GUESS WHAT, SAUCEY DAD??!! YOU MAY HAVE HEARD ALREADY, BUT JUST IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T, WE FOUND OUT LAST NIGHT, SOME AWESOME NEWS- KIRSTIN & BEN ANNOUNCED THEY ARE EXPECTING A BABY GIRL!!! YAY!!!
Wow.. i saw that too. She has a cute bump. That was an adorable way to announce it.
Elliana Violet (Evie for short) was born on June 28. Mother and daughter are both doing well. Floof, on the other hand, has begun getting up at 2 a.m. to cry for attention. They think this is his way of trying to remind them that Floof is also supposed to be their baby.
And that's why Scott is my favorite. 🤯
Ugh. Full body chills when Shawn stands up when Scott comes down stage... So so good
Did you see our post's in discord. Our Pentatonix Queen is having a princess!!!!
That’s sooo exciting!
Floof's gonna have a baby sister!!! 🙂💜
They are ALL magnificent magical creatures but Scott is a BEAST 💖
Just FYI-a Pentaholic checked-there was an increase in the birth rate 9 months after. 😂👍😂. So glad you are doing this. It only, in my opinion, gets better.
Kind of a crazy coinkidink - we just found out today that Kirstie is pregnant!! I'd say she is about 10 years & nine months late though! Lol!
Imagine leaving a member of the legendary Boyz II Men speechless. There's a reason we call him the first Pentaholic.
Ooooh, yes! My favourite! Hit's all the right spots. Scott Hoying! Avis suave bass, Mitches wawa, Kirstin holding it DOWN, Kevins perfect beat. All of their tiiiiight entrances and exits. They were sooooo gelled together. And I can't say it enough..... SCOTT HOYING!!
I urge you to watch the final announcement of them winning. It’s very heart warming. Mitch and Kristie look so nervous
and then watch the tape of them returning as special guest to season 4 of sing off and singing
The change and progress of PTX. and their welcome back is epic

There are bunches of Avi singing because of the number of groups he was in at the same time- acapella, jazz, choral, comedic etc. and performing solo with his guitar. Here's a favorite.

These were fun thanks!
@@banf7425 you are welcome. Keep passing them on when people wonder about it.
Scott's final run in that song is spine tingling.
Kirstin said in an interview that they went to the sing off for one last hurrah with her friends and has not stopped.
She looks about 5 months so the little princess was there during the Evergreen Tour. I hope Kirstie was not to bothered by morning sickness. So happy for her and Ben. That girl is going to be so spoiled by her "uncles" and she will have a playmate with Kaia!
The princess was announced this year. She definitely wasn't in this performance
@@reneeg9406 they said the evergreen tour. It also looks like they meant to respond that to someone else that was talking about Kirstie’s announcement yesterday.
@@PtxXtp my bad. I honestly don't pay that much attention to which tour🥴just the timing of the comment 🤷♀️
This one was the start of absolute wonderment. Yeah, sure, the other performances were good. But, in the next two we get to see the Pentatonix we all know and love. Especially performance 12. This one was all smooth, the next one is fun in a bottle, and the one after? Pure intensity.
Just an FYI, brudda, my comments on performance 12 are going to be a bit longer than is typical, but I'll have information for you that I think you'll enjoy. See you in the next one!
lol yes, they are listed under The trio sings Telephone and Firework
Saucy PentaFries. Everytime I hear it makes me hungry😄
That reaction by the fellow in the balcong was like, "yep, it's over for the rest of us". The fans reaction was so crazy for this one that when they began touring they worked the performance into their act. They called it, "chair girl", and invited women on the stage to sing to them. Beyond a doubt, this particular performance with a woman named Dena is by far the funniest. Watch for enjoyment (or reaction). ua-cam.com/video/xK-AG8GaAUw/v-deo.html
I think they call it it's a mind cramp...lol...ears and eye get confused.🤣🤣
OK, now you need to search Pentatonix Chair girl and have a good laugh. They did it live in concert for a while and picked a girl from every show. Too funny!
