Guys I think Eddy and Tony are obsessed with the number 2. Think about it. They’re two guys, with two videos discussing two playstation two games of the second installments (twos) of their franchises. Thank you 4 (2^2) listening 2 my theory
I was one of the QA testers for this game and many other platforms for the first two Harry Potter games. It was a summer job from uni and was so much fun. Biggest takeaway was that every platform had a different studio working on the game and the games were all distinctive and made the most of their own platforms. I think the first Harry Potter game on the Colour Gameboy was my favourite. The PC versions were good too, loved the gnome you could pick up and the noises it made.
the way they say "us" or "we" whenever one of them states an opinion really has that big twin energy lmao. Love seeing more videos on this channel tho, awesome stuff
Eddy, I really wish you had contacted me - a random subscriber - about this video because HP2 Chamber of Secrets for PC is one of my favorite games of all time purely out of nostalgia but also because it was so engaging and memorable with its mechanics and linear story progression under the cover of an open-world Hogwarts campus. I could talk hours about this game, the music, the gameplay, the goofy 2002 3D character models. It's all so great and still remains very different from the console ports and even MORE different from all the Harry Potter games that came out after Prisoner of Azkaban (another absolute banger), when EA basically turned them into shameless "Something Something: The Movie: The Game" entries in a very formulaic sequence of the same stuff. Legit can we talk over email about these games please? I'll even give you all my bertie botts beans (and that one Wizard Card that I know you havent found yet)...
WAIT ME TOO! I had no idea that other people were actually passionate about this game, too. It's the only video game I ever played through, multiple times.
@@maggiedk Totally. I must have played thru that game at least 20 times. It still holds up today and the 3rd game is no different. (Sorcerer's Stone is pretty dated tho, still innovative for the time, but frustrating with the controls like Eddy demonstrates here on ps2)
Well, a random subscriber is really one of the most important people to talk to before uploading any video on UA-cam specially if it's about HP2 The Chamber of Secrets (2002) So yeah, Burbacks, you really did one of the boys this way? UNACCEPTABLE
So in what ways is it different from the PS2 version? I played the PS2 version as a kid so I'm inclined to go in that direction for a revisit. Does the PC version have more content or just different content?
You know, it's pretty amazing seeing a ps2 game with orchestral music from a real orchestra! That didn't happen very much, especially to licensed games!
Hey Ebby and Yony, just wanted to say that I am really enjoying these Burback vids! The commentary between you guys is super entertaining. Excited to see what you guys are going to do next!
I never forgot this game, but I forgot how it made me feel. That is, until i watched this video. I was anywhere between 4-6 yrs old when I was really invested in it, so my only interests were flying around Hogwarts on a broomstick, catching and throwing the gnomes out of the garden, and rapid firing spells at Percy cause the sound he made cracked me up. The thing I was most interested in though, was sneaking around at night, trying not to get caught and running like hell when I eventually did. I was soaking in the nostalgia, until you guys put in the audio of the "hall monitor" actually saying the spell and casting it towards Harry. Just for a moment, with the combination of the startling music, the casting of the spell, and the waving of Harry's arms once the spell hit him, I felt like that kid again. It sounds a little weird, but just for half a second, I experienced the adrenaline, excitement and joy like it was back then and I was fully immersed. I even thought I needed to make it back to the painting/door at the bottom left of that room as quick as possible. Although it was a weird experience, it was a welcome one. You guys are great at what you do. Your content is nothing short of phenomenal! Thank you for unlocking a childhood memory (or feeling rather) that was experienced about 20 years ago :)
OH MY GOD, THANK YOU! I thought I was a stupid weirdo, because that shop scared the shit out of me as a kid, and even thinking about it now makes me feel anxious. If I went back to the game now, I would probably be fine, but it really did scare me so bad back then.
The pc Chamber of secrets is non ironacally one of my favorite games. It's so nostalgic and i love collecting all the wizard cards because as an artist i just like to admire how much work has been put into each card. It's nice to compare the Pc version which is so familiar to me with the PS2 version
I haven't played it in forever, but the PC version of this and to a lesser degree of The Philosopher's Stone were big parts of my childhood, and I absolutely loved them.
Thank you BBB's (BurBack Bros) for sharing your thoughts on this game! I've been playing through this on PS2 for the first time and it's been simply a blast exploring every nook and cranny of the map. I couldn't believe it when I arrived on the Hogwarts grounds that first night and realizing I had free reign to go down to the lake, the forbidden forest, and could enter the different classrooms in the castle- all while being yelled at by Ron to get my rump up to the Gryffindor common room :) So far I'm loving every minute of it
2:26 Yeah you know how in the books Harry was known for finding lost items for students! That's totally what they meant when they said Harry was a seeker in the books
This was my first Burback video, and I’m all in! Y’all are great, your rapport is great, it’s almost like y’all are brothers who grew up together! Subscribed!
