The Exton Witch House is located off Rt 100 near 113 in Exton Pa. This house, built in the 1800's, was said to belong to a family of witches. There use to be 4 grave stone located on the side of the house which is where they were buried but vandals have taken them. It was a cool but creepy place to be at as my camera face detection saw a face in one shot plus a had a bad video file where my lens was going nuts trying to focus.. Check it out guys - Розваги
i just hate people vandalizing old houses!!
Your music choice was creepy.... Perfect!!!
i wish people would not spray paint these houses :(
I agree
me too
jenn barrett james witches did it
Cant believe someone stole the head stones thats messed up. No matter how old it is thats someones resting place
Agreed
THE PICTURES THAT YOU TAKE ARE FANTASTIC AND POETIC!
Thank You!
If i had the needed funds. I would open this home back up and restore it to its original appearance and furnish it with proper period style furniture as much as possible. Regardless the home be haunted or not. At least then and maybe, IF the family still haunts that place....might bring them some peace of mind to know somebody cares enough. But thats just me ,lol ( i absolutely love old homes like this)
WWIIREBEL someone messages me not long ago who works for the business that owns this place. According to this person, they have no plans for the house at this time. Just trying to keep all the Vandals away from tearing into the place
so very sad that people have to keep destroying so old and beautiful a homestead :(
YEP sadly it will never stop.
what is this house near?? its right down the street from me!! id like to check it out.take some pics.
Darrel Cox It's on the same property that has the former West Pharmaceuticals lab, kinda near the Wyndham Garden Inn/Starbucks.
Excellent "walk through" of a non-walk-throughable house steeped in history. Great stills in this throughout and also FABULOUS scoring choices. I really enjoyed my stay here and I'm about to look at more of your works. Thanks for taking the time to make these vids for those of us who would be out there "doing" if we could!!
Thank You so much Carol. It great to hear from someone who isnt always expecting an inside video but understands this house does have great history!
I was reading all your posts, your brave to sleep in one of them. Man i could only imagine waking up from that dream. Thanks for sharing!
Steve, I really love this one. An eerie property with such haunting music! Keep it up!
+Grant Grindle Thank you !
I wanna just add 2cents lol
The house is linked to the underground railroad, the path to the house adds to that aswell as some historical backup. Now if this family was running that in their house wouldn't they be very secret and hush hush. that would 99% lead to oh them MF some witches lol. People considered anyone as a witch back then, they still burn "witches" in Africa today lol.
Those who have visited the barn on the property discovered it is actually another house; it has several bedrooms, a bathroom, and an attic.
The shack is probably the most interesting part of the property. In the shack, there is a tunnel that leads back to the well in the main house. The tunnel has some historical documentation linked to the Underground Railroad. It is now filled with debris and water.
The Witch House still stands today, with traces that it is undergoing renovations
I enjoyed your video. I could feel the energy you were referring to in the footage. Creepy music added to the video! Great job!
+Laura Lyn thank you
I used to work for the property management firm that is responsible for this house. Couple facts and a story. This house was stop on the underground railroad. There are sealed off tunnels that lead to a nearby restaurant. The township is in possession of the tombstones. I've seen them and they're too worn out to read. A family did live there in the 1970's, not sure when it was last inhabited. One October day around dusk; me and a couple of coworkers decided to eat our dinners on the front porch. The sound of heavy boots taking about 10 steps was heard inches from our backs. None of us said a word. We simultaneously stood up and promptly walked back to the office without a peep. Once safely inside we looked at each other wide-eyed saying what the fuck was that. That memory gives me chills to this day.
wow that is awesome! What does the inside look like
It's pretty well gutted. They started a restoration and took down most of the walls. There's a lot of new framework. It does look like they quit in the middle of the job. Rumor is the hauntings got too bad to keep a crew. But officially they say it's too much of a money pit to continue.
That is an outright lie. My company owns this building and you've never worked for them. Also, there's nowhere to walk back to that has anything to do with the management company since the other building that's on this property was rented out 5 years ago - when you supposedly worked there - and the management company was not in that building.
