  • It's difficult to replace the tires on the Roomba S9 Plus. Instead, you're expected to replace the whole wheel motor module. But you don't have to. Here's how to just replace the tire.

You don't have to do all of this. Just remove the spring from the other end and start stripping the tread off. Then just feed it around, and once it's on, you replace the spring.
The only issue I've found after replacing is that the tread will slip in thicker carpeting. So I'm looking for a good way to better secure the tread to the wheel so it can't slip.
I only notice the issue when it's trying to back up, so it may have something to do with the castor wheel, too.
I noticed that if I put some pressure on the back while it's backing up, right where the castor wheel is, it helps.
To secure the tread, I'm thinking of using small trim nails to fit into the holes the original tread was molded into.
Update: Upon further investigating, I don't think the tread is slipping. It looks like the new tread is spinning with the wheel like the old ones, but they're slipping on the carpet. So basically the robot is bottoming out on my carpet, which is just medium pile...
Maybe the springs on the modules are not good enough anymore.
Maybe I will just order some new modules and see if that helps.
