One of my best hacks for dry skin is to invest $30 in a humidifier. Sleep with it on every night and not only will you breathe better, my skin noticeably became more comfortable and now I can’t travel anywhere without packing my humidifier!! I use this one! I got it from CVS over a year ago and it still works great. Definitely buy yourself some bleach for a weekly soak, and a bottle brush for deep scrubbing the nooks and crannies. My only dislike is how awkward humidifiers are to clean. They are just built to have weird hard to reach shapes, but if you take your time you can manage to clean them thoroughly. I use eyeshadow primer in my non-existant eyebrows. As I have to almost completely draw my brows on, it helps the pen last much longer through the day.
I've been putting Nyx proof it eyeshadow primer under my concealer for a while now. But recently I was getting ready to do my eyebrows and I didn't want a gel, or a pomade or a stick. I wanted a very soft natural look on this particular day. So I ended up putting NYX proof it on my eyebrows and working it in and then letting it dry and applying some taupe eyeshadow since I am blonde. It gave me a very soft extremely natural eyebrow, but it had the staying power of a more substantial product. just be sure to brush your eyebrows back into place before the primer dries lol.
Yes face primer is great for under the eyes. Idk why more people don't try it! If you look at the directions for the Tatcha primer it says for under the eye too! I see so many people use foundation and concealer under the eye when you really should just do primer and concealer you don't bring the foundation all the way up so it's not too much product and won't cake up!
I thought that too. Most ppl’s under eyes are dryer, so you use a face primer underneath, and most lids are normal to oily so you’d use an eyeshadow primer on lid only🤷🏻♀️ Otherwise, a shadow primer under eye on dryer skin would look so textured.
I have a hack! If you're out of brow products comb the brows with some lip balm and apply an eyeshadow close to the brow color on top. Most balms are wax based, so that helps with adhering the powder, and setting the hair at the same time, so the brows look more tame and last on longer
First of all, where have you been all my life?! Haha! I have been watching UA-cam for years and just stumbled upon your channel recently and I cannot get enough!
OMG! Thank you for using a hack I suggested! I’m blown away. I love you so much!🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️ Love all these hacks especially the squall el one. Going to try!🤗🤗🤗
I love the idea of using a cotton round to pad your powder products. I always layer some folder tissues on top of my powders when I travel. Plus everything gets bagged in reusable ziplock bags to catch any fall out. For liquid foundations in glass bottles I always repackage them in plastic vaccum pump liquid bottles from Daiso. The bottles are 1 fluid ounce so it fits most foundations. Bonus is that there is no air introduced to the product so it extends the shelf life and is also good for foundations that come without pumps.
Hack!! When my favourite pressed powder gets to the point where there's only powder around the edges and it starts breaking away, I dump it into a SMALL Tupperware type container with lid. It needs to be big enough for you to dip your brush into, but still small. I put the lid on, and then give it a good shake to break up the powder, and now I have a loose powder that I'm able to use up completely. This works with all types of powders.
My favorite hack is saving money when buying mascara. There is a particular style mascara brush that works best for my short, sparse lashes. I purchased the AOA Fat Lash mascara and used the wand from my more expensive product. This worked SO WELL. I might have gotten lucky with the AOA formula, as I read several comments about how great a product it was. However, the brush that came with it just clumped my short lashes together!
@@Abundantly-Blessed Just by chance I discovered the Believe Beauty Lengthening mascara from Dollar General. I have never had a wand work better on my lashes. But, it dries up so fast. That's when I decided to try using the wand in other mascaras and it has made all the difference!
I never thought of this! I love the spoolie for my lower lash mascara but I'm not fussy on most of the formulas so when I finish this one I'll give it a try!
First of all, you’re gorgeous! And I love your eye look! Thank you for honoring your viewers with trying out their hacks! How fun! I honestly haven’t had a stitch of makeup on in a month because I’ve been working from home but this has inspired me to do something to feel pretty! I hope you and your family continue to be safe and healthy!
That last tip also works with stick concealers and foundations. Apply an oil in a light layer before using the stick foundation and it will go a lot farther. Also helps you use up product if you bought a stick and found you didn't like it (like me) because of how stiff it is.
