Congratulations you now know how to play the opening bars of "Hot For Teacher"!
You will also now cry about learning Bleed by Meshugga for like a year straight
Ginger Baker, all day
u read my mind!
Bro you stole my comment 😂
Too late
Bleed for Teacher.
BLEED
The main rudiment in BLEED! Yessir
Bleeeeedd
i thought this was a threat
Came here to see if someone already commented that. I'm not disapointed.
That was was the first thought had on this beat🤣🤣🤣
All the younger guys saying "bleed". Us older guys all like "Hot for Teacher".
EXACTLY
It’s more like ancient/middle aged/youngsters
Like Hot for teacher/bleed/desperado respectively 😂🫡
I actually thought Hot for Teacher before I thought Bleed, and I'm 29. Not sure if I count as a younger guy lol.
@@stephenhughes5156 I thought Desperado, then hot for teacher. And i didn’t even know about bleed and I’m 27. 😂 I want to see a real old timer mention some metalcore lol
I'm 45... Not sure where I sit but my drummer of choice as a kid starting out was Dave Lombardo. Couldn't get enough of his chops. Despite there being faster more technical guys now I still can't find anyone to match his ability to GROOVE at 200bpm.
BEAMS OF FIRE SWEEP THROUGH MY HEAD!!
Great excersise! Never thought on doing it between bass and floor tom!
It’s hella fun!
Indeed, it's also a rudiment that just never gets enough play.
"one of my favorite rudiments know as the BLEED"
No it’s not
@@ROB_LAW98Kbruh
That sounds like Alex Van Halen on "hot for teacher" ☝ 🥁
Yes, yes it does
Listen to bleed by meshuggah.
I was literally about to comment the same thing and saw yours lol
I FINALLY found my answer to play Bleed 😭
Yup! Just gotta do it with two feet!
I'm starting headbanging already.
MESHUGAAAAAHH 🤘🤘🤘
Meshgah what ???
@@Tinkolupo Meshuggah is a Swedish death metal band, and are commonly categorized as 'Djent'. Meshuggah are generally very progressive with their song writing and structure, and focus their music more on rhythm rather than melody. 'Bleed' is their most popular song, and the drum riff is almost exactly the same as thr video.
I like that simple layout, comfortable, and the sound is tight, not a rattle or anything. 👌
Thanks man!
Known as “the herta”, but to the rest of us with double kicks… the bleed riff
Thank you. 🙏 I only saw the "Bleed" and "Hot for Teacher" camps. I needed to find the "herta" camp, desperately.
light just switched on in my head. New Favorite! thanks 😊
That floor Tom tone is killer
Picking up That muffle was smart
Needed a dozen sticky mutes to get a comparable tone.
Just snag the Emad. It comes already assembled. Just make sure to get one that fits the floor tom hoop
Dude your limp independence and control is impeccable
I appreciate that! 💙
I'm pretty limp and independent myself, toss some of that praise over here
@@Paios LMAO
Every drumline kid:
👁️👄👁️
💀
HARE TUH?!
GREAT Mic work 👏 👍 👌
Spectacular 💣🥁🎶🤘
Whole kit sounds awesome. Snare, kick, toms........ love it
This is 🔥🔥🔥! Excellent playing, and great job of explaining/teaching something that is complicated.
Also, definitely a nice kit, but most people don’t understand that drums are just like any other instrument, it’s mostly the player that determines the sound. Knowing how to tune the drums and using the proper technique to hit them is a big part of it, so credit to you for having a great drum sound.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
This is 🔥🔥🔥 your playing is amazing.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great skill and great tones.
Reminds me of Hot for Teacher and the gallops in a lot of metal songs. Seems like it would be very satisfying to play.
Thank you so much!
@@paragondrums You're welcome! Looking forward to your next video ✌🏼
Never thought about using the herta between hands AND feet. Thanks for sharing the idea 👊
You’re welcome! It’s a fun one
This is DOPE 🤘🏿🔥💯
Thank you mate!
The snare sounds perfect
Add a diddle to the first 16th note on the right hand and you get the hybrid rudiment, a grandma. Makes hertas even more fun. Basically writes out like a right handed paradiddle with the last eighth note on the left hand.
That snare is perfect
Love the emad on the floor tom very inspirational
It’s a lot of fun!
Hahaha someone has picked up a thing or two from Meshugga! 👌💪
Bro moving around the kit like butter on bread 🤌💋
Sick AF💪🏾
Thanks dude!
That's essentially Bleed if you did that on the bass, then added a pulse note, and an a snare at the up beat.
Love the sound of your kit.
Thank you!
That’s courtesy of Evans! hydraulics and Emad 2
BRO! YOU'RE GOING OFF ON 🥁 🪘
Thanks mate! 🙏🏼
Kit sounds amazing. Love the emad.
Omg that is so cool rock on man!
Thank you!
You're talented man! Keep like rockin.
Your drum kit is amazing !🔥
Thank you!
Nah! It’s soulless 😅
@@SirBender rude and ignorant
I’ve been trying to figure out what this rudiment was for so long, thanks man!!
You’re welcome!
Badass actually!
Thanks!
Beams of flame sweep through my head
the way my mind went “HOT FOR TEACHER!!”
