like my husband is!! lol!! I just rescued a severely neglected 15 year old dog 5 days ago haha I love him so much already and he is doing so much better already & fit into my small pack nicely
For suggestions - when potty training every time you take him out of his crate CARRY him outside and put him in the grass and reward him after he goes! Also start training him now! Sit, paw, stay, etc… it’s never too early! Good luck!❤
Rewarding after he goes is a great idea! I did find with my pup that he would go outside and squat but not actually go so make sure he goes before giving a treat. Congratulations on the new pup!
Congratulations on expanding your family and thank you for rescuing!! He's going to have a fantastic life with you and Zac, this is so heart warming and exciting!🐕❤
Like you need more advice... but, the best thing I ever did with my puppy was, first thing, taught her to come when called. A leash and treats and maybe 1/2 hour, at 8 weeks old. Got my advice from a puppy book inside my 1st bag of puppy chow (before designer dog food had been invented!). That lesson with her lasted her entire lifetime. If she could hear me, she would come without dawdling or a moment of hesitation, from anywhere. Kept her safe. Kept me safe. Have fun and enjoy him!
I’m also a rescue pup mom. My dog was found abandoned in Georgia as a pup and transported up here to Boston to a shelter. She is now 6 and the best dog!
I love Asher. He is adorable. The first night with my pup, I put the cage next to my bed and kept my hand near next to the cage and helped her sleep through the night. 7 years later she is still my baby. You both are going to have so much fun!!!’
Congrats on the new puppy and new member of the family. So cute. I hope he brings you so much love. I can’t even imagine not having a dog, they bring so much love.😊
Congratulations on the new puppy! Asher is such a cutie! Also, not puppy related your hair flipped to the side looks amazing! I immediately noticed it and it changed your look!
Omg . I love him. Puppies are such good company when you work at home. I am slightly concerned about my mental health now that this video made me cry. 😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Awww this is making me reminisce about bringing our dog home 3 years ago. I didn't really want a dog, but my boyfriend (now husband) convinced me. And like Zach, once we had her picked out I was just so excited to bring her home and the day we did was so fun :)
As someone who is in my mid twenties and has had 2 puppies in the last couple years, time goes by so quick. Treasure the puppy days despite the little sleep you’ll get. It’s a lot of hard work at first but so worth it! He is so cute! ❤
I am BEYOND so happy for yall Clancy! When we first adopted our kittens, I was afraid of “losing” them as they got older. I love them just as much now if not more. #adoptdontshop
Hi, Clancy and Happy Wednesday!😊😊😊😊😊😎☀💙💙💙💙💙💙🌷💖💖💖💖💖💖🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇👍. I'm so glad that you found a puppy and bring him home (thank heavens🙏)! Also, those puppies 10:11 are so cute and loveable. Awwwww!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍👍
Congratulations. Love the new puppy. As someone who has had five dogs as an adult, I've raised adult rescues and puppies. Don't shy away from kennel training. Dogs do so well in the kennel if they are just given the opportunity to get comfortable. We've had several dogs who loved their kennel to sleep during the night. Give him lots of exercise especially during their puppy years. Walks every day and toys to distract from him ruining your stuff. These phase is probably the most challenging. Don't get discouraged. He's going to have accidents, but eventually he will be potty trained and able to hold it for longer periods. Expect early wake ups too!
You may want to consider getting a snuggle puppy . We use them in a rescue. A stuffed animal with a heartbeat. Helps comfort them. Congratulations and thanks for adopting a rescue!!!
1. CONGRATULATIONS on your beautiful and adorable Asher!! This made me tear up. I am so so happy for you and Zac! 2. I clicked so fast on your link to pick up the Blumene. Thanks for being so transparent and trustworthy with your sponsor choices! I can't wait to try it!
If you keep a piece of big square plywood outside on the ground you can lift it up after it snows and there will be a big patch for him to use the potty on snow free 😁😁
Asher has hit the jackpot getting u 2 for mom and dad! So funny seeing all you bought him. ZAk is going to be crazy about this dog. That face is so cute!!
