  • Building a wooden swing set. Mortise and Tenon joint. This design is proven to be a long lasting and durable build. This is an exact replica of the one I grew up on and that one has had many children and adults swinging on it and its still in use going on 40 years now.

    The rebar is something I didn’t consider. Will be adding this to my build.

    Hello, not sure if i missed it on the video. Do you have a weight estimste for the swings with this type of structure

      Several average size adults have used these swings. I think the swing hardware is going to be your limiting factor. Most swings have a pretty low weight limit.

    Hey thanks for the video. How much weight can this frame hold. Looking to build one for adult swing

      Well I can tell you that this is an exact replica of the one I grew up on and that one has had many adults swinging on it and its still in use going on probably 40 years now.

    Why do you use a ratchet and not a drill to sink your lag?

    What was your total depth for the posts, and how many bags of concrete per post did you use?

      They are 12' posts so you want to go 4' deep. I got about 3' deep so I drove rebar into the rock to supplement. I would use the calculator on quikrete website to figure how many bags. I think I used about 8 bags per hole.

    How long is the horizontal post? And are the post 4x4

    Will this design work with three swings?

      @JacksHomeProjects  Рік тому +1

      You’d have to make the structure wider. The structure itself could handle it but I don’t know about the post depth. I imagine three adults swinging in rhythm would be a lot of leverage.
