Can we manage with sneakers (not planning on too much hiking) for just walking on the walking path or would we need rainy boots/snow boots? Will the walking path be slippery
hi, swiss here from thun (right at lake thun near interlaken) ;) first of all, thank you for your videos, really enjoy watching them. I know it sounds weird because it‘s my home country, but i just do ;) so, since i live in the bernese oberland, i can give some additional information. when the kids have holidays, all the swiss families go up on the mountains to enjoy family time. those are the times where it’s really crowded. school breaks here are the following: - end of december + first week of january (winter break) - one week in the middle of february (ski break; yes that‘s a thing) - 3 weeks in april (spring break) - 5/6 weeks in july/august (summer break) - 3 weeks at the end of september and into october (fall/autumn break) every season has it‘s advantages and disatvantages. If you want to ski, then you‘ll have the best conditions in january/february. spring is the most colorful season where all the flowers and trees start to bloom. keep in mind that it‘s also pretty cloudy and that it rains a lot. summer is the most popular season to visit. most attractions are open, even some ski resorts in graubünden or wallis. everything is as green as on the pictures, the cows are on the fields etc. just really typical switzerland as you have it in your mind i guess. the only bad thing about summer can be the weather. in 2021 for example, there were heavy rainfalls, floods and it was pretty cold. you couldn‘t really go swim in the lakes or the public swimming pools. this past summer on the other hand was very hot with temperatures rising up to almost 40 degrees celsius. yes, that can happen too. there are mostly around 4 days in late july/start of august where it‘s really hot. the rest of summer is very unpredictable. what is really important tho, are the days with rain. in the video it says, that almost half of the month is rainy, but that‘s not really true. actually almost every morning and afternoon is sunny and hot, in the evening there are thunderstorms and summer rain, that‘s why. that is not a bad thing tho, it helps the environment to stay hydrated and not start to burn. in recent years there have been restrictions for making fires and using fireworks on 1st of august due to dry forests. so the verdict of summer: very unpredictable weather. fall/autumn is when the leaves start getting yellow/redish and fall off of the trees. also a very beautiful time to travel. just keep in mind that there can be a lot of fog in those months (ocotber/november). what time would i recommend? definitely may/june or late august until late september. temperatures are really good, the weather is mostly good, everything is open, not too pricey and the citizens don‘t have holidays (at least families). sorry for this long comment. i just wanted to „give my mustard“ to this topic, as we would say in swiss german ;) thanks again for the video, greetings from thun 🇨🇭🤩
Wow, hi and thanks so much for watching and for your kind compliments! It's an honor whenever a local tells us they enjoy our videos :) And thank you for the amazing advice on when to visit! We were thankfully gone during the flooding last June, but the videos we saw were pretty incredible. Also, we've spent a little time in Thun, but we'd love to make a video there next year. What ideas would you have for us in the area? Feel free to "give your mustard" anytime!! :)
Hey would you advise visiting interlaken over the Easter period (Easter weekend) or will it not be worth it looking to hike and just explore the scenery thanks!
@@CamJeffs1767 hey, sorry just saw your comment rn ;) easter is a great time for hiking. the trails should be open (if it‘s not too rainy) and everythings already green. just make sure to bring a rain coat, the weather can change any minute from sunny to really rainy.
@@sailikithathota5116 hm that‘s not an easy question. it is green in both months, so the train journeys will be beautiful. just bear in mind that both months are quite rainy. while may is the month where it slowly gets warm around 10-20C, september is the month where it gets colder again 25-15C. I guess the water temperature in september will be higher, while you can‘t swim in may. the thing is, the weather here can be really good one year and the other year it can be really bad. both months are pretty the same to be honest. you can wear shorts and a tshirt during the day, but in the mornings and evenings you should have something to cover up with
I came back from Switzerland yesterday... we went in the last week of September and came back after spending first month of October... we witnessed rain, sun, snow... we loved the weather
We shared most of our tips on here :) But there are often school holidays in the beginning of October, so we found that some small shops closed for a bit during this time. For the most part, though, you should find most everything to be open through the end of September, and most touristy things will be open in the beginning of October as well. Hope this helps!
October for the win... Just arrived in Interlaken 2 days ago from Australia and at first it was a sad and sorry affair with rain showers and cloudy... but what a difference a couple of days make. Today was amazing, and the views from Jungfraujoch were incredible. Have been watching your videos for some time now and the advise is amazing... Thank you 🙂
