      Totally agree. She should also be on the Portuguese jury for the actual ESC. Although I'm not sure you can do both :D

    • @Phantas43
      @Phantas43 7 років тому +13

      I think being able to have some say in selecting the entry is of more importance - Luisa is a woman of the world, she now has gotten a taste of Eurovision and gets how it works... and isn't bound to the staunch perception of Portuguese entries, yet also holds close to the Portuguese identity. She seems well equipped to know which artist might fit the "Eurovision Mold" best... or even which SONG! :)

    • @Phantas43
      @Phantas43 7 років тому +6

      which IMHO is all the more reason why she SHOULD be on such a panel.

    • @Phantas43
      @Phantas43 7 років тому +23

      well I never meant for anyone to be skipped off the team :) but from her interviews I feel she's a woman of the world, she has lived in the USA just like her brother... she sings herself... and composes... allrounder with talent right there :) And someone who, from her own words, doesn't feel the need to be in Eurovision as a performer. She would make a great addition to Portugal's team

    Luisa is indeed a fantastic woman. Here in Portugal she is sometimes criticized because of the songs she makes and the way she sings. The song Amar Pelos Dois was also widely criticized, and there are still many Portuguese who do not like anything about this magnificent song. It was so good that Portugal went to the Final and won the ESC 2017, to silence all the people who only know how to say evil of this wonderful song, which for me is one of the best of all time.

  • @HerrCrankzy

    I just love the interview, brilliantly conducted but then I expected no less so the real surprise for me was Luisa she seems so honest, natural, genuine but she actually knows what she's talking about (and can do it in English for which I'm so grateful, funny how she wrote a song in Portuguese and most acts that sing..well.. perform in English are not quite as articulate iykwim (yes I'm very, very old, and my age can be guessed from acronyms in acronyms). While being genuine and natural she seems not just clever or bright but intelligent and I have a feeling she's much more sophisticated than one might think. It's because she doesn't giver herself airs & graces and is extremely funny. We all get how unique this Eurovision entry is for both siblings and I so get it why she would rather have a unique but special memory rather than be a Eurovision act . She's really more about jazz and cool. ESC could embrace that but the more fanatic fans don't so I have no expectations that the song will do anything other then qualify and end up close to the top 10. As a non-partisan this is by far the best song this year of all the 13 or 14 countries that sent songs rather than gimmicky eurotrash or mimicry of the worst possible kind of American Urban Contemporary (sometimes they even go for 'Murica Rural Mega C&W Hit" - which always worked once , country music by eueopeans I mean ..more below) music except without the music or the presence or the charisma or charm and waaaay OTT productions that make these non-songs instantly forgettable. I did love the year the NL sent a country song but that was the last time I genuinely saw some quality and I'm not mistaken in thinking the duo (was it the Linnets? I am googleless) did not win. . Never mind beautiful music from the past that I still listen to every once in a while it's ESC. It should win and I don't get the Italian song at all, is it supposed to be racist, funny, ironic, mindless? It will win for sure but before I listened to Portugal's entry my favourites were Belgium (studio recording and brilliant video, shame she'll have to sing live, I get that she is better but better than terrible is such a shame) and The Netherlands. I'm not anywhere near that corner of Europe but they were the best. France was charming to begin with but ended up..not. Thanks for the wonderful interview and best wishes to Luisa and her brother I'm sure both will achieve great things and move a lot of people with their music. It just sounds 'peculiar« to people who never listen to anything they can't dance to or isn't a power ballad sung by some diva. That's a very limited range. TT from Germany, you'll have as many 12 points as I can give you Portugal. Here the song splits opinions and there's an interesting video on YT from the NDR tv network that will be broadcasting it where they had to professionals, musician and singer, of wildly different ages and they gave the song an average of 9/10 and then people participating on twitter ans such like who gave it 5.8 Weighted average was 7,15 or 7.25 but I can see this easily happening in the final, the juries will probably understand how good it is, televote will split between lovers and haters hardcore fans being more haters and the audience at large more open-minded. Boring is not something you can call it so I'm predicting 11th and wishing for a 1st. I'm also predicting a 7th in the semifinal so I hope at least there's enough good taste left to let this make it past that stage. Portugal as about as much chances of winning the ESC ever as Sweden has of being outside the top 10 in the final regardless of what they send (Good, Bad and Ugly - much the same that Portugal does but have you seen a map? Portugal is further west than the whole of Ireland and has just one some years stingy some not neighbour. If we were Australia now, lack of neighbourly vote/diaspora vote wouldn't matter at all, is there anyone who doesn't love the fact that Australia is by far the best non-European country in Esc and doesn't really have enemies being so far away. Personally I never understood why Eurovision extends to Morocco, Lebanon, Cyprus or the shores of the Russian pacific. Why Armenia and Cyprus but not Kyrgyzstan or Jordan? Are they not completely in Asia? I'm hoping for the day either the US or Brazil or Canada get interested and find a way in and no European country will ever win again, not a bad thing either considering the sameness of all this diversity and the fact that the most memorable songs are Jazzy or Country or attempts at Soul and Funk or pure pop). Too late to delete all of that sorry, it's past 11 in the morning and I've spent 3 hours addicted to your channel. Thanks, TC, Ciao (Finland, I was forgetting it) Finland, Belgium, The Netherlands and in a different league Portugal were, still are (but I fear for Belgium, I fear because she seems kind of scared..or wooden and this is not really about the songs it's TV it's about things exploding outrageous costumes and billions of MWh of light in all shades all over stage and audience - the NL might do well, Finland will have to qualify and it's too good for me to take that for granted, Belgium could easily crash & burn - hope not and so could Portugal but, I hope, at least in the final) definitely my favourites. Still are. I even like both the German song and the UK - G'Weekend to y'all, have fun!

    I wonder if she's interested in entering Festival de Cancao (?) next year? I mean, she looks cool and many people seem to like her.

    So lovely interview again! I can't bear any more love - seriously, who to be in my top 5 or 10?!... I'm already totally melting and out of focus who to love mostly (after Bulgaria, of course ;)))

    Adoro-te Luisa, és um espetáculo! Tu e o teu irmão foram as estrelas mais brilhantes que alguma vez passaram pela Eurovisão. Muitos sucessos para as vossas carreiras.

    on an unrelated note, I wonder why Luísa wasn't put with a family in southeastern Massachusetts during her exchange program? she would have fit right in! We're all Portuguese here!
