- Exploring Abandoned Restaurant and Inn - Haunted
I am back and with a new video of this abandoned Restaurant and Inn. Built in the mid 1700s as a house, this historical colonial provided years of life for families. In the 1800s, the house was redesigned and added on to. In the mid 1900s, the house was converted to a retirement home. IN the late 60s, it became a restaurant known as Deveraux's Fox Crest Inn. Then in the 80s, ownership was passed on and it was called Crier in the Country. Operating as a Banquet Hall, Restaurant, and Inn, Crier in the Country was a famous stop for local residents. One thing that made this place interesting was that it was very haunted. Workers reported many sightings, noises, and spirits in the building, especially on the third floor. It is said that these spirits are from two people who lived in the house in the late 1800s. During my visit, I just had that wierd vibe exploring this house. The feeling someone was watching me. Although I did not see anything or hear anything odd, it was still odd to walk through. The Restaurant closed its doors in 2007. From that time, the place sat vacant and decay set in. The building was badly vandalized. IN 2014, the township approved plans to put a Life care facility on the property. In 2017, demolition began and the entire place was torn down. Today, it is currently a plot of land waiting for development to start on the new Senior living home...

I am back. Sorry for the extremely long delay. Lot has been going on with my life which put my UA-cam videos on hold. No i didn't die, get hurt, or anything like that, just been super busy with my personal life.. I have been keeping up with the exploring community though. I have seen some fantastic videos of other explorers being put out. Some of them, the editing is amazing. For me though, I plan to keep my style. I have been active on my facebook and Instagram though so if you are not following them, please do so. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this new video
was so delighted to see a notification come through - welcome back!!!
Abandoned Steve Glad to see you back. Would like to have seen some of the items in the house get closer examination. Good video though!
Welcome back Steve!
Great to see you again Bro!!! It's always good to get your notifications on here....
SOOOOOO happy you're back, great video! :)
This was my grandfather's favorite restaurant. We ate with him here on it's last day in business. I came back to explore it a while after it was abandoned. It was pretty sad, but a lot like I remembered it. Sad to hear they finally pulled it down.
:)
so why did they close it
This is Joey and Lisa's dads old restaurant on Route 1 in Concordville, PA. Joe Deveraux Sr.
He took some pics of me and Lisa back in 1967 or 68 right at the front of the Inn there after kindergarden at Westtown-Thornbury School. Years later, Joey Jr. was killed in an auto accident as a backseat kpassenger just before his junior prom up on Boot and Burke Rds in Exton. I lost touch with Lisa after her marriage to Rich Culbertson back in the early 1980's. Its a real cry seeing how far gone the Fox Crest has gotten, I really cant watch it all Steve.
Thank so much for sharing your story. Yes the place went down hill fast
David Cassidy - sad that this video bought back such heartbreak. Must of been an amazing place
Diane Jones: It was a really well kept property back then. I remember facing the front entrance and looking thru the windows to the immediate right and seeing all the diff. tables set up w/ standing white napkins and cut glass water glasses. ALSO To end my memories on a positive note-- Less than 2 yrs. after Joey Jrs. passing, Mrs. Jackie D. ( Joe Srs. wife )had a baby daughter.
Fascinating. My grandfather was the owner when it was The Crier. I got chills at 6:38 seeing the ruins of his office
Awesome welcome back !!!
:)
Glad you're back :)

Hey abandoned Steve love your vids!
This was my dad's restaurant also we had wonderful memories we found you by accident but very grateful that we did. My mother still alive at 91 and got a kick out of seeing the building in such disarray
Yay!!!! glad to see you back!!! i hope you got lot of exploration with you to cover the whole missing year.. i think it was year right !!! that you went missing. oh btw.. awesome video..
Alright Steve welcome back again this was some place that basement at the end was right out of a Pennsylvania Chainsaw Massacre , lol great job !
Love the videos.....
Holy Shit. I remember seeing the other video of that before it was removed! From that time on, I built a really crappy version of that house on Minecraft (this was a couple years ago, so my building skills weren't exactly great) It was basically a concept for everything except for the front since I thought the shots weren't that great.
Now that I'm seeing this and that my skills have improved much more, this is inspiring me to recreate it in Minecraft again.
Sad to see it long gone now ;-;
This was my grandparents restaurant. If you show me a Minecraft version it will blow my fucking mind
@@cironicholas526 If I become inspired to recreate it in MC again, I will certainly do so and provide pics of the build.
Too bad it was torn down. I love history and I hate to see old buildings go to pot like this. We need to save them for future generations to enjoy.
nickev96, same here.
Glad to see you back, man. Was wondering what happened.
Glad your back as well, this place looks like a possible fixer upper
Certainly a place I would love to dine, You do a fine job, enjoy your videos a lot.
thank you
Excellent channel!
Fascinating.
Big and creepy! Would love one of those round tables for my house!
Yes, hopefully they salvaged those as they still looked to be in good shape as they just need a little cleaning.
Ate there many times in the 90's. Wife and I even explored having our wedding reception there. Can't say I ever experienced anything paranormal there. Sad to see the place go and ultimately get demolished.