Just got back from Interlaken and wish we could have pushed the visit out to May. Awesome trip but lots of snow in the Alps and Shilthorn was blanketed in a snow storm when we visited. Your channel was a blessing as we chose the 1/2 day pass and the Berner Oberland pass. Even the SBB person we booked our tickets with did not know about the Berner Oberland pass and initially insisted it was not offered by SBB but she discovered after looking into it SBB did offer it. We booked our travel in Geneva for our whole trip. The SBB rep was very helpful though.
Both of you are doing wonderful job putting all helpful information about Switzerland. We just came back from 10day trip with some of your itinerary. Your Swiss pass information was excellent. all thanks to both of you for successfully trip.
I wish we could tell you what to expect but we've never been here during the month of December. Now that we live here, we're looking forward to our first December here!
Such a comprehensive research! Well done! Though March might not be the best, I am still coming next year for our 1st Anniversary and Honeymoon. Hope you can create a video about what to wear month by month. Thanks and more power!
Hi Krish! There's not a bad time to visit-always beautiful things to see and fun things to do no matter the time of year. And to top it off-it'll be your anniversary and honeymoon, so it'll really be something special! Thanks for watching our videos-we hope they continue to help you prepare for your trip!
Very helpful video! You guys deserve more likes and views. Planning to visit switzerland for the green scenery, wild flowers and falls, snowcapped mountains experience trains with best scenery and lake cruise. We do not plan to go for hiking or snow activities. We originally plan togo for august, and after watching your video , it seems that our interests are more on spring which is upto June. And i think it would be to late to be planning at this time. Would you recommend us going till the next spring next year or August this year would still be fine ?
Very useful information- I am planning my first trip to Switzerland and I was overwhelmed with the amount of options and not knowing which could work best
Aww we are SO happy to help!! Keep following along because we have more fun and helpful videos coming up soon (including the one dropping tomorrow!). We’re so glad to help you travel Switzerland!! 😊
@@AplinsintheAlps Hi Guys. I've actually been to Switzerland a number of times, but our last trip was in 2007 and a lot of things have changed since then and your videos have a lot of important up to date info. Thanks again and I'll keep an eye out for your next video. Cheers. Alan
Hi Jana & Brett. This is the best informative video of lot. We are planning a trip to zermatt & lauterbrunnen in April 2023. We are confused as a friend told me that April is quite wet and gloomy. However i have seen few contrary videos of April visit to these places. Kindly recommend best dates / week in April to visit Zermatt and Lauterbrunnen
Hi there! It's really impossible to know for sure what the weather will be like. The best anyone can do is use historical averages to have some kind of idea. We have a spreadsheet you can download from this video that has more of that data. Hopefully that will help!
Layers, layers, layers! I’ve been to Switzerland every month from April to September. Jana & Brett are spot on when they say it can vary every year. My go to packing for every trip are short sleeved tops, long sleeved tops, a fleece vest, a lightweight jacket, a good raincoat, and a neck scarf. On a cold trip up a mountaintop I’ll wear all of the above as the raincoat breaks the wind and holds in the body heat. I’ll also pack one pair of long pants and two pair of capris. Then, one day out before travel I look at the most current forecast on MeteoSwiss and adjust accordingly sometimes swapping out a pair of shorts for a capris and determining how many short sleeve vs long sleeve tops I take. Bottom line-don’t overpack. Travel, especially by the wonderful Swiss public transportation is so much easier. I carry a 21” suitcase (that’s checked because of my trekking poles) and a backpack. Keep up these videos, guys. They’re a great resource.
Laura shared some great tips, so if you follow those you'll do well! Especially in March, expect it to be cold, and potentially pretty rainy. Nothing to add to her points-she nailed it!
❤ keep doing what you’re doing, it sure did help us a lot, specially for not having any plans when we landed in Zurich. Y’all are the reason why we went straight to Interlaken (TCS Interlaken) to setup our basecamp
Tks for this amazing video! I’ve some doubts…I never visit Switzerland and also Interlaken on the last days of February and first days of March, can you please confirm to me if it’s mandatory to have winter/snow tires or if the “four all season” tires it’s allowed? Cause I will rent my car in France, and the car won’t have this “winter/snow” tires on the rental company, only this “four all season”. Also in Interlaken area, not on the Alpes, but at the regular highway…was necessary to use chains for the tires anytime?
Thank you for all the great videos you've made, I haven't been to Europe in over a decade and the information is such a great help. Question, if anyone knows -- are the main waterfalls, particularly Staubbach Falls, still going strong in late September-Early October?
