Motorola's 2 cameras actually are 4 in reality👍Motorola is No.1 in this respect : 1. Main camera, 2. Ultrawide, 3. Ultrawide doubles as an excellent macro camera, 4. Portrait mode includes depth sensor.
And all of them are miserable. For me the problem of Motorola is the camera.

The Moto G84 5G has a big problem. It's a sound. The outgoing volume is quite weak. the speakers of the phone low sound. Bluetooth and 3.5 jack also have low sound. It doesn't matter how you connect any device it will play quietly. You will need to turn them on almost to the maximum. Standard melodies play loudly. However, if you turn on something from UA-cam or other apps, the volume is -50%. Most likely, the problem is software, but the problem has been around for six months. There are many negative reviews about this problem on the Internet and on the Motorola support site. It seems that Motorola is not going to solve it.
The thing that sold it for me is the headphone jack.
I was going to opt for the G40 neo but after seeing it hadn't got a headphone jack I went against it
Hi Ash, im thinking of buying one of these but i want to know how good the speakers are? The best ive heard is the HTC one m9 phone from years ago and im trying to find something as good. Any recommendations?
I currently have an Axon 7 purely because it has a headphone dac and stereo speakers, the speakers in it are good but not at the same level as the M9.

I agree on both parts, processor choice could’ve been better and Motorola have never been the best with updates 😞

I like it but the big problem with Motorola,actually one of them as their software update policiy is bordering on unacceptable these days,is that you buy a new model and a few months later it's dropped and yet another budget Moto comes out.
Yeah definitely. Although I’ve been using an Edge 20 for a couple of weeks and that’s on Android 13. But I’d imagine it won’t get anymore updates now
It's okay for me because I usually use a phone for not over two years 😂😂 the battery usually gets old after two years 😊
Running the latest version of Android is not essential especially as there is very little difference anymore. Your app experience will be identical and Motorola gives 3 years of security updates

I've been using this phone for three months now. I strongly advise against updating to Android 14. After the update, the phone has become very glitchy. It worked perfectly on Android 13.
Did you have a choice, could you have stayed on 13?

How does this compare to the new Moto G54?
In tests from India I've seen main camera is on G54 is a little bit worse. But also worth noting that in EU countries G65 is sold without an Ultrawide Lens which also doubles as an excellent macro camera on G84! And of course G54 has a LCD screen that is nowhere as bright and colourful as the excellent pOLED screen on G84.
LCD screen, which is not even half the brilliance of these 1300 nits peak brightness.

The Bluetooth output volume is very low.

I struggled for TWO days trying to set up this phone and FAILED. There are also far too many distracting pop-ups from Motorola in the initial processing. It went back and the search to replace my Huawei P30 lite continues.
Those sample images are well oversharpened....
Standard p40 in 2023?
Was questionable when it released if it was worth it without GMS, now itll be an even harder sell

Is this as good as the Samsung A15 5G?
I think the Moto overall is better, but Samsung has the advantage of being a bit newer with Android 14 out the box and probably more updates but I think the Moto is better in most other areas.

I trying G84 in shop, and I must tell, it's good display on eyes. Normally i don't like OLED, but g84 was good. Moto use good Oleds.

Just bought one of these from Very for £160 with £28 off promo code, I was a Xiaomi user until they removed headphone jack and sd slot on their pro models which is a deal breaker for me, this is actually better than my redmi note 11 pro spec wise so I patiently await delivery

@@valentineamaefuna I got the promo code through a txt message link that Very sent me, I'd not bought anything from them for a while, originally I was looking at Xiaomi on Amazon and wasn't happy at their backward steps, I followed the Very link and found this G84 so started doing my research and ended up here, delivery should be today
@@ashdoestech Well I've had the phone a little over 24 hrs and falling out of love with it already, double tap to wake has stopped working and a Google search of this problem appears to be widespread , Bluetooth volume isn't that loud at all and I'm seeing a bit a laggyness here and there, I'll give it few more days and if problems persist I'll send it back
Thats a shame, I guess the only thing from that list I came across was the low Bluetooth volume, but I've found that with most Motorolas I've used.
Performance was lag free for me the whole time.

As always - the hardware is pretty good. However, soon after getting this phone, it was practically FORCING me to update Android, with no option of turning these update prompts off. Tech companies blackmail you into updating your phone, by threatening you saying your phone isn't secure. However, the updates are really only there for one reason - to slow your phone down and overload its processing capability, so you buy a new one in 2.5 years time. Instead of anti-virus software, we need anti-update software to stop tech companies doing this.