Awesome! :)
Where the hell you been? Just kidding, was very happy to get notification. Yep,your one of the best, don't change a thing. Most excellent video!
You have some really good videos son. Its really fun to make these kind of videos and post for others to see as well. Good job mate!
:)
So glad you got to explore/film this place that no longer exists. Shame that it was let to decay after so many useful years to so many people. I can barely discern it's "Colonial" roots as it has been altered way too many times. The staircase looks original and possible a few fireplaces and the basement walls, but that's about it.
:)
Awesome
Just imagine being 14 yrs old in 1993 and you are a Bus Boy carrying a 50 Lb tray on your shoulder full of dirty plates and silverware down those stairs at least 20 times a night. Memories.
Some nights bus boys would clear $70, if not more, in 1993.
No one ever went upstairs, the staff claimed that there was an empty Rocking Chair; that’s all I remember; the Basement was just as creeping, as in Blair Witch Project creepy.
The place made the Best Food. I can't remember the family that owned it. I remember the Mother of the owner, she was an absolute force and was super awesome to work under. Looking back I have nothing back respect for the owners and staff that made that place work.
Someone unfortunately ate a part of my finger. I cut-off a significant part of my left ring finger when I was assisting the sous chef with cutting up fresh calamari. 😂 I bleed everywhere. The chef the following night taught me know to hold a knife 🔪 for preparing food. No one was going to 86 fresh calamari for a piece of human skin 😆.
That was my grandparent's restaurant, so I'm sure our paths crossed at some point (I would've been 7 back in 93). Jerry and Cissie Iannucci were the owners, and 30 years later you still remember how much of a force she was-- she still is, at 91, and my mom is the same way, it's hard to keep up! Jerry passed away about 8 years ago, but I think UA-cam still has the episode of History Channel's "Haunted History" he was on (s01e12). The ghost's name was Lydia, and I ended up naming my daughter after her. Funny you mentioned Blair Witch Project, as the actress from that was a server at they're other restaurant, The Town Crier in Upper Darby.
My mom showed your comment to Cissie and it made her day. Thanks!
Thanks, you worked for the Iannucci family. Cissie is the woman you were talking about. She got a kick out of your comment and the video
There's still blood stains on the Orgon keys that they can't get off and they used Bon Ami
Hello Steve if there's any way you can provide a provide a listing of locations I am looking for a property to repair when we renovate thank you
Well at 9:40-41 Steves favorite part the basement we see a ball of energy shoot by him and follows him all the way till the end . If you catch it freeze frame its like a lot of these possible spirits the image or face is always last part you see in other words its in the back so they are flying backwards or I believe these are transportation energy devices that carry spirit energy like a piggy back ride- just a thought. :D that entity followed Steve like He owed it $20 lol seriously from 10:30-50 approx. might be the best looks you will ever get up close at an anomaly of this kind, if you pause at 10:45 you might see it while 2 faces pop out on each side of the light that's a spirit car pool !
Now featuring Italian / American cuisine and on Tuesday nights ghost's eat free !
David trueslayor That would be a moth.
:)
Interesting find, yeah I was getting concerned about you...
Its a shame these places are torn down instead of utilized and restored but I can understand if it has become structurally unsafe over time and cost to repair outweighs rebuilding. When they're torn down because they're an eye sore and an empty field is left, thats what I hate.
:)
Holy Cow man where you been? Hope all has been alright.?
Michael
I did capture a light anomaly that is definitely a *spirit entity at **7:56* it shoots by your left side, it comes from the urinal that you are about to check out, maybe it sensed that ? Also an *Orb at **9:40**-41* comes from the room ahead as you turn to the right.
👍👍👍👍
oh shit this was right near my house how did i not know haha
that place was huge. I should have counted the tables
Steve -- I have always meant to ask You this question as I have been a bit of an antique glassware aficionado: " Have You or do You ever explore the immediate surrounding properties for their refuse dumps, and/ or privy's ?
google maps still shows it under the street view circa 2012.....
👍
Huge shame that place ended up like that.
Anymore explores? :)
i would have fixed it up lots of history there
Was this a Howard Johnson's?
Years ago I took a girlfriend there. The food was good though it was a bit overpriced. It definitely had a nice and cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. It's a shame that a nice place like that was left to decay.
It would have been nice to go eat there, and then... even after to explore/film! :)
:)
Ghosts 👻 of what was...
LOL i have the same micky mouse snapback^^
Damm shame i loved that place
I used to wash dishes there.
Glad you have good memories. My grandparents owned it. I'll tell my grandmother about your comment, it'll make her day
Dude.... how many homeless people have you found
I hate to see that with Grafitti
Shame it was demolished. Another piece of Delco history destroyed.
With all that glass on the floor, I hope your shoes have thick soles.
nice house I would live there
I hate vandals...
At 7:34 or 7:35 you can hear something say "STEVE".
Belle B I kind of heard that, too.
When you're making these videos are you wearing a mask?
If not i would, it's for your own safety.
I agree
Thumbs down , no voice or history .
This was my dad's restaurant also we had wonderful memories we found you by accident but very grateful that we did. My mother still alive at 91 and got a kick out of seeing the building in such disarray