And that is where I lost my mind and the ability to string cohesive sentences together over Scott. I admit it. Most of us have a teensy extra - soft spot for one of PTX and dear lord I LOVE them all. But Scott....... Yeah.....
Scott Hoying 🗣️ + my ears = a blissful puddle of goo.
RE: Where they would be today
Mitch's dad wasn't going to let him go until he found out it was Scott (and Kirstie) who had asked him. He got a little emotional in the interview talking about how he sometimes thinks about that and what it would have done to Mitch's life if he had held him back.
I always felt that the reason the “casual hook-up” Scott and Mitch tried to have while sharing a room during TSO failed because that “sibling” vibe they felt was born out of Scott’s over-protectiveness of Mitch. We all know Mitch had full-blown anxiety attacks and, though I never heard that interview with Mike Grassi, as a parent of a kid with anxiety myself, I imagine Mitch’s parents were only on board with him going to LA because of Scott, and I’m sure Scott knew that. It’s been well-documented how protective of Mitch Scott has been throughout the years (which they both talked about a lot during the years they lived together), and to a lesser degree Mitch could be over Scott. Definitely like Scott is the older sibling and Mitch the younger.
Their parents on the Penta parents talk. ( it’s on you tube) are so great. All of their parents are great. But Mike Grassi is such a wonderful Dad. He won my heart
@@bonnieflynn4798 I’ve seen them on my recommended but never watched. I have seen Mike on Superfruit and he seems like a great dad. All of them seem to have amazing, supportive parents. It makes a difference! It’s why they’re all such amazing humans.
@@toni-annmyers3604 the Penta parents talk is still on UA-cam and it’s a fun listen.
It’s also unbelievable how PTX formed right before the Sing Off and from the very beginning, how great they blended and how each strength shined…together 🎶🌈😊💕
Yes, those early trio performances are still online. They're on Scotts channels :)
This was the moment the rest of the groups realized they were competing for 2nd place. LOL 😆
I have to say I did like your saying of sauceypentafries it goes well together haha 😄 great reaction thank you 😊
This sealed the deal. That was just smokin'.
I always wondered if Scott was supposed to grab the mic off the stand and move around. It was obvious he was feelin' it and he just had too. If he didn't he probably would have self-combusted.
All of their performances were good to great and this one was probably my favorite.
I am pretty sure that The Trio still has their videos posted. I think the most famous one is them doing Telephone by Lady Gaga.
In their early concerts they would bring up an audience member, have her sit in a chair and then sing this to her. You have to see the one with Deena. She has been immortalized as "The BEST Chair Girl". She is so excited and has the band in stitches. It is hilarious. If you REALLY want to belly laugh, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/sYY97gWjpU4/v-deo.html
I've watched most of the chair dance videos. Both videos of Deena was my favorite. It's on my Funny file. Hilarious!!!
Check out Kevin Olusola in "from the top" live at Carnegie Hall. He was 17 years old and yes, you can find The Trio before PTX on YT.
More than 10 years later and I STILL get goosebumps from this one every time!!!!!!
So you've seen their original performance of this, now you can enjoy how it was done on tour with chair girls. There's a few but the one with Dena is THE BEST. It's fan footage so sound quality is not great but the singing is secondary to the antics. Thanks for the reactions☺️
R&B is Scott's favorite genre. This was a GRAND SLAM!. Yes they still exist just saw that one.
This 10th performance was close to perfect. They were all in the zone.
I don’t remember finding the trio videos, but there are a lot of behind the scenes videos that I have watched. Also they said they pooledall the money they had the buy Kevin’s plane ticket for his audition!
I've seen a lot of comments over the years labelling Sean as the (Original Pentaholic), and based upon his reactions and his reception of the group when they return the following year to perform, I think the description is apt.
This was the last performance of the evening, because the producers just knew that no one could follow that!
Love, love, it
My favorite performance from them on the show & love how Scott got down and dirty with it, perfection!!!
