You have more chance of interviewing Jesus before getting that clown to sit with Trevor. This man has ten years under his belt backing up his commitment to democracy and running a sound economy.
So this statement saying you need to get the other guy in for a balanced view is nothing but a Zimbabwean way of thinking.

At the time Khama left office he had already been displaying significant reluctance to leave office. He also harbored the hope that he would remain the power behind the throne. The person who chose Khama as a compromise candidate to takeover the presidency, H.E. Mogae, has previously expressed extreme regret at choosing him in the first place 🤷

Ian is a victim of his superiority complex. This is a man who didn't want to be interviewed by private media in Botswana when he was president because he was too good for them, so he thought. He even went to the extent of banning government advertising in private media. So, talk about democratic credentials and sickining hypocrisy. It,s hilarious that he can sit in a foreign country and spout, endlessly, how Masisi has suddenly turned into a " disease" after working with him for so many years.
This fall out, between the two, initial worried some people, but it's largely ignored now. If Ian left the country because he is afraid of being poisoned , does he think he is safe in South Africa? As usual, Ian thinks he is too superior to be tried in Botswana in a court of law for his guns. And what does he need so many guns for anyway?
Listen to him talk about how he is going to lead opposition parties in Botswana for 2024 elections. This is self appointment, and thinks everyone is a child who should do as he says. He is out of touch with what is happening in Botswana opposition politics. If you peel off the layers, you see a man whose ego is deeply wounded and is trying to use opposition politicians to fight what is essentially a ruling party turf war. You can't run a political campaign on Masisi as the only issue and think you can win a general election.
He keeps on saying we Batswana this, Batswana that. How many Batswana are you speaking for? If we go by the last general election, he is speaking for a minority. His political party has got only three seats in parliament in his tribal area. He is delusional when he says he is going to lead opposition parties in next year's general election. He doesn't hold much clout in Botswana politics anymore ,the last general election has shown. He can make all the noise he wants in a foreign country but it's not going to affect the outcome of the next general election. He should not try and claim credit if Masisi loses. The law wants him to come and stand trial for his guns. The country has also recently learnt that a company run by his brothers has supplied Botswana defence force with defective army equipment and broken down vehicles, from the exclusive tenders they enjoyed for so many years to supply BDF with weapons. Masisi has stopped that corruption.
Ian talks about Debeers company as if it's a holy cow that should not be negotiated with. Masisi is the president and should be allowed to negotiate the way he sees fit. He is " human , if he makes a mistake", isn't he?
Ian is a messiah with clay feet and he is not going to walk on water as he would like some people to believe.

Trevor was paid to ask him such shallow questions. Come to Botswana and get it from us Batswana. This man and his family were corrupt and entitled to the resources of Botswana and Batswana. President Masisi saved us by getting rid of them. He talks about corruption when his middle name is corruption. He must stay in exile. We suffered under him for years. We feared his DIS, and freedom of speech was non-existent during his term. He must sit down and enjoy his money.

Ian has never had to listen to anyone. He is self centered.
What a pity. He has a strong sense of self entitlement and thinks the country belongs to his father and his family.
Anyone who opposed government was unpatriotic. When he left he came with all sorts of conditions. When he was unhappy, he became like a small child and left home.
