I'm very glad to see Selena's mother - beautiful and smiling. That woman suffered the most and she wouldn't show up much after that. So, I'm glad she's strong enough to survive all what happened and found the strength to move on. She's surrounded by her loving family and I hope she's doing good. Hello from Russia. You can see the way Abraham gets annoyed/ bothered when his son starts sharing about him writing songs for Selena and how it was something hard. AB played a big role in Selena success why is the dad trying to prevent AB from speaking his side? I do not like the dads vibe he doesn’t seem genuine
@Eric Acha Right but there wouldn't of been Selena's accomplishments without A.B's accomplishments in some of those areas. HE literally wrote and produced the songs, she sang them. He paved the way for alot of her number 1 hits.

Saludos, no soy una persona farandulera y aunque vivo actualmente en E.U. soy de Puerto Rico. Yo no entendía muy bien el ‘fenómeno’ de Selena, como después de 25 años de su partida podía seguir tan vigente. Tengo una nietecita de apenas 4 añitos y desde que descubrió a Selena en ‘UA-cam’ se ha obsesionado con ella, canta y tararea sus canciones, mañana, tarde y noche ósea todo el día. Según ella, Selena es su amiga y ella la quiere mucho, se le explicó que ya ella falleció y no cesa de hacer todo tipo de preguntas sobre ella. Lo último que me dijo en estos días fue, que si Papá Dios es luz, pues El vive en el Sol y también Selena porque ella también es luz y canta en Sol. Luego de ver este video, me queda muy claro el ‘fenómeno de Selena’ , le prometí a mi nietecita que la llevaría a Corpus Christi para ver el museo de ella. DLB siempre.

For all the ones that are saying that Selena’s mom looks sad well that is obvious, she lost her daughter and it is a pain that will never be forgotten.
I think this is the first time I heard her mom speak. That was my favorite part of this video and the beautiful stories about who she really was...a very humble and free spirit girl. I loved seeing her mom smile even when we all know the pain that she may still feel for her absence.
Her mother speaking was my favorite part of the interview, also.Wish we could hear more from her, but I respect her privacy/mourning process.
I would have love to hear the mom more. Always the others but this was truly the first time I seen the mom and head her speak. The best part of the whole interview.
AB deserves more credit he was almost like the manager or most hard working in the group they were all amazing but AB wrote majority of the songs, he found band members,he was making sure everyone was in check, and even though all the members were great and played such an important role he did so much and never got any recognition especially from the father.
I just want to say that I work with a female engineer fromTurkey. The first convo we had when she found out I was Mexican her eyes lit up! She’s like “I love Selena! Did u ever meet her? Where did she live? Can I go?!” I was so happy to tell her exactly where she could go and she did. :) she goes to the Selena festival every year

I freaking wanna give Marcela a hug. Seriously, one of those big, bear hugs where you can't help but feel the love. Everytime I see her in interviews, she seems so genuinely sweet. All she wants is to honor and remember her daughter...and share with the fans because she knows that's what Selena would want. And after all of these years, you can still see the grief in her eyes. 🥺

I never heard of Selena before I watched the Netflix series. I found it super good and even inspirational for me. I am 75 years old and live in Canada. This show also made me appreciate the beautiful Mexican culture.

I love this! I grew up listening to Selena... I think I was like 8 yrs old when she died. I was able to see her at the Houston, TX rodeo. It was an amazing experience ❤️ seeing her family 25 years later and hearing them talk about her is just beautiful. I miss her too man.. lol

I find it disrespectful that Chris wasn't notified that they were gonna have a People en Español interview with the Quintanilla family. I'm sure Chris would've said yes for the interview. I'm also disappointed that Abraham sued Chris for wanting to make a tv series about him and Selena's love life based off his book "To Selena with Love." But that bs show "El Secreto de Selena" was made and Abraham let that slide. Smh🤦♀️

You’re ignorant if you think they let that “El Secreto De Selena” tv series slide. They publicly stated their dislike for that series. Suzette called Maria Celeste out on video. Mr.Q released an essay publicly stating how hurt he and his family is because of Maria Celeste’s relentless efforts to put fourth the killers side of the story. So focused on telling false rumors. They had a back n fourth fight in the public eye. The only reason El Secreto de Selena was able to be released was because Maria Celeste found a legal loop hole by making her series within journalism laws. It’s a “reportive investigation” as she stated. And if you notice she wasn’t able to use any real images of Selena, her music or any real likeness because she had no legal authorization by the family. For example they showed a brief second of a photo of the actress they casted recreating the album cover of “Amor Prohibido” but it’s renamed as “Amor Escondido” so Maria Celeste can’t get sued LOL 💀
Also the only reason Mr.Q does not want Chris’s book to be released as a tv series is because he only wants ONE definitive tv series out so the public doesn’t get confused as to what’s authorized and what isn’t. He only wants ONE authorized movie out (the 1997 bio movie), one tv series (the netflix series) and soon a new authorized biographical book. On top of that he had issues with the stuff Chris wrote about. Most importantly about Chris’s sexual relationship with Selena. He doesn’t want any of that played out on any screen. Though overall the family has been supportive of Chris and his book and understands how therapeutic for him to finally open up after being closed off for many years. Unfortunately to stop Chris from making that tv series Mr.Q legally HAD to sue him for both the book and tv series to make a point that he gave up his exploitation rights. Chris willingly signed them over to her estate as Chris initially wanted nothing to do with Selena after her death. He completely shut everyone out and kept to himself. Unfortunately Selena needed a voice amidst all the drama and controversy after her death. Her father stepped up as her estate manager to be the voice for his daughter and had to put his grieving aside to deal with the media. He was there for his daughter when she needed that. Which is where the drama lays I think.
Chris suddenly now wants in and now wants to be there and speak on behalf of himself and Selena when her father didn’t have that luxury to pick n choose when he could speak and hide away to grieve his daughters loss. This is my speculation but I think they’re sorta frustrated at Chris because of this. He picks n chooses and disappears when the family has stuck by Selena since day 1. Selena had that problem with Chris during their relationship btw and Chris admitted to that. He didn’t know how to be there for her and she always felt his lack of support. They almost divorced because of it but they made up their differences and planned on renewing their vowels to eventually start a family before she passed away. This info is in Chris’s book so I’m not just making stuff up here like Maria Celeste.

I want to hear more from the Mother and AB, where they have a voice. Seems like the father takes control over everything and is very hard to get along with. Mom looks really sad. AB looks uncomfortable and doesn’t want to be there. They should do a one on one interview with the mom and AB. That is “if” her husband even allows it.

He loves his daughter, but he refused to allow anyone else to love her and I am talking about his refusal to accept her husband. That kind of love is obsessive and selfish. I get his grief... but his daughter loved her husband and its as though he has just ostracized him from the family. He is saying Selena is a beautiful person but you are NOT honouring her beauty by being like this. I can only imagine how the husband feels.
She was the moneymaker.. that’s why her loved her. There are many videos of him not letting her hug fans or do interviews with his hand on her shoulder saying “we have to go, there’s no time” when she would try to stop to talk to fans.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting the best for your daughter . We as fans need to realize Selena respected her father and would want her fans to do the same

I showed my friend Selena for the first time and as soon as she came on the screen he blurted out what a nice soul. He could see how great she was a few seconds into her song. He could feel her energy and her talent immediately. It was nice to see that.