We're happy to help, and that you get to return to Switzerland again! As for the waterfalls, it truly depends on how much rain they have in the summer. We've seen the falls gushing in some years, and nearly dried up in others. But if you're coming this year, we've had a lot of rain so far which is a good sign!
I love your videos I have been wanting to visit the alps for a long time and your videos have motivated to do so soon Question Do you Have itineraries if you’re going to visit Switzerland for about 10 days
We’re so happy to share our love for the Swiss Alps! We don’t have itineraries (yet!!) except for our 1-day guide to Mürren and Gimmelwald. You can check it out here: ➡️ aplinsinthealps.com/resources/1-day-guide-to-murren-gimmelwald-switzerland/
This is a great help thanks guys! I'm going to Zurich and traveling through Switzerland then flying out of Milan end of October. Would you guys suggest I make interlaken a hub where I get a hotel or airbnb and day trip out from there for a few days?
That should be a great time to visit! Interlaken is convenient as a hub if you’re planning to visit other cities (Bern, Lucerne, etc) or the lakes. However if you want to be in the mountains, then we recommend Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, Wengen, or Grindelwald. Hope that helps! 😊
Such an informative video. Thanks for uploading. One simple query, We are planning to visit Interlaken in late October to early November 2024. Is it worth visiting during that time?
Glad to help! That time of year is definitely considered shoulder season, and there will be some mountain transportation closed down for maintenance. Be sure to snag the free download where you can see what exactly will be opened/closed.
Hello! Please, if I go to the Interlaken region between 20th and 25th September, will I still get it all vivid beautiful green vegetation with plenty of water in the waterfalls? I'm planning to visit Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Oeschinensee and Staubifalls. Thank you!
We just finished a trip to the Jungfrau region the first week of August. I watched the weather and webcams for months leading up to our trip. If you want an idyllic summer experience with warm weather and sipping a drink at a mountain restaurant, do NOT book any earlier than mid-July. Any earlier and there might still be snow on the mountain attractions and playgrounds.
Great job doing your research! 🤓We had a VERY rainy spring all the way through late June, which is unusual. Usually you’re pretty much snow free by mid-June, but this year the snow lingered through early July. But you’re right, for the best summer weather July and August are best!
Hello guys, awesome video and I downloaded the spreadsheet for a hardcopy. I do have a question or request, I'm planning a trip to Europe in June or July (undecided) it's a tour that starts in Barcelona, Switzerland and ends in Paris. So because the time will be limited, I would like to contact you if you can recommend me what activities are worth going to. Switzerland stops: Geneva, Gruyeres, Gstaad, staad, Grindelwald, Lucerne, Zurich, Bern. I know I'm asking for much but what can you recommend to fully take advantage of these places to see.
Hi Katrina, what a fun trip you have planned! We're getting ready to offer consulting services, and would be happy to offer one to you when it's available. If you're interested, send us an email at janaandbrett@aplinsinthealps.com and we can notify you when those are setup. Glad to help!
You're right - it's pretty epic! We haven't been on it yet, but our favorite route is from Alpiglen to Brandegg! P.S. We've loved all of your comments as you watch through our channel. So grateful to share so much info with you as you plan your trip!
Hi there! Such a great question-in fact, we just scheduled a video where we share 15 foods to try near Interlaken, and exactly where to try them! Be on the lookout for that-it'll drop on August 22. Thanks for watching!
Would i be able to see snow capped mountains in September while traveling by Goldenpass line route and from the lakes in Interlaken? That's how ive always dreamt of Switzerland😊😊
Going to vitis Interlaken on a family cross-swiss trip in 2 weeks. Your videos really help prepping for this trip. Really looking forward to visiting Zermatt and Interlaken.
Hiii... Could I ask few doubts?? We r travelling to Swiss in March.. I wanted to know 1. if blausee would be covered in snow in that nonth 2. Can u cover lauterbrune , grindelwald, jagufrau top in one day? Or should we visit lauterbrune in another day? 3. How can I use golden pass express from interlaken so that I don't miss a day and somehow can reach zurich
Hi there! It would be a lot to visit Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald and Jungfraujoch in one day. We suggest taking 2 days for those activities! And the Golden Pass train reaches Lucerne and Montreux, not Zurich. So those would be separate trains. Hope that helps! If you have more questions, feel free to book a Consultation with us: www.aplinsinthealps.com/consultations
Hi! Can.we still catch greens when we go there by 2nd week of October or better to go there on September? Also, spending a week in Jungrau Region, which area should we book for airbnb as our base. Thanks!!!

