I am one the luckiest drummers on the face of the planet. I toured the world for 5 years with this group seeing all sides of the all cultures. They treated me like family all the time and I'm extremely humbled and greatful god brough us togather to share the magic of music. RIP Lillian LOpez.

8 December 2023. Cape Town. South Africa. It's Friday morning. I'm 43. Singing this whilst painting. Had to come here to listen. Thank you for the music! Brilliant music! That still makes every inch of your body move!
What a great tune. In my 20s at the time. Nothing but happy memories. The world is not the same now. So much fun times in the clubs back then that today's same age generation will never experience.
Classic Soul. What a lot of people dont know is that , the bridge break down sung from 2:30 mins is actually sung in Yoruba. A Nigerian language. The language is spoken by Nigerians who originate from South West Nigeria. They are saying "awa o ma rantin, iran ti ile o ise dale baba awa" translates as "We will always remember our ancestors home. The foundational Roots of our fore-fathers" ...just to name drop, Prominent celebs with Yoruba ancestory include: Sade Adu ( (the artist), Seal ( the Artist ) , Akheem Olajuwon ( ex NBA star ) , Fela ( late Artist ) , Wole Soyinka ( Poet ) John Boyega ( Actor) David Oyelowo ( Actor ) Wale ( rapper ) ....the list goes on !!!

Oh my God, what memories of this beautiful time. Carefree and happy youth. Glad to have lived it. I love "Going back to my roots". Really no regrets, when I see what's happening now... RIP Lillian (fu.. cancer) we don't forget you. Thank you for these wonderful moments 🎶🎵🎶🕺💃. My children love this song "WoW dad, it makes you smile and it makes you want to dance, it's great"... Be happy life is short!
The 70 ties are better by far disco, funk, dance, soul.... The emergence of prominent black people bands or solo artists and divas..... there are so many, it would take too long to name them.
I’m 57 love every spectre of music 1st love Motown and reggae but this was first music worm stuck in head and stayed ever since and thank you odyssey for setting me on my musical journey 🙏🏿🎶😘
In 100 years from now people will still be talking about how great this music is, long after so many of todays modern acts have been confined to the dustheap of history!! Legends!

Going back to my... youth! Brings back memories of my first holiday without parents, in Spain with classmates! All disco's played this tune, unforgettable sweet days back then!
This is just how I feel whenever I get to re-visit my 80's/childhood hometown of Binghamton, NY, and always feel like I'm (temporarily at least) back in that amazing, magical time period whenever I'm there!
Wow I just happened to click on this song today not knowing what it was. Thanks so much as it brought back memories of my childhood. I remember this as one of my favorites back in the 70's but never knew the name of the song or the artist. As I said, thanks again Dancerclassics.
Real Good Disco Rhythm! It's time to "Boogie Down" with Odyssey one of New York's finest Disco Acts. This track is as good as "Native New Yorker", another great hit by the same group. Don't you wish that you had a "Time Machine" so you could travel back in time to the Disco Years of the '70s & '80s?! I really am dying to go back to a "Better, Friendly, Uncomplicated" time of "Peace & Love".
Not just the muscle in your body, it's another feeling in your head. A feeling which is so good, your head looks at your feet and we have a laugh with Each other. Great tune xxx
Makes me travel into glidering space Ohhhh Yes ! Love to all those soul music creators , wish they would be artist that could write songs again like back in those times MMMMMMhhhhh ! !
Bom dia amigos, estou ouvindo esse clássico de 82 sob lágrimas nos olhos por sentir que o tempo passou e não se ouve mais músicas com essas belas melodias!
As a gay, white 16-year-old, I used to sing this song (including the words in Yoruba, having shown some promise in French), fancying myself to have roots in the baking African savannah, whereas in reality my "roots" lay in the maternity wing of Chorley hospital in Lancashire one August Friday lunchtime in 1965.
Memories memories, memories. . .eh eh eh. vcs nao tem noção de como era entrar numa discoteca e ouvir esse som. impossivel ficar parado. agradeço a Deus por ter vivido e aproveitado muito.

What a tune. Totally "in the pocket" funky guitar riff. Stuff like this and Chic are timeless.
This song, this number brings me back to my teenage years. With wonderful memories. Why do we become gray and wise?
❤
R.I.P., at 81, Lamont Dozier, thanks for this classic.
