This is my absolute favorite version of Ten to Butter Blood Voodoo. This is from an acoustic set the boys did for kblt radio in 1998 and John's first performance, newly rejoined pre- Californication. John also did Untitled #11 which I also made a Short for Stuff. I love John in this era, so quiet and humble, but that genius outpouring just about to resurface. Just beautiful.

And you're right about John in the "shortly-after-drugs" era, nicely put.♥️ I love Niandra Lades and Smiles a lot, there's something unique and magical about these albums even though some of the songs are full of pain I think I've never heard anything like it before, and the fact that makes it so special is how real John is in those recordings (well, he's pretty much real in anything he does and that's why I think me and the other fans appreciate him and love him, but you know what I'm trying to say 😀).
