"A banjo becomes angry at midnight. What the hell are you talking about!?" That was my favorite riff in this entire episode and I'm glad this clip had it in there. Classic Crow.
"Let's get you far enough away where they won't hear the gunshot." 🤣 🤣 🤣 These Russo-Finnish epics always bring out the best in the crew. No matter which crew it is. 💌
One of my favorite MST3K episodes. Unlike so many of the movies the bots and the captives knocked over, Sword and The Dragon had a well developed plot that made sense. I feel like the "better" movies featured on the show gave the writers more to work with.
While this film is rather clunky - at least the English dubbed version is - it isn't _that_ bad. I mean, it's not great, but compared to some of the other movies riffed on MST3K, like Monster A Go-Go, Eegah, Manos, or The Castle of Fu Manchu, this movie is a freaking masterpiece.
It's a great film I think. I've watched it many times. I think it might have the record for the film with the most horses in it. On those scenes with all the hordes.
God, I love all four of the episodes with the Russo-Finnish films. You wouldn’t expect some of the better movies featured on MST3k to make for such great riffing, but they do! All of them are spectacular, and _Jack Frost_ remains one of my favorite episodes of all time.
Wow that animal not only grew but also completely changed from a Donkey to a Horse. Also, where is that voice coming from and why is it talking about following one of three roads? I don't even see A road... in fact... roads don't even exist yet in this time period so the guy should be very confused what the mystery voice is even talking about.
Serve me well noble steed. Crow " He's a lonley lonley man ".me laughing hysterical people look at me and move slowly away.I have to remember not to watch this in public places
So he passes on riches because they won't make him happy, and he's not ready to get hitched, so he chooses death. Sure, death is much better than riches or a wife. **Wait--what???**
These old Finnish-Russo co-productions aren't necessarily bad movies, just kind of strange because of their focus on foreign legends. They certainly made for top-tier riffing material, but I definitely don't come down too hard on them as "bad" films. There's been FAR worse riffed in the Rifftrax era.

My favorite line to randomly say at moments. It perks me up every time I say it.
The spotted coo-coo bird is flying backwards? It's a cold day for pontooning?
The rusty pelican flies backwards at midnight 😳
Reminds me of a fun Gilmore Girls moment:
Emily: "I need the crane hat rack."
Lorelai: "The crow flies at midnight."
I can't thank MST enough for the tears of laughter they have given me over the years. It is my all-time favorite show.
"Hey! You're in the wrong myth!" There's a joke that went right over the kids' heads and smack the parents right in the face.😂😂😂
"Let's get you far enough away where they won't hear the gunshot." 🤣 🤣 🤣 These Russo-Finnish epics always bring out the best in the crew. No matter which crew it is. 💌
Hey Amy!
Call me a sicko but that might be the Funniest riff of all time!🤣
The crew definitely matters 💯
@@TomMSTie1138 It's brutal but hilarious. Nobody does that combination better than MST3K.
"Longer than....there have been fishes in the ocean!" Gotta love that Dan Fogelberg riff! 🤣
"Why are you older than me, son?"
I'm still laughing at "Wrong myth!"
ikr?? I actually did a spit-take when the "Hey! Hey, hey ,hey!!" started.
Can’t get enough of that MST3K action 🌚

I was embarrassed to watch them riff "Fu Manchu", because of seeing Christopher Motherfucking Lee... in yellowface.

But the better moves do! I think they gave the writers more to latch on to and make jokes with.
I like the Sword and the Dragon even more than Jack Frost! And I love that episode too!
Loved this episode so much!
I laughed way too hard at this, I need more of it!!!!
But......but..........but what about the Sampo??!!?
"Isn't he supposed to bathe him in Mountain Dew, or...?"

Lmao
I think they had roads. Just not the expressway kind.
Where they're going, they don't need roads. lol
I think there may have even been a backlit zebra at one point.
I might spend the night in serious injury and head over to permanent disability in the morning...
Thanks dudes: man, that was good! 🤣🤣🤣
“Grandpa… NO!!”

I already sold the sword and bought some Finnish vodka.
So bathe in dew = walk through fog?

The MST crew have admitted that they legitimately enjoy these films, this one in particular
They obviously adopted him.
Black stallion
JOEL 4 EVER
He's going to be riffing in the next new episode on 6/24.
Isn't he supposed to bathe him in Mountain Dew or something?
He is a lonely, lonely man.
Hercules Hercules
Why are you older than me son?
