The birds sound like what are called corvids or crows. I love them. They are smart and able to develop good (if noisy) relationships with people. In the USA crows, ravens, jays, magpies etc. are all corvids.

I haven't watched this video, but just finished the previous two. As I watched I thought to myself, what Diff does in his shop in the Forrest, would make a great fantasy Children's book The Mystical Mr. Diff who lives deep in a forrest in South Africa. In this Forrest Mr Diff has a workshop full of magical tools and machines. He uses these to build custom trucks like no has ever seen. You get the idea, what you need is someone who writes that type of book. I'll bet if show them some of your videos, they will develop a terrific book. I'll take one for me, a couple for the great grandsons, what ever it takes for the the rest of the kids in the family. Just thoughts from a crazy old fart in East Texas, where it has been way over 100 for 40 days.......Ron York
Oh, walking a junk yard, especially ones with classic vehicles or unusual items... My Dad used to take me with him to the junkyards in our area as a kid and teenager. Still enjoy it today, even just looking. Kinda do similar looking on the craig listings online, too. Good fun.
It's amusing that you ask what the audience would suggest. After watching you work I doubt that I could suggest ANYTHING which would be an improvement. It looks great.
Good old days HotRodding at its best. Day’s of using what you have and create what you don’t. Love hanging out with you brother. You inspire me and I’m sure many others , young and old 👍🏻✌🏻
You did a great job. The idea of having the tanks vertical in the middle makes for less sloshing around of fuel safer from rear end impact and ease of filling.
I love the tanks. I think the truck is gonna need some boards on top of the box with Rat Rods For Africa routed out and filled with blue pearl epoxy. Have a lekka one brother!
Good tank building process and a good decision on where to put the tanks. I didn't know that I would be getting a math lesson when I started watching your Rat Truck build.
I am in the states. I have done a fair bit of work in Japan and Bahrain and had to use the metric system at times to work with the locals. I wish we would go to the metric system here, so much simpler to work with. Your fuel tanks are an interesting solution to a simple problem.
👍👌👏 Very well done again (video, design and work). Congrats, it was a wise decision to not put a horizontal tank on the back of the Hudson. In case of an accident, it would've been very unsafe. The two tanks also look much better where they are sitting now. In fact it looks great. 2) Maaaan, I definitely like your scrap metal prices. In Germany one gas bottle would cost what you paid for everything. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular.
In 1972 we were told that the US would be fully converted to the metric system by 1975! They were off a few decades!!! As a tool and die maker, forced to use two systems of measurement I wish they had followed through back in ‘75!!! It definitely is a simpler, easier method!! These tanks are great!! And the site “glass” level tube is a clever idea!!
When I was a lot younger I loved roaming around junkyards so much I went to work in one. We used to get between 25 to 50 cars a day. I went home with a truck load almost everyday. Needless to say that the owner of the yard was a pretty cool guy. I think that the 3/8 cross pipe would work when driving but you would need to shut one off for filling. Maybe just vent one of the tanks, like my old Harley does. Just a thought. Keep up the great work.
hi diff loved your video your tig welding is spot on mate the bottles you used were made by A GAS which i used to work for in Bristol in the uk it is a small world very smart use of old tanks they look Brillant have a good one until next time
Looking quite purposeful, would definitely add more drama with your two part mixing tanks. You should paint each a different color, label them T-stoff and C-stoff like the highly reactive fuels from the Me163 Komet. I am glad you are not putting a tailgate or floor over your beautiful Rube Goldberg creations. Look forward to seeing your progress each week, thanks for the break from my day to day.
Ha, you're out a decimal place...but the answer was right. Just being a smart arse. Love your work, thanks for posting your videos, I get a lot of inspiration from these.
Love the tanks that you created for your Rat Rod Truck, I am sure you are considering to tie the two tanks together with perhaps a 1/2 pipe between them. Would like to see how you finish these tanks up and connect with to a fuel filter to your engine.
Pressure testing with air is dangerous. Learned this the hard way... 2 smaller vertical tanks is a great idea, especially considering sloshing of the fuel. Great work!
@@ratrodsafricaIn my job we were testing as you do. When one vessel burst one day @ 5 bar it was epic, and the bottom flying off nearly hit one of my coleagues. Since then we test any tank filled with water - our pump gets to 2,5 bar and we may increase it with air. Water is incompressible and takes the same volume @ 0 as well as 10 or 15 bar. Any leak, no matter how small gets the pressure back to zero. With air a 25 liter tank gets filled with 75 more @ 3 bar. That's a lot of air pushing out. Just 2 bar for example is 2 kg for every square cm of the internal surface of the tank, and for your tank that's 12*12*3.14*56=25321sq cm *2=50 tons. Water does not decompress explosively...

Yes Div, nice tank job. I still like the original rear fenders though. Give a good day. Have a good day also. If you are going to pull a trailer original fenders won't work.
I love that idea of the twin tanks, I used a 10gal. air tank once and had some kind of cutting torch brass filter for the vent, with the guard on your sight tube it would be helpful to have a bright colored plastic ball as a float, just make sure it doesn't fit thru the metal tube or its only good for one fill, lol, great work diff, it's looking fantastic
I'm glad you went for the NON-PINTO option !!
Awesome 👍

Fuel tanks look great. The cover over the sight gauge is a nice industrial look.
Bloopers.😂. turn on the camera and get tongue-tied. Can relate ➰️👅🪢

Love the truck, I have a 1938 International Harvester. The rear window is identical to mine. The paint on mine looks like yours, rough and blue.

Tanks for another good one Div..From the back ,the swage on the cab gives the illusion the tanks are joined.looks great as per.Cheers .

The top of fuel caps would look good as pair of Those nock off wheel nuts seen on old cars and old race cars . it would match your wheels perfect to .
Interesting idea
Nice work, I think the truck is starting to get a really cool Steampunk theme to it with the added fuel tanks. Coming along quite nicely.
once again a great video with explanation of why and how to make reallt trick tanks and brackets ...love it well done
