- As mentioned, the full video of me getting pulled over for speeding is being withheld as I may decide to argue it in court once the fine arrives by post...
The rest of the video was me visiting the beautiful part of the country that is West Kerry. I got to visit Dunmore head which is Ireland's most westerly point (on the mainland that is). It was also my last Photo Rally point for this year so I now have all 24 points :)

I've started turning off the start of video ad and just use a couple of manually placed mid-roll ads, means they shouldn't interrupt the flow and also means I don't have an ad every 4 min like YT seem to think is appropriate (which I don't)

Yeah the speeding ticket has annoyed me. I literally thought I was in an 80 zone as it's the only sign you can see after I pull off from being on the side of the road to change GoPro batteries. The cop was sitting behind the 80 sign looking into the village and caught me as I was building speed...
Whatever the outcome, I'll release the video eventually!

I'm going to wait for the FCPN to arrive in the post first (still hasn't so fingers crossed he never put through the ticket). If it does arrive I may bring the footage to my cousin who's a solicitor to see if it's worth fighting...if not I'll go ahead and take the points and show the footage then haha.

Yeah man, 2019 Rally feels so close. I think it's because 2020 has been a cluster fuck of a year haha!
Stunning drone footage. Perfect day for it. Never nice being pulled over, although I've never been stopped for speeding, yet. ;-) I know what you mean about it being annoying, but all he can go on is what he sees, and the speed that his display gives. A pain, but better to bite it and move on.

I do need to see what way UA-cam places them automatically as I don't want 4-5 ads in a video only 10 or 15 minutes long. If they end up doing that, I may try figure out how I can place them manually :)

Looks like quite the tour you did for the photo rally! Stellar drone footage (thought an ad was going to interrupt it, turned out to be just as drone footage was ending). Too bad getting caught out like that; one of my last tickets was up in PA, sped up too soon coming out of a construction zone, local cop waiting there. Sounds like it may be the same there, I learned from a small town cop years ago while on a cross-country trip that new speed limits don't start where you can SEE the sign, they start AT the sign, so it's a common trick for them to wait near the end of the lower-speed zone to catch those who go too soon.
It was really enjoyable! I might throw together a "best bits" video as I've got around 1.2TB worth of footage!

Yeah, that speeding fine sounds like a similar issue alright. It's really frustrating as there was no risk to anyone, the road was clear, it was building up to 80 and I was going 74... Once it's all settled I might put up the full video.
Hey Luke class video , was there myself and love the way u casually parked up alongside the seat , from my memory it was hard to even stand where u parked 😂was kinda waiting to see the bike fall into the Atlantic, unreal drone footage well done

Haha, yeah I really wanted a Photo beside that seat. Wasn't letting all the bloody cars get in my way :P The lad that arrived from Cashel asked did I need help getting the bike down haha! The drone is easy to fly there as it's just stunning from above!
Should've ripped the reg off the bike and ate it in front of him then just kept saying you're the Kerry Stig when asked for your name and address. Then just ridden off into the sunset. I love that bit of road after Inch beach, bloody incredible!
You can manually pick where the mid rolls go, and how many. SO do it that way if you're worried. From my perspective put them in and I can skip them or put on an adblock if I really want to :)
Fair play for not being a lot more angry about the speeding thing, knowing a bit more of the story has me still absolutely raging for you.
Absolutely class footage with the drone lad, how did you size it to get the black bars? They looked properly cinematic :)

Yeah, I hadn't ridden it in donkeys years man! Was so paranoid after getting caught speeding though, I was snailing it everywhere. Still am a small bit! Especially through villages. It really makes you realise HOW SLOW 50KMPH IS ESPECIALLY WHEN CARS ARE A FOOT AWAY FROM YOUR REAR TYRE.
I think I'll manually pick them, don't want UA-cam adding one every 30 seconds haha!
Ah I'm still raging alright but nothing in the post yet! Just need to wait and see! I use final cut pro and there's a build in effect called "letterbox" which just adds the black bars. There's like 4 present sizes then!

Yeah, the issue with appeal speeding fines here is that if you lose in court you get double the fines and double the points on the licence...

The adds don't bother me, if they help your channel and you can make some money then leave them. I was just looking at West Kerry on google earth and it looks stunning, would love to ride on that coastal road someday. Cheers Luke.

Ah all of the West of Kerry is a great spot! Proud to be from Kerry so I am haha! If you ever make it over here I'd love to bring you along and show you some of the highlights!
I was there three weeks ago. Did the inch beach gap of dunloe Dingle and Killarney national park. Love the Atlantic way. If agree Kerry is the best county in Ireland

I also thought I was in an 80 zone as that's the first sign I could see when I pulled out after pulling over myself... Ah well...

@@LuckyLukeRides ah no, its not that bad just restricted to your own county (which kinda puts the rally out of bounds), no visitors from other counties, gardaí out patrolling the bypass out of the town and such.
That road to Inch along the coast is gorgeous, usually get to ride it once a year, not this year unfortuantely...
Dunno if you've started colour correcting or messing with camera settings but the footage looks great lad. Your drone game is only getting better and better btw.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the cop knew exactly what he was doing sitting by the 80 sign and judges give not a fuck about what you thought the speed was. If the copper gets up and says he got you at 70kph on the gun, the judge will point out you were 40% over the speed limit etc. Anyway, think about it, you might get lucky, if the cop gets his quota and is reviewing his paperwork and you were sound/held your hand up etc. he might write it off, has happened to me a couple times.
On the ads, you need to be careful, I was watching a 12 min video the other day, it started with 2 ads, then 4 mins in, unskippable ad, then at 8 mins ANOTHER ad, completely ruined the flow of the video for me and I actually click off in frustration.

Yeah that's very true about the guard... Black & white, I was doing 74 in a 50. Whether or not I meant it etc. won't matter to a judge if they really want to do me on it. Nothing in the post yet so hopefully he either forgets or has his quota etc. I did hold my hand up & was apologetic to him. He had a bit of a discussion on bald tyres but I think he realised bike tyres have a much lower thread depth haha. My rear is fairly squared off since the Photo Rally with all the weight on the back tyre but I'm getting that replaced this weekend! I'll just have to wait and see!
Jesus, that's exactly what I'd be worried about with regards the ads. Nobody would suffer through that. I think I'll end up adding them manually, maybe 1 mid-roll ad at a natural break in the video!

End of a month is always a dangerous time for speeding and other road traffic checks. The figures are submitted monthly and if a guys figures for the month are low he/she will try to grab a few offences in the last few days of the month.
Crazy drone footage there man and yeah i got a 30 second skippidy after 5 seconds ad which i dont mind honestly and you should keep ads M on your videos to get some revenue out of the work you put into the videos👍

Just felt a bit hard done by as I genuinely didn't think I was speeding.
I'd take it on the wrist if I was caught flying through the village but I was building up speed to enter the 80 zone and he was waiting there haha.

To be honest I think the best way to do the rally is to not try to film it, or be very selective in what you film. There's just too much road involved and you end up getting swamped with footage to edit. I have o think 10 of the photo rally done and 8 of the Iron Butt done without a minute of footage of it and I find I'm enjoying not having the pressure of having to try to piece together a narrative or research 40 odd locations to be able to talk about them. Just enjoying the spin and the scenery etc. this time.
Yeah, I very much learned that this year. I have about 1.3 TB worth of footage!! I have no intentions of editing all of it, might just throw together some of my favourite roads! Enjoying the spin is 100 times more enjoyable! :)

Guard was doing his job. Catching a guy clearly breaking the speed limit by doing over 70 in a CLEAR 50 zone.