Did you see? Kirsty announced today that she’s pregnant!
I freaking love Avi's airbass in this one! amazing! ❤️
"And we'll find out soon if Pentatonix will move ahead to the next round." C'mon, Nick!
#12 is my favorite, but after this one, #10, I don't think anyone had any doubt that Pentatonix was moving ahead to the next round. This one time, more than any other, Nick could have just told the audience to tune in to the next episode for more Pentatonix. Who does he think he's kidding?
Never heard the hf version but keep in mind that this PTX version was first!
Had they been bounced before the finale and went their separate ways rather than taking Pentatonix forward, I'm guessing that it might have gone something like this:
Scott: With his drive and ambition, he would have found a place somewhere in the music field. He had developed a lot of connections (Ben Bram among others) during his time in college.
Kirstie: Probably would have returned to school (Oklahoma) where she was majoring in musical theater. I'm guessing she would have had a career on Broadway by now.
Mitch: Getting over his self-confidence and shyness issues would be his biggest hurdle, and without his BFF's close at hand as a support system, who knows if he would have been able to overcome that. Clearly his talent is world class, so I would hope that he would have found a way. Probably as a musical theater performer.
Avi: Another world class talent, with some connections already established. He would have probably either found his way into opera (he had an offer to join an opera company that he passed on to go with PTX) or follow his passion into the country/folk/indie genre. He would have made it, as he has proven after leaving Pentatonix.
Kevin: Would probably have returned to medical school and would by now be a doctor, and with his missionary history, most likely involved with a group like "Doctors without borders".
I'm so glad we got to see them succeed as Pentatonix and enjoy them these past 10 years, and hopefully for many more to come, but they would almost certainly have found success somehow, regardless.
Mitch had been accepted into the same exclusive musical theater program in Oklahoma as Kirsten, so he would likely have been on Broadway with Kirsten. They both had some self-confidence issues, so I like to think they would have encouraged and supported each other in their careers.
@@WoefulMinion Thanks for that info! I thought Mitch was planning to also go to Oklahoma, but I wasn't sure (and am too lazy to look it up... 😜)
@@bill.godwin-austen It's actually amazing that both were accepted into the prestigious musical theater program. It was the only musical theater programs in the area at the time and the competition was ferocious.
@@WoefulMinion It speaks volumes about the level of talent the two of them have that they could both make the cut at such a highly competitive program.
Heeeeeee!!!! I'm so excited to see your reaction to this one! Heeeeeee!
I can imagine the decision part at the judges table..."ok, other than PTX..who are we putting through"
FYI - Kristen just announced that she is pregnant 🍼

I think there is another one, can't remember right now
I am unable to stop laughing because your face when you're seriously vibing with PTX looks like you're suffering and having an awful time. XD Keep on keepin on dude you're clearly having a blast I just love that if I screenshotted you ppl would think you hated it.
Yea, after that performance they weren't getting voted off of anything! lol
If you have not already done so, I think you should check out "Beginner's Guide to Pentatonix." Some think there are too many spoilers, but I think this is the best way to learn who these talents really are and answers so many of your questions.
This performance was BRILLIANT! Scott got to be in his happy place, mellow R & B, Mitch slipped in that striking wa-wa (a precursor to the formal Mitch slap?), Kevin kept everyone in line with his solid percussion, Kirstie and Mitch were perfect back-up vocals and harmonies, just like Marvin had back in the day, and - possibly my favourite moment of the arrangement - watching Avi perform air base guitar. After this show, it was a race for second place for the other contestants. Pentatonix was clearly in the lead and could not be stopped. And yet, the best is still to come....
So EXCITED for episode #12!!! I rewatch it often.
Congrats on 1 million views!
Great reaction Saucey Dad! Waiting on the next Sing-off reaction! Loving being on the Ptx journey with you & the Saucey Fam!!!