Wayne Goss does a video on the powder hack and also on this hack. Video title is something like, foundation trick that will change your life. Yeah, it’s just thinning it down w face oil for a more natural, glowing effect.
That last hack was how I did my whole face for cheap in high school. I would use Hard Candy’s Glamouflage concealer and face lotion and it looked wonderful!
Same!! That glamouflage concealer worked pretty good for that! Plus, I'd only concentrate on the center of my face, since that was where I needed the most color balancing.
I used to use the Revlon color stay foundation with moisturizer to thin it out! Around 17-18 years ago now when the only had the 1 formula and it was SO thick and super full coverage!
I haven't tried this with squalane but i usually do something similar with my marula/rosehip oil and my concealer and it works well too, so I am guessing other facial oils might also used for this😊 tbh, i like the combination of oil with concealer or even foundation since it provides natural radiant finish to my skin.... Anyways, stay safe and healthy everyone 💖
Purple Khajiit I love that concealer. That’s the one I was thinking of for that hack. They have glamoflauge foundation now but I like the idea of being able to adjust the sheerness of your dyi.
Thank you for bringing some normality back to our lives zabrena. I really appreciate all the hard work you do along with looking after 3 kids, hubby and house. I am so thankful for youxxx
Before applying mascara I run setting powder or eye shadow over my lashes with a fluffy brush to absorb excess oil (from cleaners/oily lids). The product adheres better this way.
I just love these videos that you do! I always learn something new. I know that all of us are going through our own challenges during this COVID 19 crisis, but when I watch one of your videos I know that it will always put a smile on my face. You are funny, upbeat and really a joy to watch. Thanks for that Zabrena! Stay well.
Great tips....my favorite tip discovered is for a cut crease, it's such a breeze using one of those small fan brushes( lash brush) like the sigma E04...just cover it with your concealer or whatever canvas u are using from the back of your hand and gently align n stamp onto lid, cover half or full brush with concealer depending on if you doing a half or full cut crease...its saved me time and uneven cut creases!
Popping eye primer on and getting some in your lower lashes also seems to help mascara from migrating around. Or at least for me it does, I have very oily lids and a small crease under my lower lashes. If I don't use a primer my mascara and eyeliner ends up settling in that crease
OMG I never wear mascara on my lower lashes because I have a small crease under my eyes as well, and it gets everywhere. Same goes for eyeliner. I'll try with eye primer! Thanks!❤️
Just Subscribed but have been watching off and on for a while. Your videos have been such a positive, bright spot in my day during the whole Covid thing. Valuable information, but I love your personality and attitude! Thank you so much
Putting a smoothing face primer(I use a SMALL amount of the elf poreless putty primer) helps reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and extend makeup wear if it is a more sticky primer. Don't over apply however or it can look a bit cakey.
I think all of us are shopping our stashes more! I've been using alot of my face masks and samples up!. Locally my Ulta and saphora stores are closed :( but at least the grocery/drug/Walmart type stores are open. I would love if you have time if you could maybe do a tutorial Tuesday (or) Thursday using drugstore dupes of higher end products :)
My tip: I love my Almay eye makeup oil free remover pads and it takes me a long time to get through the whole container, so the pads in the bottom can dry out before I get to them. I’ve learned to turn the stack upside down in the container as soon as I first open it and the liquid redistributes. When you get to the last one it is not dry at all! I love your videos, seeing your face in my weekend playlist always makes me happy. Thanks for being genuine and fun to watch❤️
I use a drop of of concealer in my sunblock to tint it. It takes away the white cast that you sometimes get with spf. It’s also a great way to use up a concealer. I also use a powder puff after setting spay (before it drys) make all the powder products set into the skin beautifully.
being on a budget and only using what I have and having less hrs at work has put me in a funk. thank u for making makeup affordable videos etc. love u and your channel. such a calming voice and love your name btw:)
I’ve been doing the setting powder under foundation trick for YEARS! It’s amazing!! I do have oily skin, and it helps to control the oil. I’m not sure how it would work with dry skin, though.
