Cudos on the 4wd. I do the same when possible, back up slighty. Eventually it will disengage but it helps
Ross, I always back up a little bit when going back to 2wd. I think it just helps make sure that the solenoid in the transfer case slides the gear back to 2wd. Sometimes if the front end is in a bind, that solenoid can’t slide the gear back to take it out of 4wd. Just my experience and thoughts.

Depending on the year , if before 2000, yes, it helps . I make sure I'm stoped and in neutral and waite for the light to go out . If that don't work then I back up about 3 ft .

That generation of Dodge truck is probably the best. There is a good undercoating available now that is like a heavy oil. It creeps into all the seems in the sheet metal and sticks to the frame really well. I highly recommend it. I just bought a rust free 2004 Dodge Cummins. Its short coming is the automatic transmission. The only truck I found in my search with a manual was a 96 Dodge 2500 4×4 12 valve out of Texas with 111,000 miles on it. $29,000 was the price.

I always reverse to make sure I was out of 4 wheel drive with my Ford. It takes any bind that may be in the differentials. Thanks for the video. See you later.

Not anymore. I think that went away with shift on the fly four wheel drive. I remember our old Bronco and the Powerwagon both needed reverse.
If you make a turn, those ford's will kick out of 4wd. That old fellow in the ditch, shame on that mess. A truck GPS will get you into that kind of situations sometimes so the only solution is a driver with a head that can read English😂😂 we got so much of that nonsense in our area since they started building warehouses
I saw on marketplace a green Oliver stand grinder for sale. The fellow wants $450. Haven’t found any relationship yet with the Oliver tractor company.
