Simply being in the screen more doesn't mean Chad has a bigger budget than Kenpachi, and Kenpachi isn't even that far off from Chad in terms of screentime lol. Do you know how much fight scenes cost? And how many fights Kenpachi has been in for the entirety of the series thus far? We don't even need to calculate everything cuz it's so obvious Kenpachi has a bigger budget than him. They cut Gremmy’s backstory. Ywach kept the dude in a prison cell his whole life because his power was too OP and uncontrollable. Ywach himself was nervous bout it. Also why Gremmy didn’t fight all that great. Dude never had a fight in his life. Just his imagination.

My favorite detail is that other sternritter were afraid to even be seen by him, because once he saw them he could imagine them 😳

He was isolated because he was off the charts, the scene where even the other sternritters are basically crapping themsleves was cut. Gremmy and Gerard are overpowered.
Gremmy IS the strongest. People conveniently forget that the 4 sternritters that go up with Yhwach isn't actually stronger than Squad Zero, they were all just buffed by Auswählen. Imagine if Gremmy got that buff (Altho unlikely since he doesn't seem as loyal and fanatic as the rest).

This fight was amazing, to give you a glimpse of how powerful and strong Kenpachi is, Gremmy who’s one of the strongest Sternritters due to his imagination ability which is basically reality warping. He was able to imagine Kenpachi’s power but he died because he couldn’t withstand that kind of power. Kenpachi who can’t even use Bankai yet was that absurdly strong and he held his own against a reality warper and easily destroyed a meteor. 🔥

For those who thinks why Gremmy just didn't make Kenpachi's bones cookies like Yachiru or imagine him dying like explode his brain, heart,etc is because of Reiatsu difference. Remember when Soi Fon use her shikai on Aizen it didn't work because having advantage on Reiatsu ignores abilities. You can also see that only Gremmy did was to imagine things around Kenpachi not on his body directly (lava, water, being on space, etc.). You can also put this on Gremmy's perspective that he wants to flex his power and not being creative enough because he has no battle experience due to being locked up by Yhwach.
You can also argue why Gremmy didn't just imagine himself having greater Reiatsu than Kenpachi. As I said, he has no battle experience and his abilities is limited on his own imagination. If this ability was given to Aizen or Urahara, the verse is done.
He tried to make himself stronger than kenpachi and failed. Why would he be able to make himself have higher reiastu

And now the same happens here. Gremmy is what happens when you give a Child the mind of God (Soul King)
He probably could’ve imagined Kenpachi out of existence but aside from the lack of spiritual pressure, he wanted to test him out and beat him fair and square, as well as break down his hope and spirits.
Last episode was simply a priority, but this as well as the next and finale (Ep 26) are high priority ones.
Don’t forget there’s also the lack of experience. The fact that there’s never been a proper challenge not even from the Sternritters “No one ever tried to lay a finger on me.” Meaning there was never an opportunity to truly polish this broken ability. When your first real opponent is someone like Kenpachi Zaraki, there isn’t much time to think on the spot and is understandable to make you panic. Kenpachi still ended up pretty damaged as we’ll see next episode.

As you've seen him in this ep, Gremmy was the 5th strongest Stern Ritter. But as you saw, he was literally a brain in a jar. His Schrift, "V" the Visionary, is only second to the power of Yuha.
Gremmy's downfall was that he was literally locked away in a prison by Yuha for 90% of his life. He is mentally unstable bcz of his power. He had no battle experience since everyone was afraid of him and what he could do.
Also, his 1st ever fight was against the empowered Kenpachi.
Everyone felt that Gremmy was just a sacrifice for Kenny and his new power.

Kenpachi's reiatsu in Shikai isn't leagues ahead of his base form's reiatsu. We know Bankai increases power by 5 to 10 times, we never got that type of figure for Shikai, the increase could be miniscule or nonexistent.

So I read this when it came out 10 years ago before you all even started reacting to this. For Wells specifically, ever since he decided kenpachi was his favorite I have been excited for him to see this episode animated. I mean I'm excited just as a fan to finally see it animated after waiting for so long but also for people to see what these characters are really capable of.

@@Step43099 To be honest, I suspect that we will see an expansion of the seen where Chad helps with the stone soldiers, which by their agreement would constitute a fight. It just has to be a few seconds long and that Chad is fighting. The Anime seems to be trying harder to give characters their moment to shine since they can expand on things the anime didn't. So even a 15 second sequence of Chad would fit and cost Wellz the bet.

What was revealed in this episode are things I was hoping and waiting for years to see come to life. It was cool to see Yachiru in action and since day one I’ve said it, Kenpachi Zaraki is the GOAT! The fight itself and being able to see the panels animated was beyond tremendous. The visuals of him cutting the meteor and transitioning into his younger self was beautiful. He finally called out Nozarashi’s name and we were finally able to see that glorious Shikai! What a beast and he hasn’t even taken the eyepatch off. I just want to see Kenpachi destroy everyone 🤘🏽 I cannot wait to see what’s coming.

Himpachi is the full frontal assault, imma whip that ass type of ninja. In this fight, he mindfked Gremmy so hard. Thats what made this fight special, imo.

@@AaZone. That's not really how that works. Unfortunately, the star knights are very villain of the week Jojo-esque style where they exist for a fight and nothing else. In the manga, Gremmy only exists in a single volume and never comes up again. In the anime, he showed up earlier but does and says nothing before going through a rushed character arc and dying in a single episode.
Even Jugram and Bazz-B gets a skeleton of a character arc with them doing not a lot. Jugram's final battle with Uryu felt like a kindergarten argument.
There are 4 cours here, so someone will get more screentime, but most of the sternritters still suffer. The 3 fodder Zaraki killed. Royd who existed to show off Yamamoto's bankai. Driscoll who died by Yamamoto. Shaz Domino who got beat by Ichigo. Cang and BG9 who just got executed for the explanation of Yhwach's powers. Bambietta gets done dirty af.
As Nodt was done fairly well and actually has a brief backstory. He lacks screentime to be more iconic like some Espada. Anyways, these are just the ones the anime has showed off. The Bleach world isn't expored in detail, so all the characters are shoved in a single arc working toward the same goals together so they don't feel very dynamic. This was already a problem with the arrancars who get called disappointing and cut down by Aizen within the same arc, and the quincy cast is much the same. All that matters is that Yhwach gets the almighty, so he can return the world. So technically all these other fights are glorified filler, because Yhwach is the only one that matters and can accomplish it all by himself. It would be better if they got multiple arcs to do stuff like the Akatsuki. I wonder who will benefit from cour 4. Any thoughts?
