studying tbh