This isn't true either. My boss stops by every day to check on the property and no one has ever been scared away by anything that happens here. This is all bullshit.
Kimberly Rossi Lions Associates?
Ok I have been watching abandoned house videos for about a week now and this place creeps me out the most
Love this and the music you picked.
+segura2112 Thank you
Thank you so much for this great video. I drove passed this house almost every day, but didn’t know the history. They must have had a beautiful view atop that hill.
It's no surprise to me that this place is active in the paranormal sense. Stone homes absorb more energy than those made of wood, and water is believed by many native tribes to be an entry into the other side.
KristyRi Exactly! Video and audio tapes capture sounds and images on a film of special material that has been oxidized or rusted. Certain building materials, such as slate used in older castles and stone structures and iron nails used in many older buildings, have properties similar to that of the tapes. When a traumatic event occurs or a time of heightened emotions, these materials record the event for future playback.
Poeticriffraff er try useing a tape recorder with no input, new tape, then play back loud. heard this works but never tried it myself.
look up the Stone Tape Theory its pretty much what you're describing
would make a great B&B. The history and eerie beauty.
This must have been a glorious house in it's day . Just love the wrap around porch . Too bad you couldn't take us through the Attic of this old gem . I like the Black and White comparisons too . Thanks for uploading .
Thanks for taking me back home.
Okay, this is the third of your videos I've watched. Good job, I like seeing the details like webs, grafitti, etc. great shot inside that oven! Thank you for going out there for us!
What a waste of a home somebody could live in.The grounds around this home is beautiful. What a shame.Blessed Be...)0(
I love your videos! Thank you for sharing them. Also thank you for the nice music!
Louise Caudill Your welcome Louise. Thanks for watching
I was trying to use an iphone. I was able to read it on a lap top. Thanks. I have always loved exploring old houses. Especially the large old ones. Watching your videos is the next best thing to actually doing it myself. Keep up the good work.
I was a kid in the 70's, and there was quite a bit of urban blight in the city where I was raised. We enjoyed running through abandoned schools, houses, factories, breweries, and whatever else we could find. I think that house is intriguing. Hopefully, they will complete the renovation. Thanks for sharing--your video makes me want to explore old, abandoned things again. The only caveat would be possible arrest.
Love the architecture of these old houses I see them not in there present neglect but the beauty of their slope and plane imagining what they must have been, the constructional artistry of cornice and moulding Masonry so fine dovetailing grooves, of particular arches weight bearing seams display solid craft you don't see in modern work.thanks for posting
Cecelia Passarella Your welcome. That why I tend to stay with the older homes. More Unique. Thanks for watching
thank you for sharing this .. love the historic information you placed in your video. Makes it easier for people like me wanting to find out more information. :)
I bet it was a very pretty place at one time. Shame that it looks like that today, but I like the creepy part too...
i plan to revisit this one soon to see how it been in almost a year
Abandoned Steve Steve, please don't do this, or at least don't go inside, I have prior knowledge with Witches and Witch's Ghosts, and all I am ging to say is that in Tennessee or in Virginia where the majority of Witch Ghosts are, once you see them, they don't want anyone else to know (Which is why they corrupted your video file, and is also why you only got one small clip) Generally when people go on hunts for the Bell's Witch, they only get evidence of her doings, and not the Witch herself, although many people are rumored to have seen her. The second thing they do, is that if you find evidence of the witch, then it is a Omen to not come back, so PLEASE DON'T GO BACK!!! In Tennessee, we had a fellow from a paranormal society go out and go to the Bell Witch's cave, in which the man went missing that night, and was found 30 miles away from his car slaughtered (and yes, he went alone that night). History shows (and I assume that you are going alone in most of these videos) That the witches are less kind when you go alone, because there is less evidence that other people can pick up. That's why I am saying that if you go next time, you should bring a friend or something, because I know from my Local lore, and many other people's lore that Witches are some scary ass shit that you don't want to mess with. I am not talking about some Blair Witch project stuff here, I am talking about some REAL stuff here. Please Heed my message Steve.
