I agree with Bernardo. Catarina, Sílvia and Filomena are the best for the job actually in RTP and it was impossible not to take that opportunity with Daniela. Not a question of gender.

I've been based in Aldgate Campus since 2012 but was on Holloway Road for 11 year before that. Didn't know about Iberia but will definitely check it out as there was a Georgian restaurant below my apartment on Maidan, Kyiv in May and I just loved the food in there!

It's really really REALLY good. These 4 Women are going to slay and I'm thrilled that it isn't going to be a 2015 snooze-fest (with the exception of Conchita obviously) and with Daniela and Filomena you can already hear the cop jokes from a mile away, move over, Petra and Mans and Take a seat, Anke and Stefan there are some new bitches on the ESC scene an they are not playing.
PS: I bet Bernardo has hooked you all up with accommodation in Lisbon. (Lucky!!)

I'll start off by saying they can't fail to be better than last year's hosts!
One of you touched on a very important but little mentioned fact. These four ladies can only speak what the script writers write. How many times over the years have we had competent hosts who speak English very well (it's important so let's not deny it), delivering a second rate script.
One last point, the only people who are truly prepared for hosting ESC are those that have already done it (Petra Mede). Where else does a TV presenter work in front of a live audience of 20,000 plus and a TV audience of over 180 million! It's a daunting prospect.
Catarina Furtado, as well as a television presenter with many years of experience, is a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since 2000.
Good choice specially Silvia and Filomena! Daniela will bring glamour to eurovision. Not so sure about Catarina and her english but she's so nice and professional that everything will be great. Can't wait 'till may comes!!
theese hosts all seems to have great potential, im really happy with this, but hope they split it up cause 4 hosts at once may be a bit messy, also the whole non diversity talk is stupid, i think charisma, presence and personality are more important than how diverse they are

I like the choice and think they're all beautiful women but how exactly are they diverse? I mean obviously they are going to be different from one another. But they are all white Portuguese women, most likely
straight too, which isn't a bad thing, just hardly ''diverse''. Not at all more diverse than last year's hosts.
fasd fsdafds I think people obsess way to much with that, portugal just picked the 4 most potential hosts no matter who they were, compared to example austria 3 years ago who focused way to much on having a diverse hosting bunch which in the end resulted in some of the worst hosts of all time, if theyre good theyre good and i personally just feel theyre there to host a show not showcase how political correctness they are in diversity thinking back in portugal, they can focus on that in the postcards or interval acts instead

Daniela started her career in Portugal at a very young age. She moved into TVI soap operas but she also participated in many portuguese shows, like dance with me, hosted precisely by Silvia Alberto.

I honestly think we should not care about gender or ethnicity but solely on qualifications....and judge the choice by that too.
Anyway I didn't know any of them until now, but all of them seem to be perfect for eurovision, especially in that combination. I'm excited!
I never heard of Daniela before, and I'm sure many others either, so not sure if big Hollywood star" is a proper label, but thatdoesn't really matter in the end, all what I want is hosts able to entertain yet keep it classy, and I really hopw they all four can deliever it. Good luck girls!

Mai no miro el festival d'Eurovisió des dels anys 80, però per veure la femelleta més atractiva del món mediàtic, la DANIELA RUAH, faré un esforç i ho miraré.

We smile a lot no matter what (ask to Catarina😂✌️), we have no filter in our jokes (Filomenaaaaa!!! Yeah you girl 😎✌️) and if something goes too far, Catarina is there to display her 1000megawatt smile(distraction tactic She uses since the 90's and always worked just fine 😂), Sílvia Will push Filomena's ears to her level (what??? She is the fierce small cutie pie among the four 😂✌️) and Daniela just needs to stay there to translate the mess 🤣 kidding 😝
I don't care what gender a host is as long as they put on a good show. I am sure all the ladies are fabulous! But do we really need four? The last time we had four in 2015 it was honestly a car crash... I think it may be best to have two on the stage and two in the green room because having more than two for the voting would be very chaotic!
In a way it may balance out having four women host because from what I have gathered from National finals it looks like 2018 may be quite male heavy in terms of singers. We'll just have to wait and see ;)

I still wonder why everyone was salty about the Eurovision 2017 hosts because "OH IT ARE 3 WHITE MEN" and in 2018 it were 4 women and nobody said anything
Why is their so many dislikes, I love the choice of the hosts, though Ruah isn't too much of household name, especially in Portugal, I don't know but I'm not too sure NCIS Los Angeles is shown in Portugal, so I say the reason why not many Portuguese know about her, but I'm still happy with her and others choices as well
Daniela started her career in Portugal. She starred in a lot of soap operas and even hosted a tv show. :)
That could be due to the fact that they mention someone else, more than likely in the Portuguese credits of the show, instead of Ruah, or everyone else forgets she has ties to Portugal, though that's where she started her acting career.

Though there maybe a chance that not many people have FOX on their TV dishes in Portugal, which maybe the reason why not many people would watch it

I wouldn't really call Daniela Ruah a big Hollywood star because even though she is on NCIS: Los Angeles, I guarantee you that most Americans have absolutely no clue who she is. I'm not from Portugal so I don't know how well known she is over there.
Well, around 8 million people tune in each week to watch NCIS, so she's not exactly unknown.

I'm not saying that girls are humorless, but the last time we had 4 women as hosts, only one was super nice and she isn't even a woman. The point is although is girl power, most of the time their performance is sterile. So far, not excited.

In Europe, especially some countries like Portugal where Melting Pot is only in Lisbon and Porto the rest of the country doesn t see much diversity...
In Portugal , some people called her "ONU" cause she s composed of different ethnicities/nations ... which i believe is offended... i heard it in an interview... and she acted as very polite and laughed... but lets be honest noone wants to be called "UN" when you re a mixed person ...

No idea who is Daniela and why hosts are 4! That does not make sense! We want cheap Eurovision but instead with one, we go with four hosts 🤑 Why Portugal? 💩
br3menPT Hosts are paid, they are not volunteers 😉And hosting a big event is really expensive.
Three of them already work for RTP, so they get paid even without presenting this festival.
They receive additional bonuses above their paychecks. This is a time consuming task. Anyway, next year I expect 5 male hosts.
You don't know the terms of their contracts. Even if they get a bonus, it wouldn't be such a great amount of money. The reason why this is a cost-effective Eurovision is that Portugal already has all the infrastructures (which is the most expensive part). RTP's budget will be spent only on the show itself and they're mostly using their own human resources.

I don't want to disappoint you or hurt your feelings but in Portugal and all over Europe we also don't know much about your actresses a TV presenters.
They are some of the public television workers they will get their May wages weather they host the ESC or not. They are just doing what they are payed for.
