Just in time for Planet Zoo: Arid Animal Pack. Also, the answer to the trivia question is the brown hyena (I remember the aardwolves in the night house at Cincinnati).
Ohhh my gosh, that leopard habitat!! And the theming 😍 your commentary in this episode is hilarious, but you also raised a really important issue with the Arabian oryx and the importance of conservation dedicated zoos!
I've been going to the Living Desert for the past 30 years, it is truly underrated as a zoo. There is a lot more coming to this zoo in the next coming years.
Whoo-hoo! In fact, the new Planet Zoo Arid Animal Pack is coming soon to Steam in 2 weeks! Also, Zak, try to visit the Woodland Park Zoo very soon! And plus, 4 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend.... 1) When is the Oakland Zoo's female African Elephant, Donna, moving to the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee? 2) What are the names of the 2 zebras from the Oakland Zoo that passed away so far from the past years? 3) Which white rhinoceros at Disney's Animal Kingdom passed away this month? 4) How many new lions would you predict the SF Zoo's male African Lion, Jasiri, to have? Rattle my Regaliceratops horns!🐘🦏🦓🦁
You should do a video on the Phoenix zoo...AKA...the zoo that saved the Arabian Oryx from extinction. Their expansion called Predator Passage will be opening later this year.
Would you ever do a video on some more of the Detroit Zoo's exhibits? Amphibiville the aviary / butterfly house and the great apes of Harambee might be a bit dated but there's so much history at the Detroit Zoo think it might be worth a video or two
I may go to the Living desert zoo for my birthday and collect the 2023 map because in the past I have been collecting every map and seeing the progress of their zoo growing every year.
For your question prompt, I'm curious if you ever spent time when you were younger imagining what your zoo would look like if you were able to create your own, or if I was the only one who did that😅 Even if you didn't, if you were able build your own zoo with complete creative control what are a few animals/exhibits you would include?
When I went in 2022 in the African area there were Eurasian black vultures, griffin vultures and the marabu living with the addra gazelles. They also had the most beautiful wild dog pack chase down the crows and doves, one even caught a dove.
Are you going to record the Cincinnati Zoo's new exhibit when it arrives - Black Bear Ridge which is supposedly coming this year. Its where the Polar Bears use to live, I guess they are phasing them out.
Manatee Springs was actually not supposed to be covered this year. With the delay of Bear Ridge opening later than scheduled, that means three episodes with bears would have to be released in close proximity. So its episode will be saved for early next year.
I had no idea this was in California, and I live in San Diego. Lol. I need to visit my friend who just moved there! I always confuse this zoo with the ‘other’ desert zoo, in Arizona…
Thank you! I think about returning to Detroit al the time, but I feel like it run its course on the channel already. If I were to visit again, I would film the amphibian house, and great apes. Other than that, the rest of the zoo is repetitive and its famous for my biggest pet peeve - exhibit species in the wrong geographical area.
Oh man, so many cool animals in this one, and I got to learn of another Zoo that has the Striped Hyena! Awesome job as always, my friend. Can't wait for the next one!
Not really a question but I really suggest the Sedgwick County Zoo in Kansas. They have the 3rd largest elephant enclosure and an incredibly immersive gorilla exhibit
What are your thoughts about zoos having free roaming animals throughout the whole park? Ex: Brookfield Zoo having Peacocks roam in the majority of zoo and might even appear in some exhibits. If you like it, is there an animal you like to see to have this kind of opportunity? Ideally, of course.
I wish every single zoo had at least one species that could roam around year round. I thought it was hilarious to run into guineafowl at Brookfield in the outdoor Tropic World trail. I also really miss the peafowls walking around Cincinnati. They even bred but apparently too many guests kept harassing the offspring. Eventually they went down to just having peacocks but were also phased out. Idealistically I think it would be awesome to see some sort of primate free to roam about in certain areas. I think Houston did that with tamarins at one point.
Really interesting how this zoo has an Amur leopard featured, rather than any other of the subspecies. Persian, African or Indian would work better for a desert themed zoo but I'm glad to see how many zoos participate in the breeding program to save these cats
Something else I learned in the beginning of this video is the restroom was called the CHOO. That is my wife's maiden name. I have to point that out because my name is John, witch is the something. 😂😉
If you suddenly woke up aa an animal in a Zoo what would you be and Why? I hope you have a wonderful day my friend and hopefully you didn't get super rained on lol

If you enjoy things like the hyenas, there are a series of live cams in Africa that cover watering holes. You can choose to watch them anytime, day or night but if you wish to only see when animals pass by, they will put out clips. Do a search for Africam live cameras. You will see some very cool animals!

