56:30 The initial design was the green was going to be more of a snakeskin pattern, but I quickly realized it wouldn't work, so I kept the basic pattern of a diamondback snake, incorporated it into the green. The idea was a rattle snake/gambling warpaint which might seem odd in retrospect but in my mind is a good match since las vegas is in the Mojave and gambling has terms such as snake eyes as well as calling someone a snake is synonymous with calling them a swindler or liar. I can see why people find it odd but in my brain it just fit the theming. Also I LOVE STICKERS THAT AREN'T EFFECTED BY RANDOM ORIENTATION. The pyro vest featured in this video is an old and outdated model, it has been remade into the "Burning Fashion" we have plans to make some minor edits to it for smissmas so it falls more in line with the Über-Wear which people seem to enjoy

Yeah, I have to agree with this. We aren't in 2011, 2012, or even 2013; there are already too many paintable hats and hair cosmetics for this to be a worthwhile fight. If someone wants to have a garish pink or lime loadout, they will do it regardless of whether or not new cosmetics are paintable. Rejecting hats or hair based on being paintable just punishes players who would use natural colors in a feeble attempt at preventing the inevitable. That said, body cosmetics with paint regions that impact team recognition are an issue and should continue to be to be focused on and criticized.

Any item he "makes" is a result of other workshoppers holding his hands through every step of the process, and essentially doing the work for him. The "best" of which has been valve made texture overlays on solid colors. The only reason why the emporium keeps him around is because he's a brown-nosing yes-man whose online presence is antithetical to mine. I've had multiple (5+) workshoppers approach me about him. All who've "worked" with him previously, who've asked me to do something about his behavior. Frankly I can't do anything other than say "no thanks, no interested" at this point. I advise workshoppers avoid him. He's only interested in a cut of your money, and riding your coattails for a self made for his UA-cam channel. He (continues) to make this very obvious.

Downvoting an item because it's paintable is really petty lmao, that Tesla item pretty clearly showed why it included dyable versions in the preview image (blonde, brown, white, and especially orange all look good on it). You can't pick and choose colors to exclude, so the decision came down to either letting people use goofy colors if they choose to or just sticking entirely to black.
I disagree with your standard of denying paint regions on items. You always say “You don’t have to paint it lime green!” as your reasoning, but that’s down to the taste of the person painting it. If you want to be able to paint an item any of the majority of fantastic faithful-artstyle colours, lime green is unfortunately part of the package. Denying an item from the game just because people want to paint it An Air of Debonair, or Muskelmann Brown, or Zephaniah’s Greed, just because you don’t like the 1% of paint colours, doesn’t that seem unfair?

I'm not going to fault you for this, since we don't interact personally, and I tend to be jokingly derisive or snarky in conversations with friends, many of which at this point have been screenshot and floated around. So peoples' conception of me/my intent isn't entirely unwarranted, though I do think it's misunderstood if you'd ever like to, I'd be glad to speak with you personally about the workshop, my design ethos, how I think others approach item creation, how the workshop shapes creators and how creators shape the workshop. I also think you'd be surprised how much I actually agree with you on, but I think we have fundamentally different prescriptions for how some of these problems ought to be approached and thought about. I think a mano e mano conversation - as a stream or otherwise - would be fruitful if you're willing, and if nothing else it could make interesting content. And to pre-empt any expectations or suspicions, I'd have no interest in bringing up any political subjects, purely talking art and design for TF2. Even if you're a divisive person, you're still a pretty prominent voice in the community, and I don't feel like anyone's had that sort of discussion with you yet because most people assume malintent - I think you're being a lot more earnest and good faith than others do. If you're down, I'd personally like to talk over voice more than text, because I feel like a lot of intent and tone is lost and it's very easy to assume a conversation is more adversarial than it is.
