This was so fun to watch this combo of watercolor and gouache. Your extra bits of darker green and yellow were certainly the finishing touches this needed. Let's do more like this with other flowers. I LOVED THE BRIGHTNESS. Great job, Emma!!!
Wow Emma, what a beautiful painting! The red is so bright and so pretty! I love this painting! ❤The Filbert brush sure does perfect petals for the flowers. Look forward to more of your exciting flower paintings! Thank you. Helene
So beautiful! I’ve been integrating gouache with my watercolor and love how it highlights the watercolor. I gave this one a try. I love how you always say things like, “I don’t know what I’m doing,” “just go with it,” “we’re having fun,” “let’s try …”!
I’m so intrigued by gouache but not working with it. Just watching others paint with it. But here just using it a little to highlight might be a way to start. Thanks Emma! Hope little Myles is doing better.
Emma! I don't know how you do it! You swing the brush twice and an amazing flower is created. I can't even paint a poppy seen from the side ... Landscapes and animals, pretty good (sometimes) but my roses always look like onions. Your poppies are beautiful.
Love this bigger floral especially the Winsor Red and other vibrant colors!!! Fantastic, and to think you used your large oval brush! Turned out beautifully... and a thanks to Jenna Rainey for the inspiration! Love ❤️ her channel also! Stay well, hugs to your little guys blessings to your family, with love from a California Gramma ❤️
This is beautiful! I watch Jenna Rainey also. You definitely learned from her but made it your own style. So relaxing and inspirational to watch you paint!
I LOVED THIS!!! I’m so excited to use this brush more! Also, I’ve seen other artists use guache, and I think you need to use more water. The consistency has to be “soupy”.
I love how I'm seeing more gouache in your art. It looks great. I'm just getting into it myself. I love watercolor but it's just not giving me the results I want. I'm really interested in doing insect botanical art with gouache although I'm sure I'll never achieve the realism you can with watercolor. Patiently awaiting my new 18 set of Holbein artist's gouache to get here.
Dude, I JUST bought 18x24in paper and a tripod and NOW you got me shopping for FILBERTS bc all of you guys are using them. I don't have enough money for this LOL
Love this! I have your brush set, my new favorite brushes! But I don’t really use the oval. This was sooooo helpful to show what can be done with that brush, cuz I was really at a loss on what to do with it!

Gorgeous! The gouache really added the perfect finishing touch and dimension
The bright colors do give a lift to the spirit! Please don’t be so hard on yourself, enjoy your beautiful Sons, husband and talent!

Wow. You sound so happy and relaxed. Love these poppies!!
I loved it as I have been following Jenna Rainey too. I especially loved how much you were enjoying the experience and the vibrant colors!
It always amazes me how trying to be “imperfect” with watercolor can often result in the most beautiful creations!
I love the centers of your folwers even before you add the stamines
I'm having trouble trying to paint a poppy and this is just what I needed. Thank you Emma
Love you’re adventurous spirit!! That was fun to watch. I’m inspired!! Thanks.
It’s a gorgeous painting 💕

Love this Emma! The gouache is so effective for adding this details and not disappearing into the background - supergood!
I love this. I also love the faint sound of Noah in the background! Don’t sweat it enjoy being a working mom! ❤️❤️❤️

What kind of art is hanging in your house? :)
Those are very beautiful flowers, but... those really aren't poppies.
Play music!!! Blah blah blah
Was your intention to be rude?