Congratulations Clancy and Zac!!! He is so so cute! We got our golden retriever puppy last year in Jan and it definitely is an adventure getting a puppy in the winter! But so so worth it! Don’t be too hard on yourselves or your puppy! Asher will grow up and get better at all the things with time and training! 💙💙
Awe wee. Congrats! When ours came home as a pup he whined that night quite a bit. The third night I placed a heating pad on low under a thick blanket/ bedding and he curled up and slept. I done that almost a week. It helped a lot. Congratulations ❤️
I’m so happy for you both❤❤ welcome to the doggie club! It’s the best journey and the love you all will share will be like nothing else you can imagine ❤️❤️❤️ can’t wait for more Asher videos .
aww congrats you guys!! can i also just mention, yes it's so sweet to see Zac be so playful, but Clance you're so maternal! this is one of the first times i see it.. and it's the sweetest thing to watch! thank you guys for sharing! 🥹💙
Can’t wait to hear how the crate training is going! Our 8 week old puppy cried every 1-2 hours at night basically the first month of having her like a newborn. We ended up circling back to crate training once she was an adult and now she sleeps in there every night peacefully without a peep ever ❤good luck on your puppy adventures!
I felt the same way when I got my girl Xena. I feel like I carried her in my stomach for 9 months, I wouldn’t know what to do without her. It’s the best feeling ever.
I’m one of those people that doesn’t want a dog, but I love them. I love that you talk about changing your mind because that’s normal and a part of life. Watching this made me so happy and I am so happy for you and Zac! Y’all are going to best dog parents!!! Asher laying on Zac in the basement 🥹🥹🥹😍 so adorable!! So happy for you Clancy!!!
Yayy how exciting!! I adopted a puppy this same time last year and potty trained him in Northern Michigan. It was COLD! But we did it and he’s the best. Good luck with Asher he sure is adorable. Also I am the one who convinced my husband we needed a dog, he picked him out and named him as well.
I had to pause before even finishing the video… congrats mom and dad!!! He is SO ADORABLE! He’s giving me such puppy fever! He looks perfect for your family!! Can’t wait to watch him grow up with you 🥲🥹
Oh my gosh! He is adorable! Zac’s initial smile when you all were driving home said it all. Mission accomplished. 😊 P.s. I also had a no couch rule. That went out the door really fast 😂
Haven’t watched the full video yet but from the title I am so excited for you!!!! Getting a dog was the best thing I’ve ever done. The love and happiness he brings to our home is the best❤
Awwwwww he’s perfect for you!!! I may or may not have teared up on this one 😂. His basement play and bonding with both of you was so sweet. Been waiting for a week for this vlog and waited even more to watch on the big tv haha. Congratulations and I am soooooo excited to see more of baby Asher and am 100% baby talking to my 5 year old dog while watching your new baby!!
His temperament and your love for him reminds me so much of my dog and our bond. Thank you for vlogging and sharing this, it really brought me back to when I first got my boy. Even the supplies you got and all the reading and research you did reminded me of myself at that time, haha for the record, I've neverrrr ever been annoyed or regretted having him. It's hard to believe but the love and bond you have will only grow stronger! Also my guy was much smaller than his littermates too, and they said he would probably be 40-45 lbs and he is now 73 lbs 😂 50-60 lbs is the avg for his breed, so he actually ended up way bigger than expected! I think he is just very beta (which is a good thing and makes him easy to train!) and backs off when other dogs want food, so I think he wasn't eating as much with them around. Asher seems to have a similar temperament. Have fun and enjoy the puppy snuggles and breath and cuteness!
Awww, soo cute! Love the name. They do know. I picked mine from a picture of the litter when only a couple of weeks old. She was the only one with a white patch on her paw. She also ran right up to me when we arrived. Great way to pick, always go for the calmer one. lol They love baby talk & kisses!
Congrats, Clancy and Zac. Asher is definitely a cutie. By the way, baby talk is just fine. Socialize, socialize, socialize that boy. The earlier the better. I didn't get my boy until he was already 7 months old and it's been a challenge getting him used to the big, bad world.
He's so cute!! He's got charisma, and is very adorable. I have a Toy Poodle/Bichon Frise mix she's my bestie we raised her from a puppy too! It's so fun because you develop a really tight bond.