Do you prefer the Living Desert Zoo to have elephants there?🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Just in time for Planet Zoo: Arid Animal Pack. Also, the answer to the trivia question is the brown hyena (I remember the aardwolves in the night house at Cincinnati).
I can’t wait for the arid animal pack ar you? I love the sand cat or is it a sand cat?
Gradually coming around to the arid pack, and excitement for those animals brought me here :)
You made me love zoos
Ohhh my gosh, that leopard habitat!! And the theming 😍 your commentary in this episode is hilarious, but you also raised a really important issue with the Arabian oryx and the importance of conservation dedicated zoos!
I really like your mix of admiration for zoos and poking fun of them here and there.
Thanks my nigga

Nice tour and the next for the zoo sounds nice. To answer your question the Brown Hyena. 🙂👍

Some say that the Arabian Oryx was the genesis of the Unicorn.
Side on, the antelope seems to have one horn.
Arabian oryx are also exhibited at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center at Glen Rose, Texas.
Ur vids are the best

@@ZooTours wasn’t the master plan suppose to redo the polar bear habitat, not black bears?
That's correct, but by AZA rules, they do not have the behind the scenes space for polar bears.
Fantastic video, Zach!
Definitely Speke's with the hornbills.
I had no idea this was in California, and I live in San Diego. Lol. I need to visit my friend who just moved there! I always confuse this zoo with the ‘other’ desert zoo, in Arizona…
Another great episode from zoos! Do you ever plan on going back to the Detroit Zoo?
Thank you!

What is the full species list of Madagascar at the Florida aquarium
Would you ever come to the Riverbanks Zoo in SC?!?!?
Oh man, so many cool animals in this one, and I got to learn of another Zoo that has the Striped Hyena!
Awesome job as always, my friend. Can't wait for the next one!
Wow
Not really a question but I really suggest the Sedgwick County Zoo in Kansas. They have the 3rd largest elephant enclosure and an incredibly immersive gorilla exhibit
Yes,it’s so nice

Hi for your question prompt I wonder what animals do you wish was for common in North American Zoos. For me It's Gelada's
Do you plan on ever heading back to Houston. Houston Zoo's had a lot of new additions since your last vid there.
End of the year!
Question, are you looking forward to cover Proboscis Monkeys and platypi in your channel?
Zootours do you happen to play planet zoo you have so much inspiration?
Will you ever do Rhino Reserve in Cincinnati? That is where my favorite specific animal is. It’s Kuvua the okapi
Cape Hunting Dog
became
African Wild Dog
became
Painted Dog
what's next?
Lucky we have scientific names!
Really interesting how this zoo has an Amur leopard featured, rather than any other of the subspecies. Persian, African or Indian would work better for a desert themed zoo but I'm glad to see how many zoos participate in the breeding program to save these cats
Pretty sure none of those can be found in any AZA Zoo - at least non hybrids.
I think there is 1 in this place in California, my friend has told me about it, I'll ask him for the name and edit this comment when I find it.
Will u ever visit Bronx?
That will be answered this Friday:)
Something else I learned in the beginning of this video is the restroom was called the CHOO. That is my wife's maiden name. I have to point that out because my name is John, witch is the something. 😂😉

Do you know where the Andean bears are currently being housed while Bear Hallow is being constructed?
Answer: Brown Hyena, but as far as I am aware none are in the US.
1:00 squirrel
What zoo has the most rare animals(or animals only found in that zoo)
From my research, it looks like the Dallas World Aquarium might take that title, at least in America.
Dod nobody notice the wee animal run past the entrance
If you suddenly woke up aa an animal in a Zoo what would you be and Why?
I hope you have a wonderful day my friend and hopefully you didn't get super rained on lol
I love the arabian orix
1st 🥇
This episode question answer is brown hyena
I love the living desert but I'm disappointed about them bringing in lions, I loved the idea of a aza zoo without lions, elephant and primates.
what is the best zoo in europe?
Burgers Zoo and Pairi Daiza are at the top of my list. Since I'm not familiar with all of them, I could be wrong.
can orangutans live with gibbons?
Did you know that the schinitar cave cockroach and oryx ARE extinct in the wild
This guy lied Google said its the Dama Gazelle 😅😅😅

Dumbass (the Erik guy, not the zoo guy)
What are your top 5 favorite zoos in America? The Answer for the Trivia is the Brown Hyena
1. Omaha Zoo
2. San Diego Zoo
3. Disney's Animal Kingdom
4. Columbus
5. North Carolina Zoo
However, one of these will be kicked out this Friday.
If you enjoy things like the hyenas, there are a series of live cams in Africa that cover watering holes. You can choose to watch them anytime, day or night but if you wish to only see when animals pass by, they will put out clips.