For a trip to murren would you choose to visit in late June or late August? Looking for what everyone wants-best chance of weather for hiking/views and not terrible crowds
I love your videos, very informative. My husband & I will go to Jungfraujoch (day tour on our own, but we have RT tickets starting fr Eiger Express Gondola to Top of Europe) this November. My problem is how we can get to Grindelwald Terminal (the one with Eiger Express Gondola). A bit confused what ticket to get from Spiez (actually we will be coming from Milan going to Spiez via Eurocity 50). Do not know what destination to type so we don't have train tickets yet from Spiez. Not sure if Grinderwald Terminal Train Station (the one from Interlaken) is the same as Grindelwald Terminal (with Eiger Express Gondola). Please help. Thank you very much.
Hi Juana! Yes, Grindelwald Terminal (also Grindelwald Terminal Train Station) is where you go to take the Eiger Express. If you watch our Complete Guide to Visiting Jungfraujoch (ua-cam.com/video/_3f2SebJ6es/v-deo.html), we show you how to get there and tell you everything you need to know. Hope that helps!
Yes, October has been beautiful! And while we don't think the food sucks, we do agree that grocery shopping is a great way to stretch your budget. Have you had any food experiences you really enjoyed?
@@AplinsintheAlps food quality in restaurants is really low and prices are super high, we paid 20 franks in Lauterbrunnen for literally 4 slices of ham in a plate (the plate name was table of cured meats), in my country the food is way tastier, not even mentioning the price, i would be inclined to recommend a restaurant even with steep prices if the food was good, but unfortunately the only good experience of food here was just going to a coop and cook in our Airbnb, even the cheese fondue is not good, a lot of hype tbh
Well, unfortunately you're right about a lot of that. We spent almost three months there this summer and ate in a restaurant maybe twice, because it's a budget buster and the value often just isn't good (especially compared to eating in nearby countries like Italy!) We still think there are good options and fun experiences, but it takes a lot more effort to find them. And most of our meals are from the grocery store too! :)
I'm planning my solo trip during October next year, which is my birthday month as well. Thanks to your inputs and the comments here, I think I'm gonna have a good time in October. So glad I found your page. Amazing videos guys. The research you do, the efforts you put in, I'm truly thankful to you. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers.