Oh Clancy!!! I’m so excited for you guys. It is a huge commitment and life adjustment when getting a dog and puppies are so much work. But it is so worth it and I’m glad to hear you are so happy with your decision. I can’t wait to hear how the first few nights went. When we first got our puppy, who is three now, I used a suggestion from a trainer I follow online to put the crate up on a nightstand or chair so they are at head level with you. Also, I slept in our guest room with the pup for the first little while since I anticipated having to get up multiple times throughout the night for potty outings initially. Luckily, we only had to do that the first two or three nights. He was such a good sleeper. I commend you for doing all that reading up. You are going to be a great dog mom. It helps that you have prior experience, too. I agree with not using pee pads in the house as it only teaches them that it is ok to go inside. So excited for your journey, and yes, please share all about your life with Asher so far on your channel. I remember how all- consuming puppies are and they really do become your world. Sorry Zac.. 😂 When does Asher get to meet Neal’s dog?
ok I actually shed a little tear when you guys brought home your little guy. I have a cat and do let her on my furniture, but I only have used furniture and I also put a blanket down. I know everyone has different expectations for pets. asher has the best parents ever! you guys will do just fine. and on the topic of getting purebreds, if we didn't have a dog/cat problem here in the US, getting a purebred wouldn't be that bad. also, you can find some cool breeds at the shelter if you really take the time to look!
He looks a little like my Sadie. We thought she was a Belgian Malinois when we rescued her at 4 months (Asher looks like her size though at 4 months haha). However, when I did more research, I found out she's a black mouth cur! Asher looks like he could be too! They are very loyal and learn QUICKLY as long as you are consistent with training. VERY high energy so they need lots of exercise and play is important too. All Sadie wants to do is play. Congrats you two! Definitely look into BMC's to see if that is what he could be (they are also mutts, we think Sadie is part pitbull).
Congrats on adopting Asher!! I'm an independent rescuer who loves the hard cases. I mainly rescue dogs with behavioral or medical issues which can be stressful, but I love the reward of seeing how much they improve with a little love. My favorite dog trainer to follow is Tom Davis with Upstate Canine Academy. He has a UA-cam channel under Tom Davis Dog Training, and you may find some helpful tips from videos in his playlist. You can also find more helpful tips on his website blog at Upstate Canine. You'll do great with Asher and he's going to be a stunning boy when he gets bigger. 🐾
I am really starting to lean towards having a pet and will pay close attention to your journey and take notes along the way. I love the idea of crate training. I am very happy for Zack and you. God bless.
I have a 6 month golden right now. Potty training tip that has worked is keeping a lease on them at all times it helps with getting them quickly if they run away and I keep her with me at all times and keep her in one room at a time so I can see her before she has an accident. I crate her if I can't be with her. It really helped!
I don’t know what was more cuter….Asher or the baby talk!!! He’s so precious and looks total in love with his new mom and dad. Looking forward to more Asher content. 😊
Congrats! My boyfriend & I have 3 dogs. Asher is adorable. Love that you’ve done your research & you’re doing everything you can to learn more. It’ll be a fun ride! 🩷
Omg Asher and his siblings are so stinkin’ cute!! So excited for you guys! Loved the smile on Zac’s face in the car right after you got him, you can see the genuine enthusiasm he was hiding before lol. It’ll be interesting to see how big he gets! Maybe you guys can do the wisdom panel dna test, they’re really fun and you get results fairly quick! Ugh I can’t wait to see him in all your vlogs, congrats! 🩵🩵🩵
My dog is an English mastiff/ black lab mix. He was the runt on the liter and he now weighs 120lbs lol (and he is healthy according to vet so not overweight)
Congratulations on being a dog mom! 🐶🎉 We have a mini schnauzer, and YT was my best friend when training. We bell trained ours, and he caught on quick. You just have to be consistent and use the same words every time. On both potty training and learning commands, we used a clicker and rewarded with a mini treat immediately. Having a puppy is almost like having a newborn. But we were so lucky with ours. I put my shirt that I had been wearing all day in his crate on night 2, and he hasn’t cried since. Night 1, I knelt down by his crate and gently ssshhed him to let him know I was there. But didn’t take him out the crate at all. Once he quieted down, I got back in my bed. His crate was next to our bed. At this point, I’m sure you’ve had him for a while so this may not be helpful to you. But def look it up in YT. Videos helped me so much. So happy for you!
