6:02 Best threat delivery I've seen in a while. The cutoff, the vagueness, the zoom in. 10/10
Thank you. Thank you
"guardians of the galaxy but make it hot topic" 😂 i'm sold that made me laugh out loud
Hahaha thank you!
The accuracy of how fast 2022 has been going by thhoo-I was literally just thinking the same thing myself!!
Haha "Guardians of the Galaxy but make it Hot Topic." I just re-read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom and I still chuckled a bit at the super emo bits. But I love it. Give me all the tears.
Yes! I love cradle and I’m so excited that the ending is near but also a little sad
I totally agree. Bittersweet
Downloaded first Cradle audiobook. Excited! Now drop everything and get some Abercrombie in your life.
Travis Baldree is freaking amazing and easily my favourite narrator. He's a little fast for me, so I keep him at 0.85x, but I love his Eithan voice.
I really REALLY should get to Abercrombie sooner than later!
I hope you love Cradle also!
Wow I somehow missed that Blake Crouch has a new release! Exciting.
I'm so hype. I didn't know about it until semi-recently also
"dang, [insert year here] has flown by quickly:
A sign that the pandemic times are over, when old men like yourself can gripe about time passing them by
Indeed. Indeed. *back in my day....*
I think you must be the booktuber I follow that speaks the fastest 😂 Still really enjoyed watching this one, though I wish I could see your real shelves :P
Wow! Glad you were so excited by all those reads! Love how you hyped Cradle so hard, a 10+ book series I'm now tempted to pick up... when I just started Gardens of The Moon. 🥴 But you make it sound like they're such quick reads!
Also, also, yes, go read First Law, I'm one of those crackheads who thinks it's absolutely brilliant (despite the soft magic system and all that - which I personally don't mind - the themes and character work are just top tier). I'm looking forward to reading his standalones next this year. And Robin Hobb, which I've been ready for since June but my library only has one copy of Assassin's Apprentice. 💀 I can't wait!
I am both extremely excited and incredibly intimidated to someday read Gardens of the Moon haha.
I have tentative plans to start First Law again potentially next month!
2022 has been crazy. And I have smashed my reading goals by having read 34 books so far in 2022.. Finally gotten into The First Law, Stormlight Archives, The Runelords and many more. I also got into Dan Wells writing! I am not a serial killer was a fun listen.
Also. The BrandoSando hype is real
Dang! That's awesome! Such a great set of reads for 2022!
Heck yeah for another Sandofan!
I think you've convinced me on cradle
I'm so excited by this!
Cradle was great fun.
10,000%
Aw man harrow lake was giving me such twin peaks crossed with night film vibes whenever anyone was pitching it I was super excited. Still keen to check it out but good to know that may not be quite what I'm getting.
That was my pain exactly haha. I hope you still enjoy it though!
You and Petrik! I have read 6 of Cradle, but I thinkIm finished. It feels like a video game, to me. I wish it resonated with me the way it does with you - - - & I'm only 2.36 minutes into your freak out... 😂
There is a little bit of a video game quality to it, but.... I'm also a huge gaming fan too so maybe that makes sense Lol
It does feel like a videogame, especially up to book 6, but the character growth really sneaks up on ya.
I wish Michael would tell us what he thinks about Cradle.
I've been trying to remain pretty even-keeled about it you know?
Wonderful time to be a Cradle fan. Dreadgod is coming out in 3 weeks!
I wasn't aware of that until a few days ago. What a pleasant surprise haha!
I feel like the Lunar Chronicles _were_ talked about, A LOT, in their day. And the fact that you still sometimes see them pop up mentioned at all like this is, in my opinion, worth mentioning. I mean, sure, it's not the same as having constant hype/buzz for like a decade afterward or whatever; but it's still better than the alternative of only getting buzz as a new release mostly just because it is a new release and then pretty much just disappearing. (But maybe that's just me🤷♀️🤷♀️😁) 🙂
You make a great point. It doesn't have the staying power of some series, but in the wealth of books that get published now, the fact that it is remembered at all is pretty good.
@@QuestLegacy Exactly! I mean.. there are very few series that ever actually do have that extreme kind of staying power, anyhow; and half the time it might not so much even have to do with the book, per se, as with a confluence of other external factors. ..I think being remembered[ especially by those who did read/like it] counts for just as much, if not maybe even more. 🙂 (But that's just me^-^)
Cradle is the chips of the fantasy genre. You can’t just have one. Before you know it you’ve eaten the whole bag.