Sincerely- Nate
Looks like it had a fire inside and a lot of vandalism. Other than that it seems like a waste of a Historic Property.
Pa is loaded with a lot of these places and a lot with cool and eerie history
Spooky place but sad too. Thanks for a well made video xx
Steve, great video, shots, and music. This place intrigued me so much. Such a shame that noone could have purchased this place and renovated it. The grounds are just beautiful with those nice size trees in the front yard. Really enjoyed this. Bobby
Ok I have never heard of this place til this video and I know it may sound crazy but I had a dream about this place about 5 yrs ago. I was locked up in the building w the chairs I was chained but I got lose and was hiding under that bridge but she found me and I woke up freaking out. Maybe I was there in a past life idk I just remember waking up checking my kids and I was wet not sweat but wet like a shower bc at the time it was raining in my dream. But love the pics and video.
sounds possible
Crystal Little that is scary
LMAO
I agree with ya. Wierd stuff what happening with my camera auto focus when I was there as I stated in my video.. I do almost all my stuff by myself and sometimes go with friends
I just discovered your videos! Creepy! WOW those trees...the land as creepy as the house. Thanks for posting.
I was in that house back in the late 90’s. I remember the graves. The head stones were there but were laid flat on the ground at the time. They were stone and about three inch thick. Oval top then straight to bottom. Typical style. They were positioned on the right side of the front wrap around porch the side where the triangle roof section is. My friends and I were able to gain access. Someone was sleeping in a room on the left side. They were not there at the time. A mattress and candles were there. We walked in and it was dark. We had flashlights and lighters. The staircase for the second floor is centrally positioned. Upstairs the bathroom I I remember had a 1950’s feel. Most of the stuff in the house was from that era it seemed. Lots of broken items from vandalism I imagined. It was creepy. Glad to have made it out alive. People can get seriously injured in abandoned buildings. Especially if no one knows your there. When we were kids and there cell phones did not exist. And no one new we were there. So if we got stuck we would still be there. That’s an eerie thought. Thanks for sharing this video and bringing back some memories.
This place looks like it was once a haven . Would love to see it restored to it's original condition . I love the columns and the surround porch . The land itself is alluring .
i have to go back and check up on this one. See if anything has been done to it
please post your return visit , would like to see it in another video .
will do
Thank Bobby. Glad you enjoyed it. I try and make a return visit in the near future
Interesting place..thanks for sharing Steve.
I really enjoyed the black and white footage and stills.
I liked that. Shame you couldn't go into the house; loved the music and the black and white scenes.
Yea i wish i could get inside but this was a hard one
Awesome video...Thanx for sharing....It's so sad that there are so many places like this + mansions just left + lonely....Poor house, it needs a cuddle....lol BTW...Excellent soundtrack....I'm well + truely creeped out now....SCARED!!! :'(
I'm sure it was very pretty in its day.
wow did not notice that actually. Thanks for bringing that up. I cant find much info on what happened here in the late 1900s
I live about 15 minutes from Exton, and have been on Pottstown Pike countless times, but I have never heard of this place
The flashing light effect is enough to set off an epileptic fit.
Love the shot of the ivy. Beautiful!
Virginia Dawn Thank You
awsome i found another good urban explorer, great vdeos, thanks for posting,i subscribe!
I really enjoyed your video. Such an interesting and disturbing story about it. It looked like it was definitely sealed up tight!! Did you happen to notice, what looked like a wooden cross, at around 1:18, on the side of the house over some bricks? I noticed it as soon as I started watching & went back to take another look. I could be wrong, but looked like one to me. Excellent video!! Thank you for sharing!! TC!!
Another great adventure! What a beautiful house still! I love the music you used. It added to the ominous look of the house! It's too bad that all those taggers had to deface the house. What a crime in itself. Were you not frightened beside seeing the face in your lense? I am so impressed with the top 20 list you have compiled! This house had an evil pretense to it. The history that you provided us with was very interesting. Thanks a million for making my late nights great nights! As always, thanks for your time and effort and allowing me to go on an adventure with you! This was fun!
Thank You so much. Sadly this house didnt make my top 20 b/c of no enter but it still was worth a video on my channel.
