I grew up with 50 cent eminem got me in the door then I think some one said something to me about being a white kid listening to black music this was late 90s in junior school didn't think much of it and my dad was always into ska grew up a bit more went to the stabbed stabbed your nan up rap/grime went jail then started my history of music musically we have always been apart of each other ska for instance is the same blues is the same motown is the same even jungle and drum and bass brand all people together race to me is bullshit because even in nature you can get two different colours of the same species and still be in that species so when some one says what race are is basically asing if your home sapien or not.
No matter if time flies, but there are Rappers from da Old Skool who still keep the touch. As Tupac said in his lyricz ''What Mo' Can I Say I wouldn't Be Here Today If Da Old Skool Didn't Pave The Way''...KRS ONE is a Hip Hop Teacher!
I agree with you guys, all of them are legendary MC's. The initial comment is strictly my opinion. I feel Rakim and KRS the most. Plus, when it comes to Hip-Hop elements, two of them that I like the most is freestyle and battle and KRS, in my book, is the king at MC battle, while Rakimg is one of the best freestyler out there, spittin them versatile, unique lyrics.
Funny thing, it is really, just like that.... "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." - The Alpha and The Omega Mark 11:23
Just like that!!! Never get tired of this song. Big up to The Teacha, Blastmaster KRS-ONE and Mad Lion for this uplifting classic. Respect and Salute... One!
One of the biggest reasons why KRS resonance with me so much, is that he could not have the best album, single etc. and still be my top is because his sincerity for hip hop is insane. I think sometimes I take hiphop too "seriously" then I remember KRS-ONE and realize that's how it should be. To me, it's more than music and a fad, it's how I think, live and developed me as a mature man.
Vimalcetkp He's saying - obviously he could & should-but he hasn't recorded & released a new EP lately, because he's busy educating people all over the world & because 'mainstream hip hop' is still shadily being 'bought & paid for' - & KRS-One would never be a part of that sick 'sect' of the industry ! What KRS-One is doing today is basically the same as what his music did 'back in the day', it's just usually to different sized audiences & he's usually educating minds (esp. young minds) to our world's realities & how they & each of us can understand all of that & give people historical, psychological, tactical, real & effective ways to navigate our way through the 'mess' & into what our world could & should be. I promote (for free-because of what I said about the industry)-artists with similar thoughts, lyrics, mindsets as KRS-One & other outspoken artists who were popular during 'that era' - In other words, I promote Hip Hop artists who are excellent lyricists, with excellent musical producers/production & unique styles-who combine socially conscious lyricism with mad flow, who can replicate 'old school' sounds, create original sounds & also are combining the two & much more...I also try to stick to artists who don't use lyrics that are greed or ego-based or who don't use derogatory terms to-or visuals of women.
Ay that shit is dope more people need to do that think I might start trying to incorporate some old stuff like that but feel like sometimes people will feel like your a “biter”
24 plus years towards the progression of this beautiful culture called Hip Hop....The GOAT does it again...As long as the Teacha is behind the desk, the class will keep learning.
normally dont comment but krs one big shout you helped give me a new perception of the world and with time I hope to be extremely successful and that will be because of Brothers like you and Hip Hop kulture thank you man
Looking forward to december 2018, the teacher comes to germany, dortmund - junkyard!!! Thx to the Pioneers and fathers of Hip Hop!!! Love, Peace n Happiness & safely having fun!
THE BLAST MASTER!!! Love it when he keeps his flow up tempo! I've been feeling this dude since poetry! And just like then..this track right here... is... FRESH...FOR 2011...You SUCKAS!!!!
FIYAAAA!!!!!! That shit was hott!!!..i'm a HUGE krs fan so i knew this shit would b hott, but DAMN it was even betta then i thought.....when u new niggas get to this spot & still can rap like this then holla, til then STFU!!!!!!!!!
Word... Lol. I stopped listening to radio back in the year 2G and haven't gone back since. 80's to early 2G is the Golden Era of Hip Hop. I don't bother with any new rappers. No disrespect to anyone, but I'll stick to the classics... JUST LIKE THAT! Respect and Salute. One!
¿Héctor, Quién? yeah I agree...I don't fuk with any of these new rappers either...first off very few of them ''rap''...they usually have long ass hooks, boring ass beats, and very little rapping...plus the little rapping they do is so fuk'n wack...idk when the tides turned but I sure wish they turned back...
This song is so dope! Its like My Philosophy all over again. Kris why do you keep blessing this lost nation with no get back? Truelly you are the prophet for many in this world today, because We know they dont compensate you for your work like you should be conpensated, and then you have to been left alone to stand up against the devil force or spirit idea... I send nothing but humble and regenerating thoughts into the universe for your protection since I cant tour to protect you. Hotep
I've heard and listened to a ridiculous amount of Hip-Hop artists rapping, from freestyle to written. The way KRS-one raps is centuries beyond them. He raps effortlessly, He speaks Hip-Hop like its his first language. He can speak Hip-Hop more fluently than I can speak my own language.
This is beyond Genius how KRS droppin' the science in this video. He teaching people about the manifestation of words. Whatever you speak will be your existence. You also have to prepare yourself for whatever your seeking to be apart of because opportunites will come whether your prepared or not. The end with him taking off into the sky is the metaphysical part of your vision manifesting! You will literally TAKE OFF!
this is why KRS ONE is on the top of my alltime favorite rappers from all way back in start of 80's were i was a young kid i bin listen to his albums from boogie down prod... to krs one solo ..ty and respect from Denmark
They will really begin to appreciate this music and lyrics when get older and look around and then they'll find out that there isn't much to listen to among the long list of all these nowadays rappers. The Real stays real while the short-lived music will not stay at all.
KRS ONE has actually changed my life in a major positive way... I love every second of everything this MC puts out... never stop Lawrence Parker
He did the same thing to me too!
From his songs and his book!

He's been Public Speaking and Teaching the Community since Criminal Minded. (RIP Scott La Rock)
Hip hop god
No matter if time flies, but there are Rappers from da Old Skool who still keep the touch. As Tupac said in his lyricz ''What Mo' Can I Say I wouldn't Be Here Today If Da Old Skool Didn't Pave The Way''...KRS ONE is a Hip Hop Teacher!

I agree with you guys, all of them are legendary MC's.
