I can guarantee that there wasn't a single person not smiling when they walked out of the theatre that night. What a special 'unifying event' those people shared.
The Go Go's music is as good and relevant as the day it was released, Southern California Locals were cranking out hits and parties, now the music lives on. Belinda's voice continues to amaze me.
So happy to see Kathy back! Not the Go-Go's without her. Everyone looks and sounds great!

Being a huge fan of them,I'm more focused on the idea of five ladies who are keeping in touch with each other for so many years and,after all they've been through they're still able to perform together...and they still rock!!!

It really is amazing how they have their pulse on what kicks butt and what the can kick it with.
I wish I was at the curtain call. The Go Gos were an integral part of my growing years, especially because I loved their music and still do. I saw "Head Over Heels" and was singing along to the songs. It definitely brought back memories!

Every Generation has its music .... But there was something truly magical about the late 70's to Early - Mid 80's
I feel so freaking blessed to have grown up in that era .... I hear the Girls here and I'm instantly teleported straight back to a time of Innocence, Naivety, Fun & Potential .... like *ANYTHING* just might happen at *ANY* moment. Wonderful time to be alive, thanks so much for sharing this video xoxoxo

I'm so glad I was 7 watching them on the new MTV! I'm proud to be in the MTV generation! I'm so glad I got to be a part of the MTV that actually played videos lol. I remember thinking in 92 when I was 18 and The real world premiered, that MTV was about to change forever and the days of non stop videos was over lol. I guess I was right.

I call it a dead heat between the Go Go's and the Bengals, almost exact same area and time. The Bengals came out and ended in Pop, the Go go's started as Punk and ended in Pop. But Santa Monica is their preferred beach....

@@mstrunn Yes I agree, "no contest" because both groups are made up of wonderful independent ladies that can not be compared, so there is no contest. If you are a mature lover of artistry and music culture you would see the commonality in these groups and the successes both achieved. Each has contributed to the diversity of popular music, inspired our children to pursue happiness in away only Americans can. Peace and love to you man!
The Go-Go's were to the Bangles what the Beatles are to the Stones. No contest. Go-Go's, Beatles take it hands down, every time, not even close.

The Eighties were the best I remember seeing the Go Go’s and opening Act A Flock Of Seagulls 1983 !! I love these retro shows ..great memories!!!
I saw them in the same year in Chapel Hill, NC. I was in the 82nd Airborne at that time at Fort Bragg, aaahhh youth.

At least all 5 of them get along again it seems. Lucky Broadway customers got a bonus mini concert from the original band that started all of this. Nice they put typical keyboardist Charlotte Caffee out front this time on guitar since she plays that instrument so well (keyboards were done by the Broadway cast). She always amazed me as she is a good songwriter (co-wrote some Bangles hits as well as helped fellow Go-gos solo albums), guitar player, and what she is known for - a good keyboardist.
I didn't the the person playing keyboards did very well on "Heels."
@@rudolphguarnacci197 True, but considering they pulled this off with no warm up - no practice - nothing, it is actually really good. And very hard to do. The second song is totally keyboard driven as Charlotte wrote that one - if you notice, the first 30 seconds it is only keyboards and some drums - there is no guitars or bass at all.

I wasn't aware that it was impromptu. I may have been kbit-picking. There were only a few seconds where the key oards was off. But I'd rather have that then a tune killed in the studio by locking it into a click track. Music needs to breath.
@@rudolphguarnacci197 From what I know this was almost impromptu From a CBS show they said they talked to the producers of the broadway show about attending and they got invites, and the producers asked if they would like to play a couple of songs after the show. They said sure. That was the extent of the prep before this happened. They knew they would do all the instruments except keyboards which would be covered by the broadway band. They knew the stage would be set up for them. All the band knew is play along with them, except in the second song where the keyboardist had to lead off which as you noted caused a slight problem but overall I thought it was pretty well done considering the go-gos did it with an unknown keyboardist. Oh, and the songs were predetermined.

It's another example of what professionals and talented musicians they are. And I think it was a total mistake not to spread out the singing roles. It would have added so much more depth to an already kick-ass band.

The Go Gos are a great rock and roll band, period. Never mind the lack of testicles, they are far better musicians than the Ramones and many other guy bands.
