for me as a german this is weird and frightening to look at. most people don't understand the left to right lane shift we have, but it's really making it more safe to drive. in germany it's strictly forbidden BY LAW to pass a car on their right lane (f.e. you drive in the middle lane, no matter if the right lane is free, someone else is not allowed to pass you on that right lane (exception is traffic jam and construction-obstructed lanes), they HAVE to shift to the lane left of you to overtake. what i'm trying to tell here is that this might look very cool (and it is), but for an unaware driver these are extremely dangerous situations, especially if they have to shift lanes to get to an exit. that's why the german autobahn and their strict rules work even with unlimited speed. TL,DR: Come to Germany and drive on the Autobahn if you want to drive fast. People wont get endangered here.
Well said brother , sometimes a fast car makes people think they are above the law , I no as I have a c7 rs6 and before you no it your at the speed limit , and having that much power makes you feel invincible.
Yeah, the problem is that ppl with slower cars don't switch lanes and they stay at the left. What should the hypercards do? Slow down from 250-300km/h to 80 and wait till the slow one finally realizes he is in the wrong lane? I totally agree with you, but the main problems are not the hypercars.
Németh Ádám yea I live in the uk , continuing speed cameras, speed humps, and slow ass old people , never have a chance to put you foot down anyway , your lucky living in Germany least you have the autobahn .

1:30 and that f --ing Honda City still cruising in the overtake lane "Cuz i ain't gonna give this LANE UP, NAH BROTHER". It is illegal in many countries.
The Honda City scene was actually in Taiwan. You can stay in the left lane just above speed limit, which is top out around 110+10(120)km/hr or 100+10(110)km/hr on highway. It is not illegal as long as you don't go below speed limit. The actual illegal ones are the super cars, speeding and dangerous driving.

It may be a paradox, but in these cases drivers who drive "slowly" in the left lane are the source of danger, not those who drive fast! Keep to the right lane, the left lane is only for overtaking, why is this so hard for many to understand?
There's a stretch of Autobahn between Nuremberg and Munich where Audi and BMW (inofficially) test their cars. Having lived and driven in Germany for many years I think I'm pretty good at getting out of the overtaking lanes so as not to hold up cars which can be doing incredible speeds. But I remember having a big shock when I was doing 260 kmh on the clock (about 160 mph) when I got flashed by an Audi. Most cars are restricted to 250 kmh by the electronics. In fact even if I hadn't seen the flashing headlights I would have noticed the car because of the sound of the driver dropping it two gears. There aren't as many accidents on the Autobahn as you would think. It's just that when there is an accident it tends to be carnage.
Ah the wonderful freedom of the German Autobahn, I wish we had these in the UK. I have to go on a track day to be able to enjoy unlimited speed (although I do love track days, but it would be so much more convenient to have an unrestricted Autobahn).
Once I driven bmw 540 from Edinburgh to Saint Petersburg. The only place I managed to max it was... in Russia. German autobahns either too busy or bumpy. Russian toll roads are very smooth, fully lit and no speedcams or police. I moved to Russia some years back and now I feel sorry for British petrolheads.
You cant drive so fast here in Germany because thay are so many idiots in the street!!!!😔 250kmh in the left side 120 in the middle and 90 in the right lane.... thats no good Mix👎
this might be a silly question but isn't there a rule that if you're not doing more than 200 you should stay out of the left or right lane, whichever if your fast lane?
German here. Not a stupid question at all! There are many misconceptions around the autobahn and the simple fact that you know about the different purposes of lanes shows that you have more knowledge about the topic than the average foreigner. Basicly, it's really simple. There is no speed recommendation specifically for each lane. We only have a target speed that applies to all lanes and says you should drive somewhere around 130 kmh (80 mph). You can drive a LOT faster or a little slower if you like to. Which speed you're choosing depends on traffic density, your capabilities, the cars capabilities, visibility (weather), terrain etc. That being said there are only two important rules that keep everyone safe. First one is that you have do drive on the right lane as long as there is not a car going slower than you occupying that lane. If there is a slower vehicle on the right lane, let's say a truck, you are allowed to switch to the next lane on your left and overtake the vehicle. This is the second important rule. You are only allowed to overtake vehicles on the left-hand side. So when a even faster car comes up behind you while you are overtaking on the middle lane it has to choose the left lane when it wants to drive past you. When both cars are past the slower vehicle they have to return to the right lane again. In reality it looks like this: Right lane is full of trucks and slower vehicles like Mobile Homes and stuff. 100kmh (60mph) or lower Middle lane is your average driver. Moms with kids or daily commuters. 130-160kmh (80-100mph) Left lane is for the fastest. Hard to put a label on. Young guys or Business men are common. 180kmh + ( 110mph +) Bottom line is no matter how fast you are, there is almost always someone going faster than you. I got overtaken several times going 240kmh (150mph). But the most impressive are the fly by's when you are going slow and there are people blasting full throttle on the left lane. It feels like you're not moving at all even if you're doing 130 kmh (80mph). Hard to explain though. Come to Germany and see it for yourself if you get the chance! Cheers!

In reality it looks like this:
Right lane is full of trucks and slower vehicles like Mobile Homes and stuff. 100kmh (60mph) or lower
Middle lane is your average driver. Moms with kids or daily commuters. 130-160kmh (80-100mph)
Left lane is for the fastest. Hard to put a label on. Young guys or Business men are common. 180kmh + ( 110mph +)
Bottom line is no matter how fast you are, there is almost always someone going faster than you.
I got overtaken several times going 240kmh (150mph). But the most impressive are the fly by's when you are going slow and there are people blasting full throttle on the left lane. It feels like you're not moving at all even if you're doing 130 kmh (80mph).
