Definitely has Skitchin vibes.
Wel, Jeff Van Dyck did compose FIFA 95 so it will be have Skitchin vibes.
Its crazy how many samples are playing at the same time in these EA sports games
Dem sampled guitar and drums.
@@Oysterblade84 I would love to see how this kind of thing is done, like the technical side of the sound driver, getting around limitations of the console etc
@@TheLegendofRenegade I'm no expert infact I could be talking right out of my arse but I would imagine it's just a split DAC channel much like Ristar or Street Fighter II but much clearer? There's two samples playing at the same time, the guitar and the kick/snare drums. The orchestra hits seem to play in-between the sampled guitar parts.
@@Oysterblade84Yes, it is the DAC divided by software mixing and better programmed since it sounds much sharper than the Japanese games you mention, but it must be said, the Japanese did not care about the quality of the PCM, in that sense almost all the games of there they have a terrible PCM except for Treasure (In Dymanite Headdy and Alien Soldier) and Task Harrier EX.😊
If we have to applaud EA for anything, it was the way in which they were able to take advantage of the PCM capabilities in Genesis, in the 90s no developer (Not even Sega itself) made excellent use of PCM on the console like EA and it is best demonstrated in Skitchin ', using more than one channel per mix of software and on top of that they have a pretty decent quality.
EA made a good job, but was not the best use of the PCM. Search for the OSTs of 007 The Duel, T2 The Arcade Game and ALIEN 3. The OST of these games were made by the legendary MATT FURNISS. IMO, the best use of the PCM.
@@lmpaivaShaun Hollingworth (Who programmed the sound driver for Furniss) did a good job programming on the Z80 and DAC of the YM2612, of course I have heard the music from those games but it must be said that it was only from one PCM channel and mostly They are drums, EA goes further after being more than one PCM channel, it divides into 4 channels and obviously the quality of the PCM is also going down but the consistency especially of the guitars is what I put it on a technical level above the sound Krisalis driver, which if we come to that, GEMS is also at the same level as Krisalis in PCM samples.
@@alexisynthfm1988 Nice! After this explanation, I agree with you!
I'm not sure what I expected a soccer game's OST to sound like, but it sure as hell wasn't this! Maybe I'd actually watch the sport if they played rocking music like this during matches.
Been waiting to finally hear this on real hardware, this takes me back r 1994, when my former childhood friend got this for his Mega Drive and we’d play this for hours, so remember kids that FIFA wasn’t all fancy 3D graphics, it began on Sega when EA wasn’t a soulless corporation, what’s interesting about the sound driver used for this game, the original FIFA International Soccer and Skitchin and Cowch K Basketball, is that the driver was able to split the DAC into 4 channels Shiism why you’re able to hear multiple samples at once which is done through software.
I love the use of samples in this game.
This brings back memories. My dad used to flog this game when I was a kid. He would always play the league mode and would always get angry after so many weeks of being able to restore his game saves and then the cart would lose it's SRAM battery back-up and he'd have to start all over again.
Glad you're back Dustin and uploading regularly. I'm thinking of stopping uploading osts soon as personal life is getting in the way for me so it's good to have you back and putting as many up as you can.
the same would happen to me with the SRAM reset
Sounds like skitchin
That's good
Same composer and sound driver.
the FIFA games all had fantastic music. The only one I own is Fifa 97 and the music doesn't even really sound like Mega Drive/Genesis music. I played the hell out of it back then.
I'll keep that in mind
YEEEEAAAH I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
I kinda don't like sports games but this one will be dear and near to me forever. It was the only game my father fancied himself playing with his kids (besides Super Volleyball) and I'll love this one just because of that.
My dad used to play this all the time back in 1998, he'd be three games out from finishing the league and then the SRAM battery back-up would lose it's memory and he couldn't restore his game. It happened more than once too. Sometimes I think a password system would have been better as at least it's safer when a cart corruption happens.
The days before licensed soundtracks, where EA actually gave a shit about making music 😀
I hate it when games use licensed soundtracks COUGH=(Road Rash CD) because they cause copyright issues when trying to do a playthrough or uploading the soundtrack. Tailor-made soundtracks like this will always be better. Something original specifically made for a game.
@@Oysterblade84 but its YT's fault for having a terrible copyright system
@@gamemaster2192 That is true.
Don't you just love it when artists use an entire particular song from a 16-bit game (take this game's Title Theme for example) without remixing or making a soundalike-type song and uploading it into UA-cam's broken content ID system via exploiting it solely to make quick and easy money. I hate when that happens. First Ferdinand Jay Smith's iconic 1982 HBO theme and now Jeff Van Dyck's FIFA Soccer 95 OST.
Yeah, it's annoying. I wouldn't mind so much if it were the actual rights holders.
@@DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL Yeah.
I own all the Mega Drive FIFA games now and FIFA 95 is my favourite soundtrack out of all of them.
Fifa 95! Good times...
Not bad. Not bad at all.
I miss when Old EA was in the game.
Omg what were you cooking 🔥🔥🔥 thank you so much i remember requesting more EA games a few years ago thank uou so much
Good.
Jeff Dyck also composed great music for NFS.
My favorite Fifa soundtrack, hands down.
Please upload AWS Pro moves soccer OST
decent game with an out-of-this-world OST
Also, a great exclusive title for the Genesis.
Hey, DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL. You should definitely upload the entire soundtrack of Mega Man: The Wily Wars. Pretty please?