Yes definitely!
Thanks for posting that. Crazy History
I actually went to trade school about 2 mins down the road from this house, me and friends would go on our lunch break and play ball in the court right across the bridge. Since you've been there some of the windows have been opened allowing access, and let me tell you its damn creepy inside but still beautiful. You should go back and do an update and see if you can still get in
Nice filming . This house looks 1800s but there are alot of houses like this in my town and surrounding area that have signs out front listing them as 1700s .There is a house just 4 short blocks from my house that was built in 1717 with original windows and glass !
I want to see inside the house 😭. It's cool 😎 love the video
The " face " you have seen, though cool, was an illusion :). But i do find the tape issue interesting.. Wish we all could have seen it. ty for sharing!
Beautiful house...love the gabled roof...can imagine how peaceful it must have been to live there back in its day. Things feel so crowded and move too fast for me....guess I was born too late.
This house was beautiful at one time. Would love to know more history :0)
Another shame... I greatly appreciate that you do make the effort to get history on these places... I miss doing this type of stuff... My brother in law and I used to run around lower Michigan hunting down abandoned houses... One I will never forget because I scared the crap out of me and still does to this day... but we've never gotten the history on these places, simply run across them randomly...Again, love these videos...
Heidi Saily Thanks so much. The history is a big part of these places which is why i want to make sure it gets out there
Someone went to a great extent to keep people out of this place.
yea my older videos weren't phone friendly when it came to text but I am trying to fix that it my newer videos. Thank you for the kind words
Aloha Steve,
BTW You are an awesome photographer you should frame some of your photos and sell them in an art gallery on consignment
Thank you Jennifer
Glad you enjoyed and welcome. I got plenty more vids to come. Usually post new ones weekly
My friends and I were in an abandoned building one time and something attacked one of my friends. She started saying she was freezing-cold (even though it was in July), and when we left, she said her back was burning and felt like it was on fire. When we lifted her shirt, there were scratches all over her back, it looked like something had raked her back with something sharp.
While we were in there, a small pebble came out of nowhere and hit one of us in the face. It didn't injure the person, I think it was a warning to get out. After the pebble was thrown, was when my other friend complained of being cold and that her back was hurting her.
We never went back.
We didn't see anything, we didnt' hear anything (that I can recall, that is). We did feel cold spots, and we did get a feeling that something didn't want us in there and that it wanted us to leave immediately.
I'm not saying it was a ghost. I don't know what it was.
wow sounds like a scary experience for sure
if it is true what you say .... ghosts are unfriendly only in exceptional cases. something that does such things, such as along the back scratch .... I would say it was a demon
Jane Doe Very possible, although we didn't stick around to verify. A spirit strong enough to manifest itself physically is a spirit that's too strong for me! I do not believe in messing around with stuff like that, anyway. I believe there does exist a spirit world and there does exist evil spirits. Whether they are demon, or whatever, I don't know. I only know that I am not properly trained to deal with them and so I do not engage with them. I have never been so frightened - I don't know what it was, but you could feel it around us. You could feel it, without it being a solid object.
I'm sorry I just don't know how else to explain what happened. Terrifying, it was.
would love to see the inside of the house . also wonder what is inside the long shed. what was it used for.
very bizarre. Must of been neat to see. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful video. If you pause this on 3:15 right as the camera tries to click on what it senses, in the upper left corner is a greyish/greenish slab. It's in there I see them. Not one, but several.
i think these are rather shadowy and moss.
I can't seem to find this place on Google maps.
I've looked down the to the dead end on Gordan all the way to where it meets rt 100.
I'd love to photograph this place when I take my next trip to Philly. Is it demoed?
Thanks-
no driveway but maybe a long time ago. The small house does go underground to a tunnel which connects to the basement of the house.
Thank you cowgirl. From articles on the internet it says they were stolen. There are some older pictures on the net from the 90s that show them in the ground still.
Love the music...was creeping me out
I use to go here back in the 90s... great ton...
