Giant Beautiful Black Drum!!!

I take another much needed solo trip from Atlantic City, New Jersey down to Cape May, New Jersey to tangle with the beautiful Black Drum.
These fish are there to spawn. please consider catch and release. I am actually upset with myself for removing a few for a quick picture. No reason to even remove them from the water if you can easily get the hook out.

I used to go down there for the drum years ago. We would stay at So Jersey Marina. Great trips. Looking fwd to doing them in my whaler soon! Another great video Chris ! Enjoyed it like always brother!!!

Never knew there are Black Drum that far up in the northeast. I moved to Texas and we catch giants here routinely. Slot size for us are 14-30 in. The smaller ones are great eating. Bigger ones are full of worms.

I’ve had them drum under the boat all night without a bite, my dad used to say the same thing. Seems for me at least over the last couple years I’ve been getting them good while they’re drumming. Such an awesome and strange fishery. Had a good year this year, didn’t see that many bombers tho.

it's been good to the north of me. I did have one good trip close to home solo on the contender. 9 bluefin and 1 monster yellowfin all solo with noone else on the boat!!
