Trevor Wilkinson is singlehandedly the most underrated guitar guru of our generation. The upgrades and innovations that he is responsible for inventing and designing are second-to-none, and also, the guitars he has designed and manufactured from the Fret-King and Vintage Brands are absolutely fantastic and are of great value, quality, and reliability. Trevor Wilkinson is a true, blue collar, working man’s designer and innovator in the guitar industry and always listens to the input and feedback from his customers, consumers, and musicians who purchase and use his products! Such a great, great man!
A full unedited interview would be so cool to see :)
Lord, think of the guitar knowledge sitting at that table...boggles the mind to think what those two fellows, combined, know about guitars.
Wilkinson parts are great. I’ve got vintage style Wilkinson tuners on my epiphone moderne, and they stay in tune just as well as the grovers on my Gibson explorer. I’ve got Wilkinson pickups in another guitar and they sound amazing. They aren’t muddy at all, the output is perfect, plenty of high end, great articulation. They aren’t as popular as the big name brands but they are just as good. I’ve got high end guitars all the way down to Walmart first act electrics and I know quality when I see it.
Pretty cool to see these 2 legends in their fields together.just chillin and talking shop.
I've had the VSVG on my strat for more then 15 years and its been always awesome!
Did you have any issues with the strings lining up on the fretboard correctly? The oval holes have me a bit worried.
@@YesuAiNimen One of the holes isn't oval, so that should prevent the bridge from sliding side-to-side.
@@benmmurray Thanks!
I’d love to hear the full discussion all-in-one! These have been great!
I realize Im kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to stream new series online?
@Winston Dwayne Flixportal =)
@Zev Sawyer thank you, signed up and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it!
@Winston Dwayne Glad I could help xD
Trevor Wilkinson is a GENIUS & I've been using his vibrato units for well over 25 years!!!
Thank you for interviewing Mr Wilkinson! This video has really been quite informative and thought me a thing or two. I love little details and thought process that has gone into this bridge!
This is the best vintage bridge I’ve used. Andy Timmons would agree.
Amazing details! Thanks so much for sharing! Now I am very happy using the WV6R!
I love listening to this stuff. I just purchased a Suhr 2014 with a floating Gotoh - 510 and I have to say: It's Phenomenal. As Good as I have ever played. Excellent return to pitch: after performing Flutters and mild-Dive-bombs. Its " Light Years " ahead of my Vintage 78 Strat Bridge and Trem system.
What an amazing little interview! Would love to watch a longer verion of it. Thanks Dan and Trevor!
Wow! I have learned a lot from this video! Thank You! Waiting for more to come.
Wow! Thank you, guys!
The VSVG has served very well. The feel with the arm in hand is very stable and comfortable. I've chopped it an inch shorter like Scott Henderson.
Fascinating video series.
Some very interesting design points and nicely machined.
This was awesome.
I just ordered the vsvg for an Aria Pro2 Jet1 i got on sale for $220! Planet waves and Im all in for 400 9.5 radius nice med frets smaller C neck and the rare 24.75 scale w a trem that stays in tune❤ Neck single is my only single great to lay the clean loop with.
Great bridge!
Brilliant. Trev's the Einstein of the guitar gear ;-)
Gotta say, it makes sense.
If the Vs-100 would come with a steel block that would be great. It's the reason I don't use one. The original '90s ones did, I've had both and the steel is part of what gives that "sparkle".
After having vsvg i now want him to make a solution for jazzmaster.
I tried all alternative but i kept coming back to the darn original bridge.
Just wish it had groove on the saddle amd under the screw like gotoh 510.
Trev sounds like a very knowledgeable man. I've always equated Wilkinson hardware as great quality gear at a reasonable price.
Will it work on the MIM Strat with a 2-1/16" spacing?
Here's an age old question. Is it safe to adjust a bridge with the strings up to pitch?
Brilliant. Nothing more needs to be said.
Highline Guitars - 100% agree 👍👍
Love YOUR videos/channel btw!! I’ve learned SO much from you..!!! Thank you!
Cheers :D
I have a fender road worn strat .Will a VSVG be a drop n replacement?
Do U still have to wind the bar .cos never can get it write it falls down one the jack lead
Superb insight!
This bridge is a drop-in fit for a made in USA late-80s / early 90s Peavey Predator.
If i change a vintage strat bridge to a vintage narrow bridge do I need to have the nut recut?
So where do we buy
Hey, does anyone know/have experience with the 2 point pivot vs. the 6 point? It seems like the 2 point is better, but, iv'e got the 6 point on my strat, but, would be willing to modify. Oh, and by the way I'm talking wild pull-up, dive bomb ala Steve Vai type stuff.
Get an Ibanez Edge LoPro on an S series
Wilkinson VSVG Japan or Korea ?
Great video! I notice the picture of Jerry Garcia in the background. Is there a story behind Dan having this photo in his shop?
Dan built a custom black walnut guitar for Jerry in the early 1970's.
@@stewmac Wow, I did not know that ...just googled it!! It's beautiful, but it must have been a heavy guitar!
You owe this guy a bunch of pints 🍺
Cooler than teslas
It's good you sink the Hight adjustment and put them down further.the problem I've noticed the skin and dirt off your hand fills up the alan key hole. Then U need a pin to get it out. So they still have not fixed a main issue
I own a Vintage V6P with 3 Stacked Wilkinson P90's with similar guitar the bridge Trevor mentions, and stagger Wilkinson machine heads.guitar stays in tune, pissed off this chap with high end Fender lol he was tuning his expensive Fender and I said I don't have to tune this guitar much hardly , considering what he paid for it and what I paid for it, well he was scratching his head, lol no happy lol
I think far too much attention is given to the bridge with regards to tuning problems. The culprit is almost always the nut.
I respect his design smarts but the materials and precision aren’t like the Glendale or Callaham parts. And no one makes a metal insert neck screw kit as good as MontErose, but you can’t trust the bum.
Have no Idea what this crazy limey is blathering about . I think he's trying to sell something by fixing something that ain't broken . Leo's bridge works just fine if it's set up right .
You, indeed, have no idea : )
I'm a crazy limey, and have no idea what he's on about either
Fender wobbly garbage