My eyeshadow hack for hooded eyes so the shimmer doesn’t transfer: apply glitter primer (think layer) right before applying the shimmer and then pack that shimmer on the lid. Stays of forever, looks intense, doesn’t transfer like it would normally! Try it! I do apply regular primer to the whole eye area first (milani) do all the matte shadows and right before doing the shimmer go in w/ glitter primer!
I'll mix my full coverage foundation with moisturizer for a BB cream in a small pot and then on a day when I want that lighter coverage I use my homemade BB cream and then I'll use the actual foundation as my concealer.
I've been doing the moisturizer, powder, setting spray, then proper 6 hack and love it! Jordan Liberty posted about that technique a while back and I've been doing it ever since!
Squalane is my favorite oil! it's super great for the skin because it's actually part of what makes up our natural sebum. It's also the least shiny and "oily" feeling oil out there!
im so glad your in my world. they will know you by your love for one another. stand strong .God shined through you and i thank him for you. Big hugs sister
I have really, really dry under eyes, and make sure to apply eye cream and the Elf Hydrating primer under my eyes. Its the only thing that keeps the concealer from scaling against the skin.
@@goynplaycs I've been using the TrueSkin eye cream. You can get it on Amazon for about $15, and it's amazing. I use it twice a day on my undereyes, and evening only for eyelids. For dry eyelids, I'd put the cream on twice a day, and then a primer on top. I'm using the Milani eyeshadow primer, since its nice and tacky.
I loved this video! I think we’re all trying to stretch our makeup products more these days, so I love the squareness oil idea! Squalene is a dry oil so I can see that working really well!
Love you videos and your creativity with your topic choices. Thank you. When washing my face, I never fail to end up with water dripping down to my wrists. I once heard a suggestion of putting a scrunchie around each wrist to prevent the water from dripping further down your arm.
I use the Revlon pores filling primer (the pink one) under my eyes and it has made a big difference in my concealer lasting under my eyes. I have horrible allergies so my eyes water a lot. This trick helps that too!
@@sleepystrugglz4586 my undereyes aren't dry but sometimes my forehead gets dry and I use it there for pore filling and it doesn't dry out or look flaky.
i need you to do a video on how to keep your makeup on while wearing a mask. i know it isn't going to stay on perfectly, but it would be nice if we could get it for some time!
The cotton pad in compacts is so genius! I have wasted so much time and energy (& ultimately $$!!) on either trying to repair broken powder foundations or turning themselves into loose powders that are just not the same 😑 My complete gratitude to the wonderful tipster(s) for sharing this - thank you, thank you, thank you! And as always, thanks for the awesome video, Zabrina. Germ-free love to all from the Canadian Prairies ❤
I just enjoy your videos so much. I don’t know why you find the time to do 3 a week ! Also, not only is your make-up beautiful , so is your hair !! Thank you
I've done the first hack but with cotton balls because you can take the cotton balls and pull them out to make a bigger circle, some products may require more than one cotton ball but cotton balls are so inexpensive, that I don't mind doing it! It also works really well on products that are made with a shaker insert, loose pigment eyeshadows and powders!
I love Squalene! In the winter I put it on my skin before bed and on the days that I don’t wear makeup. It is such a nice product to give your skin a nice drink when it feels dry. I am going to try this hack. I bet it will work well on my dry skin. TY for this video, I think it’s awesome to try everyone else’s tricks and tips.
You can also moisturize, prime, lightly set with powder and then place foundation over. I watched Wayne Goss do it and I tried it. Definitely worked for me
Make any lipstick matte: Apply your lipstick. Take one square of toilet paper and separate the ply's, so that its just 1-ply. Place on your lips. Take a translucent powder and a brush, and dust over your lips with the toilet paper still on them. Pull toilet paper off and your lips will be matte. It doesn't affect the color at all, and it will prolong the wear time. I also use those plastic Easter eggs to store my beauty blenders. I find the Large ones work the best.
What imaginative information! I love watching your videos and not only are they educational, they are entertaining! What a beautiful lady, yes you are! Keep up the good work! I must admit, I usually purchased my make up from fine department stores or Sephora and Ulta in recent years. I had not purchased drugstore brands like Milani, LA Colors or NYK, and E.L.F. until I saw all of the tutorials you post(ed). You have definitely revived my interests in these brands I might have otherwise passed on! Thank you for that!
