Awesome video! I speak English fluently - I studied English morphology, syntax.. at university but I would not be able to explain any case in Czech - my mother tongue :) You´re both great!
I believe that using different cases for situation where you have 1 or 2,3,4 or 5+ of something is common in most Slavic languages. It's most likely something that came from Proto-Slavic that made sense back than, but we don't quite understand any more.
I believe it's from market trading days and counting on fingers.
I've tried countless of different sources to try to make sense out of this. Thanks to this video it finally.makes much more sense.

Řekl bych, že genitiv u počítání má spíš jakýsi mentální důvod / předobraz.
1 pivo = to zvládnu
2 -4 piva = je toho víc, ale pořád to zvládnu
5 piv = to už nezvládnu, to už je moc.
To samé s rohlíky, s čímkoliv.
