Thank you so much. I just made my first kahoa for my MIL for Mother’s Day and she loves it. Without your help I would have given up on trying to figure out how to make this. I am beyond thankful for you. I’m also planning on using your other videos for graduation coming up. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
This is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing your skill, craft and heritage with us. I am a Samoan Mum with half Tongan babies. Can’t wait to teach them too! Thank you! 🇹🇴❤️
This is fantastic. Very detailed. I’ve watched other videos that don’t have this amount of detail and it’s been hard trying to fill in the gaps. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 🙏🏾
Thank you for sharing your talents! I love the details to the T and I appreciate how you take the time to share this amazing gifts of yours with us all.❤
Wow!! You’re right, there’s not enough info that can be found on how to make these leis and you posted your video just in time for me to learn fire my son’s graduation Friday! A few questions-how long before an event do you make these to be worn? How long will it stay fresh and do you keep it on wet towels and refrigerated before use? How much would you say it cost to make a single lei?
I’m so glad you found this video! I try to make my leis no more than 24 hours in advance but they should last at least 2-3 days. To keep it fresh I finish my leis with a spray called Crowning Glory. You can find this on Amazon or any floral supply shop/website. It helps the flowers to hold in moisture. Leis can be stored in the refrigerator in the bottom drawer/lowest setting with damp paper towels. Materials for this lei wholesale are about $30-$35 dollars.
I’ve been looking for a few years for a tutorial on Tongan leis! Thank you so much for this! Definitely will try it out bc we all know ppl charging a lot for these lol but I don’t blame em! It’s a process!!
Thank you so much for your tutorials. They are very much appreciated. I am definitely utilizing your videos as I am in my learning journey as well. THANK YOU
Thank you sis much love I'm so happy that I could atleast make something for my brother wedding in a month thank you so much for sharing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely beautiful lei! Awesome job on the tutorial, it's very easy to understand and follow. I know how to make a lei but never made a Tongan lei. I have a graduation to attend in a couple of weeks and I think I might make this lei. This style of lei is so *extra* and beautiful, I think my graduate would love it. Thank you for sharing your skill, it's very much appreciated.
This is absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for breaking it down in a simple way for us beginners can understand. Gonna make one for my son's prize giving now 😍 New sub right here!

Wow, you are amazing!! Thank you ever so much for sharing this video. I’ve been searching desperately for a full info breakdown on how to make this beautiful Tongan lei: you have no idea how very grateful I am to find your video. You make it look so easy.:🥰🥰🤞🏽 it will be the same on my end. Lol! Perfect timing for my sister high school and son’s elementary graduation. Malo ‘aupito!❤️
Thanks for watching! I am a full time florist and order all of my materials wholesale. In my area a few of the wholesalers sell to the Public and majority require you to be a business and provide your EIN or sales tax license. You can also check with a local floral shop and they might be willing to let you order and purchase those items from them by the bunch. I have also found Songs of India plants at Home Depot or Lowes. If you live near a flower market (like the Los Angeles Flower Market) you can shop or order from one of the sellers there. Lastly, you can order from an online wholesaler such as Blooms by the box or fifty flowers. Some of the online wholesalers don’t require the EIN or sales tax license but they usually have a minimum.
Thank you so much for this! I'm in the beginning stages of making kahoas so your tips are so useful! Also, I would love for you to teach how to make a sisi kakala (only if you can because those are a lot of work). 'Ofa lahi atu.
Thank you for posting this video, it’s easy to follow and understand!!! I was just wondering where you buy the ti leafs for the lei? And the songs of India? I’m new to making lei’s so I’m not sure where to start. Malo ‘aupito for your time ❤️❤️

Could you please do a Tutorial on how to make a Fakaha’apai Please? I am wanting to create my own but don’t know how to lol. Love your tutorials ! OFA ATU KA KOE 🤎
Yyyaaayyy i can finally try and make this my own. Question after msking it hoe long can i have it sit in the refrigerator for brfor giving it yo my frandma for her birthday??
Hi can you give me an idea on how to incorporate puakenikeni and pikake flowers into this Lei??those are my grandma's favorite flowers and I want to attempt to make this Lei but also to have her favorite flowers. Her birthday is this Saturday so I hope you see this. Thank you.
If you wanted your lei to be made with all plant based materials, You could possibly used sea grape leaves or maybe rubber tree leaves instead of using foam for the bottom plate. Plus, instead of stapling the flowers and sewing the leaves together, and braiding the leaves into the string, you could have sewn them with raffia, so that way if you wanted to give back the dead plants to mother earth, you wouldn't be polluting. It would all be biodegradable.