When makeup is done, before setting spray, I like to use a tiny bit of concealer at the edge of my eye to wing out and sharpen my eye shadow instead of trying to shape it from the start. I create the shape, then blend it out with a sponge.
Okay, so I tried the reverse makeup tip using the setting powder and spray over the moisturizer before applying the foundation and THIS REALLY WORKS!!! My makeup looked beautiful and stayed put all day even after a walk on the oceanfront in 90* weather with a 99* heat index. I was skeptical, but it really works. I have tried this twice and gotten the same beautiful results. For the record, I am 58 with dry skin. Just be careful and apply the moisturizer evenly as the first time I did this, I used a thick cream and after I applied the powder I could see where the moisturizer wasn't even and had to fix that before continuing.
The tip for cleaning a palette is a great idea, won't hurt the shadow and its quick, perfection. I also like the squalane oil and concealer tip, sometimes I prefer the concealer from the brand than the foundation, so this is perfect to get the most out of the product.
Great hacks Zabrena. Please, please do a video on your purple eyeshadow. Your eyes looked fantastic. I adore purples and pinks. Take care and keep well 😘💞
I'm really shocked that you didn't know about this one about the 5 steps in which you really should apply your facial products and makeup, and in what specific order, and I agree 100%! Because I've been doing it this way for years now. It's amazing how natural, yet flawless it keeps my makeup looking!!!🥰 I love the way it looks/stays on your face, and how it literally manages to stay put!! It did take a little while to get used to, because I was so used to always applying my powder very last! But now, I've finally grown accustomed to applying my translucent powder right after moisturizer. Not right after applying my foundation, like I had normally been used to. It really is one of the most useful beauty hacks that I have ever heard of and have used for years! And to think I was skeptical at first when I initially read the article about the truth, in regards to the correct way to apply your makeup flawlessly, while also making it easily to last all day on your face!💕 So to sum everything up, the order I apply my face products are as followed: 1. Moisturizer 2. Translucent Powder 3. Setting Spray 4. Primer 5. Concealer/Foundation (optional) 6. ALL FINISHED!!!🥰
I save and sanitize my mascara wants and use which one works best for me at the time. Sometimes you just find an amazing wand that fits your lashes perfectly! I'm thinking of trying the new liquid metal wand so I can waste less plastic but we'll see!
You can soak your nails is milk to strengthen them and use effervescent denture tabs to whiten the whites of your nails. Thank you for the tips and tricks. And for all your hard work keeping us informed.
I'm not sure I want to go anywhere for a while but you can bet the first one will be a biggie. Maybe I'll go to the Bahamas to Bryan and Sarah Baeumler's place.
No more clumps! I save tissue paper (like mostly the black paper that comes in the Sephora packages lol) cut it into smaller pieces and keep it near where I store my mascara. I use it to wipe excess mascara from wands before application, which allows me to layer in very thin coats, resulting in no clumps. Tissue paper has no lint to get all over the wand. Depending on the mascara, I like to take most, sometimes almost all the product off, especially for the first coat. It does waste product, but I have to toss the tube after 3 to 6 months for hygiene anyway, and I personally never run out before then. This works great on those mascaras that start out super wet.
The cotton pads work for any palette/powder makeup... you just put multiples side by side. As a bonus, the part that wasn't shadow side down (still clean) can be used as a way to wipe off your brushes between shadows. That way, they don't feel like a waste, you can take fewer brushes, and still protect your makeup. I've done this for years, and no broken makeup!
I've been a fan of yours for ages, so when I was clicking through my feed today & UA-cam recommended someone that others who liked Nikkia Joy enjoyed, I saw the thumbnail briefly, and just clicked without checking the name. Well imagine my shock and delight when it turned out to be YOU!! 💙💙 I have NO idea why, but for some reason I haven't seen your videos in AGES! o.O So needless to say, this was a total joy to find, and I'm super super happy to have found you again! 💙💙 I don't know how or why you went off my radar, but I'm so happy to see you again! ^_^ I missed you woman! 💙
I don't use many internet hacks, but I wanted to mention that if you have a matte sort of concealer that emphasizes the fine lines under the eyes, I'm loving applying moisturizer under the eyes first and then go over. it's smoother, and easier to apply and less tug on the delicate area.