I will be traveling to Switzerland in September. It is a train trip over 8 days from Zurich to Lucerne - Montreux- Lausanne - Zermatt - St Moritz. Would you be able to advise what the weather is like during September in Switzerland please? I need to decide how to pack 🥹
Hey, I am planning to travel in the month of December, I saw from your guide that most rail lines are closed for part of the month. Would this be the case for the Christmas - New Year week as well? Also, given the shorter winter days, do shops and restaurants in Interlaken and neighbouring towns close early in the evening? Thanks in advance for all the help from your content already.
We were thinking of visiting lauterbrunnen area mid to late April. How is the weather and overall natural beauty compared to July to Aug? Is it worth spending the extra money for peak season?
Hi there! Be sure to check out our commentary at the end (if you haven't already). Springtime might be the most beautiful time of the entire year. But the tradeoff is that if you like to hike, there's often too much snow to do so up in the mountains. However maybe not this year-it's been an incredibly warm winter!!
You think last week of October, all the cable cars 🚠 in the interlarken and grindlewald are closed? As i hear in your videos that due to yearly service & maintenance a lot of these activities with kids are closed?
Be sure to download our free spreadsheet in the blog or join our weekly email list - we share seasonal opening/closures and where to find the specific info! www.aplinsinthealps.com/newsletter
Hello Vaishali! Be sure to check out our Complete Guide to Jungfraujoch (ua-cam.com/video/_3f2SebJ6es/v-deo.html) where we answer your question in-depth as well as others you might have before you visit. Hope it helps!
Hi, there are 2 options to go up to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken. Via Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. From Grindelwald there are 2 Options: by train or a new cable car. Here you can find the timetables for the Lauterbrunnen Variant as an example. www.fahrplanentwurf.ch/fileadmin/sta_pdf_fields/2023/311.pdf please pay attention to the date at the top !!
Hi there! As you probably heard in the video, it really depends on what you're there for. For hiking higher in the mountains we prefer September. If you want to see more snow in the mountains, wildflowers, and waterfalls, choose June. Hope that helps!
Thank you for the great video. I have a few questions. I'm going to travel in early September, is it raining a lot on average? And is the Männlichen Panorama hiking trail left with a lot of green?
Check our free download to see stats about the weather! But of course it varies year to year. We've had so much rain this summer that I'd assume the Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg trail will be greener than usual :)
Hi guys... would like to ask something.. ive been to Lauterbrunnen before but did not manage to go to jungfrau due to time... can i ask if: i can do jungfraujog via lauterbrunnen + wengen and back via grindelwald with side trip to First and harder kulm and back to lauterbrunnen in a whole day?
Hi there! Good question! The short answer is, that would be a very LONG day. It's doable, but you probably wouldn't have the best experience of any place if you're trying to see all of them. However, if you really want to make it happen, here's what we recommend... Take the earliest possible train to Jungfraujoch. It takes about 1.5 hrs to get up there, which means you'd make it up probably sometime around 9am. Most people spend 2.5-3 hrs up there, which would mean you could wrap up around noon. From there, it's about an hour 45 minutes to Grindelwald First, putting you up there around 2pm. The nice thing is that Harder Kulm is open late, so you can go there in the Evening, leaving plenty of time to get back to Lauterbrunnen. So this is absolutely doable, but expect to be exhausted by the end of the day :)
@Aplins in the Alps thank you so much for putting up this suggestion...i have been to Lauterbrunnen and wengen before but not in grindelwald and jungfraujoch... hopefully all will be smooth... indeed it would be a very packed-full day... we are thinking that harder kulm could cap the day and seing the sunset from there. Thanks a bunch...
Hi, we are contemplating between late April to May and late July to Aug for our next trip to Swiss for anniversary photoshoot. Any recommendations that u can share with us which is of a better timeline for us to take beautiful pics? Thank you ☺️
Hi Irene! What a fun photoshoot you have planned! Here's what we can say for sure-this place is stunning in April-May. If you want wildflowers, gushing waterfalls, and plenty of snow in still in the mountains, you'll get gorgeous photos then. Definitely download our spreadsheet so you know which mountain trains and lifts will be running and won't miss out on somewhere you really want to visit. Hope this helps!
Hi! There is something nice about visit Switzerland any time of the year, but that depends on the activities you enjoy. If you download our free spreadsheet, it may help you decide what's best for you :) aplinsinthealps.com/best-time-to-visit-switzerland-a-month-by-month-guide/
yeah, depending on the year kids have school breaks for around 13/14 weeks. minimum for adults with employment is 4 weeks, but most employers give 5 or 6.
Our family of four is coming to the region this December from Brisbane, this has been helpful thanks. We aren’t skiers so do you think it’s better to be based Interlaken and do day trips rather than keep changing accomodation to experience Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen?
Awesome! Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken are all pretty close to each other by train (30-40mins) so any of those are great places to stay! But if you’re wanting to venture out of the mountains, then Interlaken is the most convenient place to stay. Does that answer your question? Have a wonderful family vacation!!
Hi! Swiss person here 👋🙂 i've just seen your comment and understand your confusion, based on the description of May in the video. I'll try to explain the situation in May: Weather and especially Temperatures are really depending on the altitude you're at. In the high altitudes in the Alps, May is still quite snowy (but we're talking the tippy tops, really high up) in the first two weeks. In the second half of the month there will probably be hardly any restrictions on gondolas and trains. So, if you are planning to hike in the mountains i would suggest the last to weeks of May or the first two weeks of June. This year though, we have a severe lack of snow in the Mountains, due to a incredibly dry winter and stuff is probably going to open up a bit earlier. Now, if you are planning to do more of a City-Trip (for example: Zurich, Berne, Lucerne, Chur, Bellinzona, Geneva) all of May will be great. In these altitudes springtime will be in full bloom by then. I would say May in the Cities is the start of what we call "T-Shirt Weather", where you can go about your day wearing only a light zip-up Hoodie and a T-shirt instead of a heavy warm jacket. In May we use the so called "Onion-Principle", to choose our clothing, which basically means layers, layers, layers. So you have the possibility to "peel" youself out of your clothes (like an onion) throughout the day. 😅 We are very "outdoors-y" and active people, so there are fun activites to choose from all year round. Hope this was any help!
@@Mimi............... Hi, and thank you for your detailed reply. I really appreciate it and it helped me clear up the confusion. I understand that May is a bit tricky with weather but unfortunately it's the only month i can travel this year. My trip includes 4 days in Grindelwald ie 10-14 May. (I decided to stay a bit away from the main road and just a 5-7 min walk from the train station) Do you think any of the hiking trails will be open then? Especially around Grindelwald? I would like to visit some other villages in the region especially Lauterbrunnen and Wengen etc. The other part of my trip includes 2 days in Zermatt and 1 day in Lucerne before I head to Zurich and fly out from there. I'm not really a big fan of cities and prefer smaller towns and villages.