HELLO SD! 🙈 OMG 12th performance its coming, so excited!!🤣🤣🤣
SD in 12th performance try Not to stop the video🙊
This is my favorite performance of theirs. It’s also when I KNEW that they were 🥇
This is my fav performance from Scott, honestly!!!! And…in news…Kirstin and hee partner are expecting a baby girl!!! I teared up when I saw it on her insta❤️❤️.
This was great! Loved your reaction. Their are videos of them performing in high school. The trio does Telephone during an intermission of a school choir concert. It is awesome. They did that with Kevin and Avi for thei Sing Off audition. There is also a video of the whole group doing it also. I think it was a live performance somewhere. If you look up ptx Telephone they all pop up. Also, in case you haven’t heard yet, Kirstie and her boyfriend announced today they are having a baby girl. There is a video of them announcing it. The whole gang is there.
Now you have to see the live version they do on tour with a girl from the audience.
Thanks for your reaction! I love going back into time and watching how talented they were already but seeing their growth at the same time. There are some great videos on You tube of all of them before Pentatonix. This performance reminded me of a terrific video on You Tube that Scott had posted on his My Space page when he was only 14 years old; he is playing piano and singing a very soulful cover of Ray Charles "Georgia". Some of my other favorites that you would love are Kevin Olusola "From The Top: Live from Carnegie Hall-2005; Kevin is a teenager still in High School and his saxophone performance and the interview afterward are amazing! Another must see video from Kevin is his "Julio"; this was one he posted in his dorm room at Yale after he had taken his final exams and was about to graduate pre-med and start medical school. Scott saw his performance of "Julio" and called him to audition with them for "Sing Off". Kevin was reluctant but Scott spent all the money he had at the time for Kevin's plane ticket and Kevin arrived late but just barely in time for the audition.
OK, OK, I'll stay, lol, love your reactions!
I think they had already won by this point, in all but name. I don't understand why this show didn't survive while shows like American Idol did.
I know there is some story about their "recording contract". Like they only supported Pentatonix for a year.
Pentatonix had to grow all by itself on UA-cam. Thus they love their fans!
I know more people know more about this story than I do.
The record company dropped them after 2 weeks.
@@mmg8823 yep. They all packed their stuff and moved to la to get to work. And then got dropped. Still got to work for sure. In hindsight they are glad they got out of a reality show contact and could get a better one after having some leverage with their social media success
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca and that contract is now expiring. I hope the new one is on good terms for them.
@@mmg8823 Yes! Really crossing my fingers! Seems hopeful with the new management
Avi’s flashing me back to Bob Denver as Maynard (?) on “Dobie Gillis!”
I think this is one of the best they did in the competition! Great reaction to this episode! Thanks for all the humor and faces. They always make my day!
I love going back with reactors to the beginning and watching where they came from! Thanks for the blasts from the past!
This is the one!
Hello Saucey Dad, Just loving this PTX Sing Off journey with you. They look so sharp in those coordinated outfits, with the colours matching the backdrop too! They all were singing with such passion as they always do, but for sure Scott established himself as the King of Riffing. So glad the judges recognized the contribution of Mitch with the vocal sounds at the beginning, because that is one of his talents - Mitch is not only a superb singer but an strong vocalist that can do amazing sounds with his vocal cords. Just love how professional they all are pushing themselves further and further each time. Looking forward to #11 and #12.
If you didn’t know already, #12 is the last of the competition. The performances after 12 did not count as to who would win.
You wanna see a pre PTX video? Try Kevin, Carnegie Hall Sr. Year "From the top" on saxophone. Not cello, not bboxes, not vocals, saxophone. J.
Saucey Dad, I am loving your PTX reactions. You give me reason to smile continuously and laugh out loud on a regular basis. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos and please don't stop.
Yes! I've been waiting for you to get this one.
I love them all, but this one was my favorite.
So fun watching you getting to the "Holy Shit!" Episodes! Btw, Got my Son of a Mitch shirt yesterday! Yay!
This was the one where I knew. They hit their stride here, and just nailed the rest of the competition.
My Favorite
That badass bass! AVI!!! 🤘🔥💜
Amen to everything that you said. I can't imagine my life without them. How sad would that be. Thank you so much.
