iRobot has truly turned things around with the S9. Absolutely love mine as well. By the way I sometimes move my S9's dock around from time to time and it immediately recognizes it and updates the map.
The Roomba s9+ is the best thing since sliced bread. Last year I bought a Litter Robot for the kitties, and now this. I’m a Jetsons chick and I’m loving it all.
I love the new J7+ I bought after watching your reviews. It's the best fit for me with clutter like cat toys, power cords, etc. I Googled Roomba map set-up and landed here. Surprise, surprise! Awesome channel! Thanks!
I have the 960 as well. Only issue I've noticed with mine is if I have it set to go back to the base when the bin is full and resume where it left off, it never actually goes to the spot where it left off it just starts over. Only time it does that is for recharge and resume.
@@iamdenislara nope i always make sure to empty the bin without lifting the vacuum up. I thought maybe the first time thats what i did so tried it again to make sure I didn't and still didn't work. So what I do now is if I think the job will fill up the bin ill check it every so often and if its full ill pause, empty the bin, then restart and it finishes the job without skipping a beat.
Thanks for your video... Hey quick tip, i have carpet also.. To make it look like a nice clean install, you can stuff the cord underneath the baseboard, kinda stuffed in there. It's nice because the carpet allows enough clearance to put the cord in there. Makes for a really nice and clean install.
Nice job on the daily video uploads!!! I use to do that and ran out of robots to cover lol!!! From what I remember you can't use google to tell the robot to clean a specific room. Only can start and stop the robot. Use Alexa for the ability to clean certain rooms. The Roombas and Shark IQ are the only robots that I know of that allows room select via voice Alexa.
I just got this robot Adam and it for sure is louder than the i7 that I had. So far I think it's a good robot. Thanks for the Great video and review, Adam!
Great video ,iRobot still my favorite of them all,you can actually move the base within the floor plan and nothing gets lost ,it will update itself if you ever need to move it
I remember when you were giving this robot bad reviews. Did Irobot send you a huge check or their goons to ruff you up to "change your mind"? Blink twice for yes and once for no.
Actually, the next time it finishes vacuuming from the new location check the notification when it finishes vacuuming on the app/or clean history and just click the update smart map and that’s it!
I have 2 requests. I would love to see a test between robots with the D shaped design. How well they clean close to walls and around objects. Both the S9 and new Neato models. Second. Please please please try to get a hold of an Electrolux Pure i9.2 and test it. So few videos of that one on internet and its also D shaped and have smart functions.
I love the s9+ for corner cleaning! Absolutely nails it especially on bare floors. Sometimes it’s pretty OCD and goes over it a couple of times. Just absolutely amazing.
Seems to work ok for a robot, how did it do around the toilet? You should have had the camera in the room. Also still no SIRI integration for such an expensive robot? I’ll wait and use a (gasp) mop for now. I have to admit the set up looked decent. A lot like HomeKit. I’ll bite the bullet when they add Siri.
I don’t see how you started the mapping run. Also you didn’t mention where you are changing the mapping. Sorry this is new to me so I need detailed instructions. Thanks
When you do your next video about setting up Roomba for Google assistant, can you try and do 2 robots? I had set up my previous Roomba with Google Home, and it works great. However, when I tried to add the new J7, Google Home only saw the original Roomba. All you can do is link accounts, not the machine itself. Can you try adding multiple Roomba's to Google Home and see how it works? Thanks!
I just bought the S9 but once a map I one and finalized and you rearrange furniture the finished map cannot be updated. Dumb system. Why is the software smart enough to map but when it discovers a new area that either was missed or if move the couch, cannot update the finalized map?! I called support and they confirm this! Wow, really? My unit is not even a month old and I have not had issues but due to a email registration typo I have to revert back to factory but that process to get everything back is a painful process. Works great but you better not rearrange furniture or you have to redo a complete remap! Unless someone here a found a workaround?
Hi @AdamTechReviews, Does this robot work in dark areas because I did notice you turned in the light, In my country we can be around 6 months without low light conditions
This is a question. I got the 9s several weeks ago. I’m not easy understanding tech instructions so probably confused the robot. How do I start over and erase confusion on robots tough start?
So when you turned on the light in bathroom it occurred to me I should be able to connect my roomba to my lutron lighting system so it can turn on lights as it goes. I know, I know, LIDAR robots don't require this, but still.
@@AdamsReviews I just checked it out and it is definitely possible with IFTTT. Maybe not a on a room by room basis but any combo of lights can be turned on when the roomba starts cleaning.
App doesn't work. After I've connecting the Roomba to wifi, I was direct to go to iRobot Home app to finish setup, which goes took me back to the step to connect to the wifi. Just an endless circle. No help from iRobot,
I thought you didn't like this series. With with a camera you would thinkt could make much more detail map showing objects. But is it over $1000.00 better. I had to skip through 4 ads watching this, knock it off already
UA-cam sometimes puts in extra ads. Don't take this the wrong way but if you knew how much time all these videos take to setup, make, edit and upload. I think the 20 seconds or so of people skipping ads is well worth it. I'll admit I hate ads too but that's why you tube makes the videos free.
Tech Reviews and More! I like the s9 by far but sadly gonna stick with my i7 considering I bought all the consumables off of AliExpress for cheap asf lol
@@DigiVore.official Well it's still going to be less accurate than lasers. Roombas don't have the right camera position for them to use the AI obstacle avoidance either. I just don't see why you'd choose cameras
@@ExclamationMarx I mean the Shark IQ has it in a ok spot if the camera is wide enough angle. But then again most if not all companies that chose LiDAR or vSLAM have stuck with their choice.
@@DigiVore.official Yeah you won't be seeing iRobot suddenly use laser navigation. I'm pretty sure the only reason they're using cameras is because the LiDAR sensor is hard to hide
@@ExclamationMarx yeah, they can make the camera sleek and stylish, but the LiDAR HAS to buldge to work. I know because my LiDAR bot keeps hitting the sensor on the dishwasher.

You don't need to remap if you move the base. It will automatically figure out where it has been moved within the current map.

leave more space by the dock
How’s it vs the i7?
Also how is it on carpet?

How do you set in training mode without vacumming and setting up app?
Go to maps then it should be under there.
Can you delete a single mapping run without deleting the entire map and starting all over??
How do you get to the Name Your Map page, mine freezes on the "Your Smart Map is ready to customize"