hi, swiss here from thun (right at lake thun near interlaken) ;)
first of all, thank you for your videos, really enjoy watching them. I know it sounds weird because it‘s my home country, but i just do ;)
so, since i live in the bernese oberland, i can give some additional information. when the kids have holidays, all the swiss families go up on the mountains to enjoy family time. those are the times where it’s really crowded. school breaks here are the following:
- end of december + first week of january (winter break)
- one week in the middle of february (ski break; yes that‘s a thing)
- 3 weeks in april (spring break)
- 5/6 weeks in july/august (summer break)
- 3 weeks at the end of september and into october (fall/autumn break)
every season has it‘s advantages and disatvantages.
If you want to ski, then you‘ll have the best conditions in january/february.
spring is the most colorful season where all the flowers and trees start to bloom. keep in mind that it‘s also pretty cloudy and that it rains a lot.
summer is the most popular season to visit. most attractions are open, even some ski resorts in graubünden or wallis. everything is as green as on the pictures, the cows are on the fields etc. just really typical switzerland as you have it in your mind i guess. the only bad thing about summer can be the weather. in 2021 for example, there were heavy rainfalls, floods and it was pretty cold. you couldn‘t really go swim in the lakes or the public swimming pools. this past summer on the other hand was very hot with temperatures rising up to almost 40 degrees celsius. yes, that can happen too. there are mostly around 4 days in late july/start of august where it‘s really hot. the rest of summer is very unpredictable. what is really important tho, are the days with rain. in the video it says, that almost half of the month is rainy, but that‘s not really true. actually almost every morning and afternoon is sunny and hot, in the evening there are thunderstorms and summer rain, that‘s why. that is not a bad thing tho, it helps the environment to stay hydrated and not start to burn. in recent years there have been restrictions for making fires and using fireworks on 1st of august due to dry forests. so the verdict of summer: very unpredictable weather.
fall/autumn is when the leaves start getting yellow/redish and fall off of the trees. also a very beautiful time to travel. just keep in mind that there can be a lot of fog in those months (ocotber/november).
what time would i recommend? definitely may/june or late august until late september. temperatures are really good, the weather is mostly good, everything is open, not too pricey and the citizens don‘t have holidays (at least families).
sorry for this long comment. i just wanted to „give my mustard“ to this topic, as we would say in swiss german ;)
thanks again for the video, greetings from thun 🇨🇭🤩
Wow, hi and thanks so much for watching and for your kind compliments! It's an honor whenever a local tells us they enjoy our videos :)