Easiest way to remember how the rhythm sounds is the “carol of the bells” intro
Hot for teacher.. Never heard it explained like this before... I just loved this short video, well done!
My dude has the red heads and really said, "nah not thick enough" and put a fucking bass drum head on a floor tom. You sir are a mad genius and must absolutely beat those drums hard!
this kit sounds so baller
That sounds so much like what Alex used for the intro to hot for teacher. Rudiments are everywhere lol 😆
They sure are!
Has a Vinnie Paul vibe. Kinda like 13 Steps to Nowhere
Cool! Beter watch out. Is how I leaned to call it :)
Buddy Rich used it with cross sticking over the toms. Nice as well.
Using a kick head for the floor tom...I've never seen that and it sounds awesome. I gotta try it out 🤘
It’s fun! Just be sure to use the emad that’s converted for the floor tom hoop
Love those red tom heads
Cold crank of an old Harley...
That kit sounds amazing Neil Peart uses those hertas sometimes
Thank you 🙏🏼
Well, not anymore
Thomas Hakke uses hertas "sometimes" as well
Nice. As a bass player with a tama drum kit in my living room I approve of this demo
Thanks for watching! 🙏🏼
this is beautiful
Sounds like Tomas Hacke doing bleed
😈
Indeed Tomas uses an Herta in that song
Wow, that was dope as fuck. Thanks.
This ride cymbal looks perfect for jazz
I agree! One of my favorites by Meinl
Thank you so much for this
Neil Peart's use of is my favourite !
Meshuggah bleed vibes
😉
I LOVE THIS 🥹I’ve been looking for a sick beat to play and I have fianaly found i! Amen 🙏
I guess I've been out of the game for a little too long because I didn't know there were red drum heads but yeah aesthetically that's pretty sick looking, as well as the toms sound nice and tight. Dig it
Thank you! Hydraulics have been around for a while, but the colors are relatively new I believe
Never thought to do hertas with kick, hell yeah
bro played bleed like we wouldnt notice lmaoooooo
So clean
When the teacher is really just showing off...
🤷🏼♀️
BEAAAAAAAMS OF FIRE SWEEP THROUGH MY HEAD
As everyone else, I've thought of bleed and hot for teacher while watching this
But when you started hitting that snare i caught major song for the dead vibes :D
This is how bleed was done but all kick drum. Love this example
Thanks for watching!
The Rev's drum solo in A7X Blinded in Chains
Dude, you WAIL! I am so jealous, damnit!
Thanks man! Just takes practice 🙏🏼
Everyone commenting 'Bleed' or 'Hot For Teacher' but for me hertas (with just hands at least) are Dave Grohl on 'No-one Knows' by QOTSA. Never thought about doing it with kick and tom, that's cool and will be giving it a go, cheers!
Not hartas, hertas. And for those of us from the golden days of drum and bugle corps, we’ve been playing these for decades. Decades.
Whether alternating between right foot/right hand (as in this video), playing them single drum, or ripping them out as part of drum line rudiments, hertas belong everywhere. I love hertas.
16th note triplets are universal and can be fit into any drum set or drum line application. Even Bleed by Meshuggah. Love Thomas Haake and his innovative approaches to the drum set.
Now, if you want to show me cheeses around the drum set or flam-a-ques on the set, snare, or tenors, that’s something special and cool. But sorry, hertas are basic and universal.
Keep drumming, y’all, and keep pushing the limits of what’s possible, in terms of rudiments, grooves, and rhythms. Apply hertas and rudiments to all you do. Just cause you’re a kit player, don’t forget the basics.
Much love!
sounds like BLACKEN THE CURSED SUN of lamb of god, that kind of lick / fill / rudiment is how chris adler uses that for the song
This is so cool!
I believe that is how Nicko of Iron Maiden playes without the use of a double peddle.
Sick
Thanks man!
I’ve always wanted to get my FT muffled to sound like a 2nd kick because I split rolls and rudiments between my right hand and foot.
Same here! This is the EMAD, but make sure to get one converted for a floor tom hoop.
Soo that's how Mario Duplantier stole my heart....
Great skills bro . Impressive
Thank you!
The first thing I taught myself when I w as a kid and it's in all my playing. Also doing the rhythm with a kick at the end is effective then connect this its a endless fill, never seems to find one. Sort of like a hemiola.
Bro your too good 👍👍
Dude that was so sick
Appreciate that!
I can taste that beat. 👌😏
Never heard of it. I will have to search for a chart, because I am unsure of the sticking.
It’s in the video… RL R L, RL R L
Sounds like my Harley when I kick start it😎
Sick I’m on my 2 grade on drum I recommend trinity grade book keep up the drumming
Solid kit bro
Thanks! TAMA ftw
Shredder!
Doing my best 🤘🏼
Very impressive and cool 😎 !!
Means a lot! Thanks for commenting!
That is so effin cool
New rh-kick rudiment to learn
Very clean. I like.
Thank you!
Thanks for the new beat
You’re welcome!
Memes are like bumper stickers.
Damn I have a lot to learn just started playing in Nov
Very cool, and your drums sound great!
Thank you!
Everyone waiting for the meshuggah cover like… 😯
Love the sound
Thank you!
How can i put my kit to sound like that
Great exercise ma bro! Thankyou 💛
You’re welcome! Enjoy!