Totally agree!
Ditto on Cradle
Based
I like to think I helped lead you to Cradle haha. I definitely commented to you about the series enough haha 😂
You 1000% did and I'm thankful! Its so flipping good!
@@QuestLegacy makes me so happy to hear! New one coming out soon!!!
I just found out Will W.'s other series are connected to Cradle. It's an interconnected universe!!!
Well I guess some other books just got added to my TBR....
@@QuestLegacy haha luckily his books are so easy and fast to read!
🥳🥳
READ ABERCROMBIE!!!
I know. I know... I'm probably going to gush about it when I get to it lol
Great video! I just ordered 3 books 📚. Thanks (I think).
Haha! Awesome! You're welcome?
I think I have a crush on John Cleaver, too 😉
Lololol
Just wanna say that I love your vids and use your impressions to guide my reading journey ☺️
Thank you so much! Happy to help!
You should do a video review for the entire Cradle series
I really, really should. That's a great idea!
also every video I think you have the best channel song on UA-cam lol
Thank you very much man! Its a cover, but I love the song so much!
@@QuestLegacy yeah! Riley Armstrong, but yours is way better. You have an amazing voice bro!
@@dinocollins720 Dang man! Thank you very much 🙏
so fun! You talk soooo fast. hahah I might have to borrow these prompts sometime!
Its a tag that's been around forever so I have no claim to it but you totally should! It is a lot of fun.
Yeah..... I've been accused of being a fast talker more than once lol
I remember the general consesus[ at least that I heard] around Pacific Rim being fairly positive-I mean, it got a sequel? So.... 🤔🤷♀️🤷♀️😁 Lolll (if that means anything🤣 ^-^)
I do think it was generally positive, but maybe not the massive blockbuster movie that it was hoped to be? It did get a sequel, but I've never even seen the second one..... I guess that's just par for the course for me lol
@@QuestLegacy I dunno?🤔 Maybe so? 🤷♀️🤷♀️ I guess we'd have to try and look that up. Lol
I never even saw the first one until after the sequel came out😅😅😶🙃😁🤦♀️🤣
PACIFIC RIM IS THE BEST
YESSSSSSSSS It makes me so happy you love it also!
Okay, okay. I'll freakin' pick up Cradle.
(Not actually annoyed. Genuinely excited!)
I did read the first volume of First Law...and just haven't circled back around. There are just other things I'm more interested in reading. Maybe some day.
Party on, dude.
Excellent!
And yeah I'd love to hear your thoughts on Cradle when you are able to get to it!
Everytime someone mentiones Abercrombie I think I need to read something else by him - but then never do. Read the First Law Trilogy ages ago.
Did you enjoy First Law a lot or was it more middling for you?
@@QuestLegacy it was strangely addictive and offputtingly boring at the same time. Since it's multiple POV there are of course some characters that are more interesting than others. Overall I really liked it. I think you might enjoy it more than me as I prefer my fantasy to be on the lighter humorous side.
@@1book1review This is encouraging! It intrigues me a lot
Heeyyyy-if you get and burn an ARC, you can just buy and not-burn the published version. (Buut..if the ARC ends up differing at all from the published version, you'd be burning the rarer edition..ssooo.... eehh - whatever - you win some, you lose some, I guess??😅🙃🤣🤣😶🤭 idekk) Loll
I think the odds of me getting a sando arc are pretty low to begin with, but it would be a pretty bold statement to burn an arc lol
@@QuestLegacy Fair enough, I s'pose Lol
But Michael, do you like the Cradle series?
😅 The possibility exists 😅
I agree on the judging books by their covers. Isn't that the whole purpose of a book cover?
Totally agree. A lot of work and thought and time gets put into those things to try and get you to pick them up!
I need to stop watching these… i keep deviating from and growing my TBR
Glad to... help? hahah!
@@QuestLegacy hahaha Rabbits is next... if I don't end up reading Cradle 1...
@@BreakingStubad Both are excellent choices imho
The whole 'revisiting or getting back in touch with your past/roots' thing is totally accurate, for me, too. 😁😊🤍
It always really lifts my spirits, or helps me out of slumps!!! ^--^ 💜💜