Well I've already attended my Defense Against the Dark Arts Class on the third floor, subscribed to Burback, now I just have quidditch practice at the quidditch stadium and I can get my sleep time!
I have extreme nostalgia about the PC version because that's the one I played as a kid. I'd love to watch you play though that. Great video. Keep up the good work!
I genuinely enjoy your brotherly banter, more than anything. It's something I often share with close friends, but something I never get to share with my own little brother. 6 years apart and 6 years of hard drug use have separated us, beyond repair possibly. I'm struggling even now, to keep him afloat. My love to you brothers, for being brothers. The minor bickering, the elder brother seniority meme. It's what I wish I could have shared with mine. Thank you for allowing me, and us as a whole, to experience this life. ~ Mi casa, es su casa.
Yes, one of my favourite ever games. Just loved running around the school and flying around the grounds. I recently bought Philosopher’s Stone on PS2, as I missed out on it the first time around and it was based on PS2 Chamber of Secrets.
Great video. I have never played the game and never intend to, but I still really enjoyed the chemistry from you two. Reminds me a lot of me and my non-identical (no need to freak out, eddy) twin. You guys are great
Eddie idk if you announced this channel on your main channel, but you need to advertise it more because i just discovered it today; and you're my favorite youtuber so i feel like many people are probably unaware.
I remember only hearing the first 10seconds of the title screen's music for years. One day I booted up the game but went to do something else, so I heard the full track and it was as beautiful as Hagrid is big! It explains a lot that the guy behind this soundtrack was the one who did the music for Elder Scrolls.
Great video guys!! My parents had me as teenagers and this video just unlocked memories of how cool my mom was to me while playing this game! She’d beat every hard part for me. She doesn’t play video games much anymore- no time. So excuse me while I tear up and go share this video with her.
This video is fantastic guys! In the previous video I did feel that the interactions between you guys was a little awkward (because obviously it was Tony's first time recording his voice), but here it feels so natural. You guys get better every video it's great to see
I love how the Sorceror's Stone and Chamber of Secrets games (as well as a lot of the marketing for when those movies first came out) had the character designs that were a slightly strange, yet endearing amalgamation of the original book designs and the movie actors.
These videos are an absolute joy to watch, life is pretty stressful right now and it’s nice to go back to these games that remind me of a simpler time. Me and my Brother really bonded over the ratchet and clank games when we were younger
This was genuinely a great video! I also loved how you said "if there's one thing that you need in a good Harry Potter game, it's THIS" like 3 times lol
You guys should make a video on the Incredibles video game and/or the Open Season video game! Two of my favorite childhood movie video games of all time!!
Another great video! The back-and-forth commentary paired with sharp points and comedic moments is so unique, but so natural at the same time, I absolutely love it! Great work boys!
I've still got this and prisoner of azkaban (and the rest but it changed from the 4th onwards) but the only elusive one I never got was philosophers stone on PS2. I have philosophers stone and chamber of secrets on PS1 as well they are also great. Great source of memes.
Tony, Eddy, I absolutely love your guys content. I subscribed as soon as you announced it on the podcast (rip) and have enjoyed every video. Can't wait to see what else you and Tony put together for us!

I've watched this video more times than I can count, I love it so much. It captures absolutely everything I've felt about the game I've revisited yearly since I was about 7 years old, (I'm 21 now),, you two need to cover more games together!
This is a whole new style of video essay and im all here for it. You guys will quickly get a fan base independent of Eddy. Keep up the great work love ya
I mostly played the pc version as a kid, but I did play the PS2 version at one point. This game is one of my tops of all time. I probably played through it at least 10 times as a kid. I remember trying to speed run the game before I even knew what speed running was lol
My childhood friend and I took turns checking this game out as a computer game from our local library; we'd return it and the next day the other one would go pick it up. Thanks for the walk down memory lane! This was such a treat after an exhausting day
wtf UA-cam? Im subscribed and followed yet this video never showed up in my recommended. I didn't even realize it was out until checking Eddy's Twitter page. Im assuming Im not the only one given the low view count. How dare you silence the Burbs YT.
I wasn't sure about this channel at first (just that it might not be for me in terms of content) but having watched a few of your videos, I'm loving it! Tony is hilarious and your back and forth is fantastic. I love the effort that is put into making these videos visually entertaining as well as funny and informative. Great job, I look forward to watching future videos!
dude i cant believe you made this. When i was furloughed in 2020 i bought an ipad, installed some emulators, and played the gamecube version before realizing the version i grew up with was on ps1, the superior title imo
It's strangely comforting to see in the video and comment section that these mishmash of licensed games also made up other people's cherished childhood memories. As such, I take it Shrek Super Slam is next?
