Amazing review! A video of an actual use of the camera and its app and features. Which one would you pick (regarding camera): POCO M6 PRO 8/256 or this MOTO G84? Thanks!
Whenever you test camera phones, you need to show the responsiveness speed of clicking the capture button on the stock camera app. Samsung's A54 is notoriously slow for example. This was a big miss from this video...
It is slow because of a stupid interface option they implemented in recent models, namely being able to use the same shutter button for both photo and video. If you hold the shutter button on the A54, it starts recording video, if you just tap it, it takes a photo. So, that's where the delay comes from - the software is "waiting" to see if you lift your finger from the button (and then it takes a photo, after you have lifted the finger = delay) or if you continue to hold the button pressed (and it will record video). My old S7 doesn't have that "feature" and it takes photos instantly, as soon as you touch the shutter button. The A34/A54 (and possibly all models using the same camera interface) take a photo only after you have lifted your finger off the screen.
Hi, just bought the same phone, but the videos look very grainy or have a lot of noise, what do you recommend? Is there any other app better for recording videos?

Well all tests basically show that A34 is way better in terms of camera. In most tests A35 camera gets ( 1-5 school grades where 1 is best) around 2,2 and G84 ~2,8

It's just a shame that Motorola has a terrible update policy. This phone is still on Android 13 from 2022 in 2024, meanwhile, the phones from 2021, such as Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has already been upgraded to Android 14 in 2023. Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is a former flagship phone, but it's a phone from 2021, and this Motorola Moto G84 5G is a phone from 2023. And to be honest, the Motorolas Moto G84 5G and G54 5G are the most important phones for Lenovo right now. Just a few people are buying their flagships. Basically, they aren't great enough, especially if Samsung has seven years Android updates for its S24 (and later) Series, and Google Pixels 8 and 8 Pro, too and every month, the security updates, meanwhile, Motorola is much behind. Just their budget phones, such as G54 5G and G84 5G are amazing for the money. Especially the G54 5G for £149/£159, for this price, you won't be able to get a better phone on the market. They're pushing their budget phones everywhere, and especially for someone on budget. They are such amazing devices. You'll get all the important stuff, without paying a hefty sum for the ultimate ultra cutting-edge flagships. It's helping Lenovo to get a better market share with the Motorola brand. But, the G84 5G is quite overpriced, in comparison to its "sister," G54 5G. The Motorola Moto G84 5G has a better display, 12 GB RAM, instead of 8GB RAM, a very slightly more powerful chip, a larger display, but that's all. And it is not worth paying a quarter of the price more. In the case of paying £159 for the Motorola Moto G54 5G, the reasonable higher price for the Motorola Moto G84 5G would be £180. Lenovo wants to get Motorola between the three, the most important, the biggest players in the smartphone industry, but unfortunately for them, it's just a wet dream. I used to have the Motorolas in the nineties. They were great. But now, I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G as my spare phone, and Motorola Moto G54 5G, just because I love the value of the phone for £149 I paid for on Amazon. Motorola would be great, if they would significantly improve their update policy. According to some sources, two Android updates are coming to the Motorolas G54 5G and G84 5G, so just last year's Android 14, and the upcoming Android 15 from this year. On the other hand, Samsung is offering four years of Android upgrades and five years of security updates, even for its budget phones. And that's why their after-sale value will be much higher.
A British guy talking $$?🤣 Would be great if you could compare this with the G54. It seems it's cameras are a bit less capable, as a trade off for faster storage and better battery. Would be fantastic to see how much difference it makes in real life! Stay safe!