No words, he’s precious! I need them all. Congratulations to a 3 of you! 🐶🐾🦴♥️ *from personal experience having 2 dogs is easier. Not necessarily 2 puppies.*
Asher is stunning! Love his whiskers and beautiful eyes! So happy for you. One suggestion: make sure he gets comfortable with you touching EVERY part of his body. Put your fingers in his ears, in his mouth, between his toes, etc…. It will make such a difference in his tolerating you brushing his teeth etc…. Love how much you love him already.
Kongs are great! Putting treats in them and or freezing them with peanut butter is great! I agree rescues and shelters around here are at capacity. It's so ideal adopting. Asher is ADORABLE!
So just so you know, my 7 year old black lab Ava, got super excited when she saw Asher on the T.V. screen. It was the sweetest thing. So congratulations on your new lil man, and apparently a new fan! 😂
Looks like my BMC/boxer mix! Black mouth Cur & Boxer 😁 He is the best! I adopted him after fostering. I recommend belly bands, use the same door for potty, go to one spot all the time. No walks outside until 16 weeks. Mastiffs are pretty strong willed! A qualified trainer would go so far ❤ board training can be helpful for individuals having a really tough time. Pet insurance too!! Best of luck!
I knew it! I said Sherlock because he caught my eye right away. He was so quiet and sweet, and just looked for a spot at the inn to sleep. You kept putting your camera on him so I'm not surprised. Sherlock is who I would have picked. So cute!!!!!!
We went with the most smallest pup now 2 and the feeling is mutual about having one. walk him daily and have him know the neighborhood and trust you with the leash daily walks are healthy for them…❤ n repeating yourself he’ll learn quicker because your the alpha 😂in the pack now
I predict Zach will turn into one of those men who, after emphatically saying "NO DOGS!," turns into the biggest puppy softie in the whole world.
Hahaha yesss! It’s already happening 🥰
Oh my, Asher is adorable!!
like my husband is!! lol!! I just rescued a severely neglected 15 year old dog 5 days ago haha I love him so much already and he is doing so much better already & fit into my small pack nicely
Clancy the baby talk will never go away that’s the only way to talk to dogs 😂
For suggestions - when potty training every time you take him out of his crate CARRY him outside and put him in the grass and reward him after he goes!
Also start training him now! Sit, paw, stay, etc… it’s never too early!
Good luck!❤
Thank you!!!
Rewarding after he goes is a great idea! I did find with my pup that he would go outside and squat but not actually go so make sure he goes before giving a treat. Congratulations on the new pup!
yes as soon as their little paws touch the ground, they pee 🥲
Stop it!!!!!! The way he has his ears back going back-and-forth from you to Zac I cannot. Congrats mom and dad!!!! 😊
Thank you!! ❤️
Congratulations on expanding your family and thank you for rescuing!! He's going to have a fantastic life with you and Zac, this is so heart warming and exciting!🐕❤
Thank you so much!!❤️
I 100% guessed Sherlock because you focused on him quite a bit in the early clips and he was being such a sweet pie 😍
Aww congrats!! 🐶 he looks like he’s gonna be a big boy! It’ll be so fun to see him grow up!
Thank you!! I’m so excited to document his whole journey!
You can really tell how much research you did before getting him!! I can’t wait to see him grow…and Zac get more and more attached to Asher 😉❤
Zac with his pink stanley "warm & cuzzy" 🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️lmao!!!!
I haven't happy-cried this hard in a long time! Sooo excited to watch him grow with his new mom & dad! 🎉❤
Aww!!! Thank you 🥹❤️
How cute is that good boy?!? I’m so excited to see Asher grow. So happy for y’all and him.
Thank you!!❤️
This video made me cry just thinking about the amazing life you’re going to give him! Congratulations ❤
I’m also a rescue pup mom. My dog was found abandoned in Georgia as a pup and transported up here to Boston to a shelter. She is now 6 and the best dog!
You can tell he is so happy to be home with you two! I just know you'll love 'em like he deserves.