One thing I loved about this game was its serious attention to detail. When I first ended up in Borgin and Burkes near the start of the game, I wasn't sure what to do to progress the gameplay. I was running around the shop trying to find a pathway or an exit, but to no avail. I didn't even have internet access at the time to be able to go and look it up in an online walkthrough. I was totally stuck as to what to do next. So I opened up my HP & the CoS novel and read: “Harry looked quickly around and spotted a large black cabinet to his left; he shot inside it and pulled the doors to, leaving a small crack to peer through. Seconds later, a bell clanged, and Malfoy stepped into the shop.” Sure enough, when I went back to the game, I saw the large but previously inconspicuous black cabinet there on Harry's left. It had doors you could open, so I went inside, and got the cutscene where Malfoy comes into the shop 😄
It's funny because the story for the GBC version includes a handful of things that even the movie didn't have, like Peeves and the deathday party. (Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I just wanted to sound like I knew something lol) This is ALSO one of my fave games of all time, I looove the score
I hope they still read comments on videos like these, because I'd love to see them review the Prisoner of Azkaban game for the PS2. I feel like it is a big improvement on the Chamber of Secrets in terms of textures and mechanics. You also get to ride Buckbeak. That's just fun. It is my personal favorite Harry Potter game.
Its cool to see it emulated and displayed in HD, really shows how good the design of the game was when a classic game only needs a resolution upgrade to look awesome.
I came back to this game during lockdown (spring 2020) I was surprised at how much the prefects made me shit my pants with fear, even now I’m an ‘adult’

It might not drop until the last Fantastic Beast movie so brace yourself for a '23 release date 😬
I've watched this video more times than I can count, I love it so much. It captures absolutely everything I've felt about the game I've revisited yearly since I was about 7 years old, (I'm 21 now),, you two need to cover more games together!
It's here! Been looking forward to this since the streams!
This is a whole new style of video essay and im all here for it. You guys will quickly get a fan base independent of Eddy. Keep up the great work love ya
Percy looks like links tech tips
I mostly played the pc version as a kid, but I did play the PS2 version at one point. This game is one of my tops of all time. I probably played through it at least 10 times as a kid. I remember trying to speed run the game before I even knew what speed running was lol
I can't get over how cute you two are doing videos together it makes me wanna cry
Happy to see you at work Eddy as well as having a good time. Love the channel. Keep up the fantastic work
My childhood friend and I took turns checking this game out as a computer game from our local library; we'd return it and the next day the other one would go pick it up. Thanks for the walk down memory lane! This was such a treat after an exhausting day
I love Eddy and Tony’s dynamic so much, I could watch them talk about anything honestly
Love the new style of burback vids, you guys doing brotherly banter is super awesome and unique for a commentary
I'm glad Eddy and Tony are still out here making great content. Keep it up kings!
Make a Burback podcast. ,It's what the people want during these trying time.
It's strangely comforting to see in the video and comment section that these mishmash of licensed games also made up other people's cherished childhood memories.
As such, I take it Shrek Super Slam is next?
I already know I'm gonna love every video from this channel. You guys use the two person format so effectively
Can't get enough of the brotherly dynamic, great video loved it
Even the dedicated Quidditch game on PS2 slapped
Seconds later, a bell clanged, and Malfoy stepped into the shop.”
Sure enough, when I went back to the game, I saw the large but previously inconspicuous black cabinet there on Harry's left. It had doors you could open, so I went inside, and got the cutscene where Malfoy comes into the shop 😄
This and the Spider-Man 2 video are absolutely perfect
It's funny because the story for the GBC version includes a handful of things that even the movie didn't have, like Peeves and the deathday party. (Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I just wanted to sound like I knew something lol) This is ALSO one of my fave games of all time, I looove the score
Anyone else every play the full quidditch game? I put so many hours into it, was so good. Great vid once again btw Eduard and Toné!
Fucking loved that game
Spend one Christmas holiday playing it all day every day
Harry gets caught by prefect: *EVASIVE ARM CIRCLE MANEUVER
I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all but this game does actually look full of color and whimsy that I like.
I love the sibling energy throughout, but the "How dare you" at the end slayed me.
Its cool to see it emulated and displayed in HD, really shows how good the design of the game was when a classic game only needs a resolution upgrade to look awesome.
You two boys are a great combo and I wish this channel nothing but success
I loved this one. It really felt like the camp and charm of the early Potter stories come to life. Great memories
I came back to this game during lockdown (spring 2020) I was surprised at how much the prefects made me shit my pants with fear, even now I’m an ‘adult’
Early 2000s videogames are my personal favorite and this totally looks right up my alley, thanks for bringing it to light!
Playing Prisoners on PC with my brother is one of my fondest memories. Before I left for Uni we sat down and binged the Sly Cooper games and played Prisoners again for old times sake - all of those games still hold up!!
Absolutely play the PC game! I didn't realize how different it is!! There are amazing elements in the PC version it was my favorite as a kid and I've recently replayed it too!
Eddy and Tony, I just wanna say I'm proud of you bros. Keep up the great content.
Love y’all keep the juicy content flowing