Wow. thank you for trying my tip. You are 100% right, technique does influence the wear of concealer. I use the hack you pointed out from Allure Magazine for sure. For the primer I use I tend to use my eyeshadow primer - but have also used Elf's poreless face primer with great results. I do have naturally baggy under eyes so concealer tends to crease no matter what. The others are amazing and on my list of to be tried. Thank you for posting the video, it's appreciated and the highlight of my day.
My favorite eyeshadow hack: if your purple shadow is pulling too pink, put a light blue shadow on first & then layer the purple. Also works when green shadow pulls too yellow, the light blue under it makes it a “truer” green.

I have a hack! If you're out of brow products comb the brows with some lip balm and apply an eyeshadow close to the brow color on top. Most balms are wax based, so that helps with adhering the powder, and setting the hair at the same time, so the brows look more tame and last on longer
I hardly ever comment, been watching your videos for years now. I love the idea of collecting tips and tricks great video would love to see more.
I add skwalene to my face at night and a really good dose of moisturizer. The first helps pull the moisture from the later into the skin.
However, the brush that came with it just clumped my short lashes together!
same :) i just use my favourite maybelline mascara brush and put it in the waterproof mascara formula. now i have the best of both :D
I thought I was the only one that did this lol. I love the L’Oréal Telescopic small plastic wand.
@@Abundantly-Blessed Just by chance I discovered the Believe Beauty Lengthening mascara from Dollar General. I have never had a wand work better on my lashes. But, it dries up so fast. That's when I decided to try using the wand in other mascaras and it has made all the difference!
I LOVE Shop Miss A!!
I never thought of this! I love the spoolie for my lower lash mascara but I'm not fussy on most of the formulas so when I finish this one I'll give it a try!
I would love to see a part 2 to this video. These hacks were so interesting and I will definitely be trying out a couple of them.
Same! Working from home. I miss my makeup! 😭
Love this kind of video, please make more!! My hack is to use your blush in your eyeshadow look to really tie the look together
That last tip also works with stick concealers and foundations. Apply an oil in a light layer before using the stick foundation and it will go a lot farther. Also helps you use up product if you bought a stick and found you didn't like it (like me) because of how stiff it is.
I wonder if u could use a drop of oil in place of the squalene
Wayne Goss does a video on the powder hack and also on this hack. Video title is something like, foundation trick that will change your life. Yeah, it’s just thinning it down w face oil for a more natural, glowing effect.
That last hack was how I did my whole face for cheap in high school. I would use Hard Candy’s Glamouflage concealer and face lotion and it looked wonderful!
Same!! That glamouflage concealer worked pretty good for that! Plus, I'd only concentrate on the center of my face, since that was where I needed the most color balancing.
I have noticed that the formula has changed. Not sure if I got a dud but was not happy with my last purchase. It was a great concealer.
Stay well.
Agree, Zabrena is always a joy to watch - such a warm hearted person 💕💕
This purple eye look! 😍
And I need a tutorial for this eye look, the shimmer is making me want it! lol
What are you wearing on your eyes? It looks beautiful!
I apply Tarte Hydrating primer (Base Tape I believe) under my eyes and on my eyelids to help hydrate prior to concealer and eyeshadow primer.
OMG before I watch the video(little pause to say how beautiful ur eye look is) 😍😍😍 love it
Clau93 I thought the same thing! So stunning 🤩
I use a drop of of concealer in my sunblock to tint it. It takes away the white cast that you sometimes get with spf. It’s also a great way to use up a concealer. I also use a powder puff after setting spay (before it drys) make all the powder products set into the skin beautifully.
Loved all of these hacks! This video lifted my spirits! Thank you for being so dedicated to your channel at this trying time! ❤️😊
being on a budget and only using what I have and having less hrs at work has put me in a funk. thank u for making makeup affordable videos etc. love u and your channel. such a calming voice and love your name btw:)
That reordered makeup routine is genius. Counter traditional but if you think about it, totally makes sense! Bravo! 👍🏼 Gotta try that!