Why am I crying right now?!? You are precious! What a sweet Asher. God really outdid himself when he made dogs ❤️
You know it's a good sign when Zac just keeps saying, "We'll just have to see..."!! ☺ Congrats on the puppy! 💜
Bless you guys for saving beautiful Asher.
I totally agree with going to the shelter.!!!
I love Asher. He is adorable. The first night with my pup, I put the cage next to my bed and kept my hand near next to the cage and helped her sleep through the night. 7 years later she is still my baby. You both are going to have so much fun!!!’

Thank you so much!
Omg he’s so cute I’m literally in love with him 😭 the way he jumps around melts my heart ❤️ He seems like a perfect fit for you two, congratulations!
Thank you so much!!💞 we are in love 🥹
Congratulations on the new puppy! Asher is such a cutie! Also, not puppy related your hair flipped to the side looks amazing! I immediately noticed it and it changed your look!
Also I can’t wait for him to meet Neil! I know he’s the “dog whisperer “
Aw! Thank you so much!!
I predicted Sherlock from those photos you showed us because he kind of had Walter-like vibes about him 🤷♀️ That’s too funny that’s who you got ❤
Omg . I love him. Puppies are such good company when you work at home. I am slightly concerned about my mental health now that this video made me cry. 😂😂❤❤❤❤❤

so happy for you guys. you are both over the moon....
I also cannot believe it’s been almost 6 years since you’ve been with Zac & the fact I started watching u long before that is nuts to me!
Getting a pup in your 20s is so fun bc they start as your baby then become your best friend❤️ congrats yall!!
As someone who is in my mid twenties and has had 2 puppies in the last couple years, time goes by so quick. Treasure the puppy days despite the little sleep you’ll get. It’s a lot of hard work at first but so worth it! He is so cute! ❤
Also a doggy door helped with potty training so much if that is possible for you!
Am I the only one that gets early 2000s talk show intro vibes from Clancy’s new intro?! 😂 I love it!

Congratulations on Asher! He’s adorable. Don’t give up on the training, stay consistent, and you will have a wonderful companion in Asher!
Puppies are the perfect practice to prepare for a baby! My dog has that same lambchop and loves it! Your dog is so lucky to have you!

🥲 he's perfection! Congratulations! I hope you all are acclimating well together. ❤
Sooooo cute! I am going to cry. I am so happy for you! ❤ I'm so happy for Asher for the loving home he has with you guys!
What a sweet happy little guy! He is beautiful! And what joy he will bring to you all!
Thank you!!💞💞
Congrats 🎊 Sending love ❤️ to you Zac and Asher🐶 have a wonderful time learning about each other ❤️
I am really starting to lean towards having a pet and will pay close attention to your journey and take notes along the way.
Congrats on the new addition! Asher is so cute!
I don’t know what was more cuter….Asher or the baby talk!!! He’s so precious and looks total in love with his new mom and dad. Looking forward to more Asher content. 😊
Great job rescuing, Clancy!
Congrats! My boyfriend & I have 3 dogs. Asher is adorable. Love that you’ve done your research & you’re doing everything you can to learn more. It’ll be a fun ride! 🩷
Thank you so much!!
He is so precious!!! Congratulations Mom & Dad!! 💙💙💙
ASHER is so Cute, enjoy him Guys 🥰🥰🇬🇧
*from personal experience having 2 dogs is easier. Not necessarily 2 puppies.*
Ahhhh I am so happy for you guys! He’s going to really make your house a home. 🥰 congratulations momma!
Thank you so much!!💞
Asher is stunning!
There is so much joy in this video. I’m so happy for you two (or I guess I should say 3)
Congratulations on your new puppy! So excited to watch him grow 😊. Thank you for the link with the discount code, I immediately jumped on it!
Asher is gorgeous and so sweet. I think you choose the right puppy. Enjoy every moment!
My favorite book is Dog Training for Dummies. Awesome tips!
We went with the most smallest pup now 2 and the feeling is mutual about having one. walk him daily and have him know the neighborhood and trust you with the leash daily walks are healthy for them…❤ n repeating yourself he’ll learn quicker because your the alpha 😂in the pack now
One more thing carry bacon watch Cesar the dog whisper 😅he’s gonna protect your home stay blessed 😇