Feel free to "give your mustard" anytime!! :)

Hey thanks for this. But if i ask you may or September. What would you suggest. I want the beautiful views of the train journey

But there are often school holidays in the beginning of October, so we found that some small shops closed for a bit during this time. For the most part, though, you should find most everything to be open through the end of September, and most touristy things will be open in the beginning of October as well. Hope this helps!
I don't know why this video doesn't have higher views!! Thank you for this, really helps me with planning my family's dream Switzerland trip ❤

Thank you so much! It’s people like the two of you that make creating videos so rewarding!
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for watching, and we're so glad you've had a great experience in Switzerland! Those Autumn skies are just a little bit bluer, aren't they?!
You guys are great. You should consider starting a travel website and monetize it
Thanks for your encouragement! We do actually have a website and sell Swiss Travel Guides 😊 Its been a joy to help people visit this beautiful place!
Thanks so much for sharing about your trip! So glad you knew exactly what passes to get and that you helped the SBB attendant learn something new:)
Hi, did you visited in May?

Very helpful video! You guys deserve more likes and views. Planning to visit switzerland for the green scenery, wild flowers and falls, snowcapped mountains experience trains with best scenery and lake cruise. We do not plan to go for hiking or snow activities. We originally plan togo for august, and after watching your video , it seems that our interests are more on spring which is upto June. Awesome, we are so happy to help!! 😊
Hello. How is weather now. Anything must visit in this 2 weeks. Considering the rains n cloudy mountain tops.
hey! Can you do a video on what to wear in different temperature in Switzerland? I come from an summer all year round country so I’m not pretty sure😅
In which month are you planning to travel? the packing list from laura is definitely a great way to have every piece you need :)
@@tobimael Mid March !
Laura shared some great tips, so if you follow those you'll do well! Especially in March, expect it to be cold, and potentially pretty rainy. Nothing to add to her points-she nailed it!
we were just there in September and we think that was the sweet spot. We’re ready to go back just by looking at all the pix and vids we took…❤
Early September is such a great time to visit! We’re so glad you guys had a blast and can’t wait to visit again 😊
❤ keep doing what you’re doing, it sure did help us a lot, specially for not having any plans when we landed in Zurich. Y’all are the reason why we went straight to Interlaken (TCS Interlaken) to setup our basecamp
Yet again - a brilliant video by you legends ! Honest, open, informative, realistic. Love your work !
Thanks for such an encouraging comment! We're so glad you enjoy our videos and find them valuable!
I love your videos
I have been wanting to visit the alps for a long time and your videos have motivated to do so soon
Question
Do you Have itineraries if you’re going to visit Switzerland for about 10 days