I’ve been doing the setting powder under foundation trick for YEARS! It’s amazing!! I do have oily skin, and it helps to control the oil. I’m not sure how it would work with dry skin, though.
Your hair is always gorgeous. I have fine, thin hair so your thick luxurious hair fascinates me. ❤️
You’re beautiful Susan 💎
My eyeshadow hack for hooded eyes so the shimmer doesn’t transfer: apply glitter primer (think layer) right before applying the shimmer and then pack that shimmer on the lid. Stays of forever, looks intense, doesn’t transfer like it would normally! Try it! I do apply regular primer to the whole eye area first (milani) do all the matte shadows and right before doing the shimmer go in w/ glitter primer!
Ty
I love when you mention your past videos! I always love going back to those! 💗
Not so much a make up hack but a beauty one if plucking your eyebrows use a warm flannel first on the brow area it does make it easier
I always mix my concealers with moisturizer.....it turns it into a bb cream sorta coverage but it definitely saves product lol
You can also mix a little loose powder in with your foundation before application. It cuts the shine and makes foundation last all day.
So Many THANKS!!! I just resurfaced my "It" Cosmetics blush with a spoolie.....PERFECT!
Lynn Thomas thanks for the tip!!
Which eye cream do you like?
And do you have a recommendation for lid primer? I have really dry lids too. Nobody seems to ever talk about that.
I need to try that scrunchie trick!
I use the Revlon pores filling primer (the pink one) under my eyes and it has made a big difference in my concealer lasting under my eyes. I have horrible allergies so my eyes water a lot. This trick helps that too!
I have watery eyes as well. Does that primer work with dry undereyes?
Definitely worked for me
Love your videos, laugh and sense of humor. I’m in my mid 40’s and just stared dabbling into makeup last year, I’ve learn so much from you. Thank you.
Awesome hacks..... Share more. Bring on PART 2. Love ya.
I'm not rich enough to waste toilet paper. LOL, down to our last 8 rolls with six of us under one roof. Stupid hoarders!
@@reneesoli5345 No one is forcing you to do this. This is a hack if you don't have a matte lipstick on you and want a matte lip. 💁♀️
I guess my joke about the toilet paper didn't come through in written form.
Renée Soli I guess not 😂
Renée Soli BUT you are right, HOARDERS SUCK.
So much fun......and informative!!! Must get more. Thank you, Beautiful! 🥰
I started watching you before your 100,000 subscriber Mark. I will continue
I have that same squalane oil and it’s great to use as a moisturizer on its own without being greasy.
And to think I was skeptical at first when I initially read the article about the truth, in regards to the correct way to apply your makeup flawlessly, while also making it easily to last all day on your face!💕 So to sum everything up, the order I apply my face products are as followed:
1. Moisturizer
2. Translucent Powder
3. Setting Spray
4. Primer
5. Concealer/Foundation (optional)
6. ALL FINISHED!!!🥰
I absolutely love all of these makeup hacks. Very creative and informative as well. Blessings.
I save and sanitize my mascara wants and use which one works best for me at the time. Sometimes you just find an amazing wand that fits your lashes perfectly! I'm thinking of trying the new liquid metal wand so I can waste less plastic but we'll see!
Love these themes ❤️ always a fan. Stay well and safe to you and your family.
You can soak your nails is milk to strengthen them and use effervescent denture tabs to whiten the whites of your nails. Thank you for the tips and tricks. And for all your hard work keeping us informed.
"If I ever go anywhere again"
Girl I'm already mentally planning for a trip to Hawaii after this is all over 😅😅 #godwilling
It's Vegas for me😁
Did a Hawaiian cruise in Nov. Hawaii is beautiful. Lucky you - what a way to celebrate when this is all over.
I'm not sure I want to go anywhere for a while but you can bet the first one will be a biggie. Maybe I'll go to the Bahamas to Bryan and Sarah Baeumler's place.
I live in Honolulu Hawaii and we can't wait to share the Aloha again!
Planning for an anywhere but here.😁👍
No more clumps!
Really enjoyed reading the comments with such great beauty tips. Thank you all. ☺☺
I am living for this video! More please! 💕