Loving how fast you're getting through these! Hope your appt went well.
You can find a video of Avi singing in high school, I forget what Christmas song, using the same guitar he uses now. There are also videos of him singing with his college choir. I would link the videos but I don't know how.
ua-cam.com/video/fjnohHFrbRc/v-deo.html
Here is a link that has many of the early clips in it along with even rarer ones of the trio. Enjoy 🤗. Hope all went well at the dentist for you.
You had your eyes closed when Scott GOT DOWN! Go back to where he took the mic off the stand and watch.
Don't forget the two final performance
At this time, Scott and Kirstie had already left Arlington for Colleges and Mitch was just due to. So, having been at school together from being tweenies, they would be scattered if not for The Sing Off. And they had recruited Avi and Kevin from wherever. There's a video of the Trio singing Gaga's 'Telephone'. just while the choir fill up the sets at their school concet, and it's astonishing. ua-cam.com/video/t2XBMWRK4Mw/v-deo.html
This is so amazing
Not sure anyone mentioned in the comments (sorry lazy to read all through 🙃) but they did this song on the next few tours with "audience participation" 😏 namely, they brought up someone on stage sit them down (chair girl😏) and sing it to her 😁 there are a few compilations of it, or like "best chair girl Dina" or something like this and all pretty hilarious, as now you also know a bit better the artistic direction Avi took 😁😁
ua-cam.com/video/VDDdoTbDdUA/v-deo.html the other big one too!
When you are through with PTX, you do know Home Free won this the next year right?? journey tie as well?? maybe? Definitely a saucey pentafry lol.
Just waiting for you to see number 12......
Actually while PTX was obviously innovative and good, there were other groups that were also good. So it may not have been so obvious during the show that PTX would win. We’ve all seen reality TV shows where someone goes home that we are surprised at. Completion shows where the 2nd or3rd place winner goes on to be more successful than the winner. Example, Scott Hoying was on a kids version of Star Search and lost (you can find that video somewhere online Scott Hoying Starsearch January 2004) and no one has ever heard of the winner. Hindsight is 20 20.
I think the big concern on the part of early-stage Pentaholics like me at the point when voting went to the public was that the Dartmouth Aires could pull on a big voter base from their school as well as Ivy League Schools in general, whereas we just didn’t know how deep PTX fandom was in the general watcher ranks. If the post-win rumors were true, the vote was overwhelmingly in favor of Pentatonix, like 60-70% if not more.
One thing I have noticed, just an observation not a judgment, other groups follow ptx and cover the songs they do. Just saying. Much love and keep on keepin on J.
Almost there, if you thought this was amazing.....may need to duct tape Slappy on for 12!!!
I have two songs that will rock your world. The first is Valhalla Calling featuring Peyton Parish from Assasins Creed, and Battle Cry also by Peyton Parrish
I can't watch any of the other groups because Pentatonix is so good it makes the others sound like a kindergarten concert
I dont think that's fair! There were some very professional groups (afro blue for example) that had less marketable sounds.
❤️🙌🙌
❤❤
Ok it’s definitely worth checking out a live performance of this when they used to sing it on tour in 2014& 2015. They would bring someone up on stage and basically chair dance on her. Let’s just. Say. Avi gets a little too into it. Some chair girls are better or more entertaining than others. One of the best reactions came from Dena. Look up Best pentatonix chair girl chicago theater. 3.8.15
My favourite chair girl was probably Esther (Avi's sister) I laughed so hard when he pushed Kevin to do the grinding on her lap instead of doing it himself! 🤣 🤣
@@rebeccasmith7878 yes that one is funny if you know Esther and her relationship with them but as far as seeing it for the first time, it seems a true fan who is so overwhelmed just to be in their presence and on stage gives a more of a representation how it went most nights. Esther was embarrassed by being on stage for prank night and the possibility of Avi dancing on her but she certainly wasn't starstruck by them knowing them so well and being around them all the time.
