Selena's father seems to enjoy the fact that she brought him (some) fame and (mostly) fortune, and that he didn't really care for her well-being.
She was his walking and singing bank account, and is just using her name for publicity, and nothing else.

I think that it’s important to understand that Selena wanted Chris Perez in her life and she obviously loved him.. I have never seen any evidence that Chris pushed himself into her family. I have seen multiple interviews with Chris Perez and he really loved her, you can see the hurt in his face. Selena should not have been expected by her family to lead a life as a Nun. I respect Chris Perez for bringing a loving relationship into Selena’s life. Chris is a good and honorable man 🙏🏽🤠

They tend to want their daughter to remain little and never leave home. I have always admired the closeness of Hispanic family’s. Anglo families seem to drift apart over time.

Chris is really good at verbalizing his feelings about losing Selena and also learning to live with that sad reality. I too had a great loss and I can relate exactly when he talks about his loss and his feelings about it and living with the loss. To me the words don’t come easily, so listening to him gives me the words to what I am feeling. I wish her father would embrace him and see that she really picked a good and honorable man that truly loved her and still does. God bless him! A big hug to Chris. 🤗
Yes, I also wish her father would give Chris more credit than he does. He was Selena's husband. Not just some random guy who was simply dating her. He wanted to spend his life with her, and build a beautiful life for both of them. I think her father is so cruel towards Chris. But I have always found Selena's father to be all about money. To this day he's still capitalizing on Selena's name. He's greedy.

My family and I loved Selena so much! I think she was apart of everyone's family! Such a beautiful child! Will always love her and she lives on in all of us. I watch these reaction people listen to her music and they are astounded by her talent and beauty. A star for sure!
I was 8 yrs old when she died. I will never forget her ever. She inspired so much happiness and love in me as a person. Im very thankful I was old enough to remember her presence while she was active and will never forget her death and how significant and crazy that actually was. She was and is a true entertainer the true angel. She reached more people than she/ her family realized. Like little ol me living in Middleton Idaho. And at the time only had 2000 people living in it. God bless you Chris and family. May her legacy continue!
He's a great musician and deserves all the praise. I really can't imagine his loss and the heaviness of the memories. He's still her husband to us.

Chris has always been humble and a gentleman in regards to Selena. I personally believe he was taken advantage during a time of mourning by Selena's father. That man would be nothing without the celebrity of his daughter, he has benefited off of her for years. That family has taken so much from Chris. In today's f****d up Hollywood/music business/crazy world, one never gets the sense that anyone can be honest, but this man's incredible honesty about his time with his beautiful bride is pretty awesome to watch.
I was fortunate enough to have seen Selena [y Los Dinos] several times over a span of a few years, but one of the earliest was in my college years in Dallas circa 1990. There were about 30 people in the club, and after their first set the band came over to the bar and Selena sat on the stool next to me in her cow-print outfit. My friend and I talked to her for a few brief minutes while she sipped from her water glass. Her laugh was infectious; a gregarious spirit.
Something very precious was taken from us in 1995. That horrible day I had come home from work and learned of what had happened watching the news. I cried alone on the floor.
If we were all devastated and honestly still can't get over the fact she got murderered.. Imagine him, the one that was in her very body and soul 😪😢