This is a great help thanks guys! I'm going to Zurich and traveling through Switzerland then flying out of Milan end of October.
Would you guys suggest I make interlaken a hub where I get a hotel or airbnb and day trip out from there for a few days?
That should be a great time to visit! Interlaken is convenient as a hub if you’re planning to visit other cities (Bern, Lucerne, etc) or the lakes. However if you want to be in the mountains, then we recommend Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, Wengen, or Grindelwald. Hope that helps! 😊

We do too 🥰
Such an informative video.

What would be the best type of coat (woman's) for Christmas in Zurich? I was thinking peacoat but is it warm enough?
Hello! Please, if I go to the Interlaken region between 20th and 25th September, will I still get it all vivid beautiful green vegetation with plenty of water in the waterfalls? I'm planning to visit Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Oeschinensee and Staubifalls. Thank you!
Hi there! It really depends on how hot it is this summer and how much rain we get. Hard to say unfortunately!
@@AplinsintheAlps thank you for replying me! But I still have a good chance, right? Haha

Hiii... Could I ask few doubts??
We r travelling to Swiss in March..
I wanted to know
1. if blausee would be covered in snow in that nonth
Watching this while being in interlaken in october, i must say october rules (food here sucks thou, better to cook your own food)
We spent almost three months there this summer and ate in a restaurant maybe twice, because it's a budget buster and the value often just isn't good (especially compared to eating in nearby countries like Italy!)
We still think there are good options and fun experiences, but it takes a lot more effort to find them. And most of our meals are from the grocery store too! :)
I'm planning my solo trip during October next year, which is my birthday month as well. Thanks to your inputs and the comments here, I think I'm gonna have a good time in October.

Hello! Is there any travel solo/groups in Switzerland? Hehe. I'm travelling alone and would like to meet other travellers. 😊
Hi there! We're sure those groups exist, but we don't personally know of any. So sorry!

Oh we planning visit Switzerland on June. Am I pick a not that good month to visit? 😢
June should be a nice the to visit! Although the higher trails may still have snow early in the month.
Early June vs Mid-Sept , which one is better overall?
Hi there! As you probably heard in the video, it really depends on what you're there for. For hiking higher in the mountains we prefer September. If you want to see more snow in the mountains, wildflowers, and waterfalls, choose June. Hope that helps!

Hi guys... would like to ask something.. ive been to Lauterbrunnen before but did not manage to go to jungfrau due to time... can i ask if: i can do jungfraujog via lauterbrunnen + wengen and back via grindelwald with side trip to First and harder kulm and back to lauterbrunnen in a whole day?

@@AplinsintheAlps December 10
yeah, depending on the year kids have school breaks for around 13/14 weeks. minimum for adults with employment is 4 weeks, but most employers give 5 or 6.
@@AplinsintheAlps awesome thanks, these videos are really helpful - especially the one about the train passes! ♥️
Is May not a good time to visit then ? I'm a bit confused.
It can be a great time! It just really depends on what your priorities are. It will be absolutely beautiful, that's for sure!
We are very "outdoors-y" and active people, so there are fun activites to choose from all year round.
(I decided to stay a bit away from the main road and just a 5-7 min walk from the train station)
Do you think any of the hiking trails will be open then? Especially around Grindelwald?
I would like to visit some other villages in the region especially Lauterbrunnen and Wengen etc.
The other part of my trip includes 2 days in Zermatt and 1 day in Lucerne before I head to Zurich and fly out from there.
I'm not really a big fan of cities and prefer smaller towns and villages.