David Monk I am sure it was a lot different then?
awesome man. When did you go today? I was on the other side of the Franklin mint getting the other houses and saw a car parked by the old bridge. Not sure if it was you
I bet if you dug about you could still find relics of our long gone past. This place has such a historical vibe to it. 💕
great write up. I agree with you. Thanks for watching
very interesting. Thanks for pointing that out
So many wishes and so many places I would like to see. I have to be realistic here,
I will never be able to afford to go to tour Europe, I am not one of the rich and lucky
ones. However, taking a tour of this house, and so many others, that the US has to
offer, will help me enjoy all the history and hauntings that are simple US really has to offer. LOl!
Great video I"m sure its intresting inside too!
that would be pretty freaky. I will have to check back on this place and see if something open but those locks are pretty heavy duty
What was the building with the chairs meant for?
As a practicing Witch, not Wiccan, but just Witch, I would be very interested to visit and film this house and see if I can connect with the former occupants. I would like to see if they really were witches and if so, what their "feel" tells me about them. As soon as I can get up to PA, I will try and explore it first thing and I'll let you know what I find, if you're interested Steve! I am soooo addicted to this now lol!
Waow! Fantastic video. Thanks.
Terrible how someone just tries to burn this place down judging by the front door casement at the top. I wonder what the build date was on this house. It seemed to be built at a time of turmoil or unrest. I say that from the well being atached to the basement and the what seems to be powder-keg/coldstorage building. That 2 room round top is massive for a powder store. Would make for a premium wine cellar!! I'm sold on the place if they throw in the exorcism for free. That bead oven shown with the creepy music, would make a great wood burning pizza oven. Shall it be made Exton pizza and wine bar? Witch pizza would you like?
alibabafurball that is kids these days. They could care less. They think it ok since no one lives in it
I see your vision. I like it!
Steve, I believe you. When my sister passed away last January, there was all kinds of electronic device disturbances all around me for about a day and then through out this year at specific times that would only mean something to her and I. Not just my personal devices, but also of people who were around me. My sister and I would often keep in touch via our cell phones, texting, calling, email, facebook. It was like our connection when we would be apart from each other. I do believe spirits can affect our electronic devices.
yea i had that happen only once there which was odd
I am able to pick out faces in all kinds of places. My mind has some bizarre attraction to the pattern and can see it in the strangest places... that could have been what happened also. I noticed a "wolf/dog" like face where the ground meets the foundation just behind where the camera was focusing... it could have been that?? Or... a ghost! Your experience... so your choice of course!
These things are purely subjective in my opinion and only meant for you, not for other viewers to interpret or judge. It is one of those "you had to be there" situations.
I have been there and have wondered for a long time who keeps it in such good shape and sealed! Is it a relative of them or what. Very strange how someone pays the taxes and keeps it sealed and protected? I read somewhere that Mr Ferrel died from Asthama. There was nothing they could give you back then to help with that!
+Kinseydsp the owners do a good job of keep it locked up the best they can
wish you would of went all the way in the house....
VANESSA CASTILLO if i had an opening sure, but there was none
haha thank you very much! I am glad I am keeping you hooked!
Thanks for watching Celine!
House looks solid af wish thdy still built houses like that today
thats pretty crazy how it is still up after seeing signs of a fire. im surprised it hasnt collapsed yet.
+circarem Yea I am not sure how bad the fire really was
Too bad you couldn't get in.
I don't see the face you are talking about at the grave site. Am I just missing it??
Do you know if this place is still standing? I notice a lot of posts from years ago?
This home is now being renovated!!
Hey if you are ever in Kansas I would love to go with and check out some abandoned places here
I find it funny that most large abandoned houses are said to be haunted. I have been to a few haunted houses and don't believe there is such a thing.
I think the township or owner is doing something inside and is trying to keep the vandals out with the max protection to prevent their work from being destroyed?
I originally had it listed as 1700s but read many articles saying it was built in the 1800s. I wonder who correct!
Any information on the property/house who now owns it?..That would make a nice restoration project..Nice location too...
so do I. I been checking back to see if something is open
a couple years ago they re-built the porch but after that, nothing new happened to the place
