One thing about Brown. Edmonton fans can see his effort and heart, all season long. Ya, his numbers look bad, but he has always played his heart out, and contributed in any way he could. He's never been a floater out there. He takes too much pride in his game to do that.
There is a reason he got a standing ovation when he scored his first goal of the season, even as flukey as it may have been, recovering from that injury. He's struggled through it all season, but never took a night off, or even a shift off. Oilers fans love the guy, and rightly so. He's the epitome of a heart player.
You make a good point. His coach recognized his contribution and kept him in the lineup because he earned the spot every night.

@@rebeltvr6046 Lemieux's goal was incredible, but several things to keep in mind. It was really 1-on-1, not 3, as you said. The third player was a mile back, and the second defenseman focused completely on the Penguin's trailer, who was not far behind. The defenseman who did engage blew the play totally. No offense, but this was no comparison to McD's goal.
@@nopenopenope131 If Lemieux was a 1 on 1, then McDavid's was at best a 1 on 2. Also, Lemieux started in his own zone, so longer distance, and then also Lemieux scored, not assisted. And most of all, Lemieux won the Cup that year. McDavid must win the Cup or his goal won't be in the same league as Lemieux's
@@rebeltvr6046 Well, I agree that there are different aspects of each of the two plays. But to me 33 years ago it was such a different game and at different speeds. Lemieux looked to be at half-trot while McD was sprinting. And I don't think winning the cup has anything to do with this discussion. These are individual efforts; winning the cup is all about team effort. But it's all good.
McDavid was absolutely brilliant. On goal #3, Bob had taken away the top half of the net, a place from which McJesus has scored at that angle so many times. So McJ goes low, I think hitting Bob's LEFT skate, not right. Goal #4 was just insane. Kudos, Oilers.
McDavid is playing 4D chess against goalies. Every goalie is watching tons of his tape and cheating a bit against his tendencies. So McDavid adjusts and just keeps on beating them.
If somehow, someway the oilers pull this unreal comeback with the fairy tale ending it will cement him as the best nhl player of all time along with Gretzky. Let’s go oilers

As a Oiler fan from day one Mr. G will always be the GOAT. Watching those first 9 years in Edmonton was incredible. His 50th goal in 39 games was iconic. Connor is now the reward for kicking McTavish and Lowe to the curb to close the decade of despair. This is what we have been watching most nights with MR. McD. Win or not Edmonton is the winner. We get to watch him again next year.

Game 4 Oilers made 🤯 shots (perfect goals), FLA likely knew it'd be back home. BUT, after a 1-8 blowout it's rough to bounce back, C. Brown is healthy, McDude top, yet Skinner shows he can be porous. Game 6 will be fast hyped loud yet FLA have less pressure so it's 50/50. If FLA rampage the net I say Skinner leaks = game over! Drasaitl ribs are prob baked!

Nah McDavid loves to go high from the sharp angle and bank it in off the goalies helmet when they go down. Bob was aware of that danger and so stayed on his feet, but that then opened up the bottom for Connor to bank it in off Bob's skate instead.
Bobrovsky , even that he looked silly, didnt go into RVH because he knows how McDavid tortured goalies topshelf from that position in the past. McDavid is just from another planet and decided to go low on bob based on his position. It was like a chess game
