First of all, that wasn’t a quip. Vance is the furthest thing from witty. He hurls denigrating insults around because that’s the kind of person he is. Secondly, the “substantive” point he doubled-down on was that childless women should have less of a say in how our country is run because they aren’t invested in it, which is highly assumptive and judgmental. Lastly, she may choose to be under the thumb of a disparaging misogynist, but most women in the US won’t tolerate that behavior, nor will we vote for that.
