YAAAASSS. Yes girl. My mom did that comparison thing to me too, and to this day, I don't care about any accomplish I have, I only care about what other people are doing. I will tear myself down to the point that I do not want to live anymore.
I can relate to things your parents say bothering you still in adulthood. My Dad used to say, “If you can’t do it right, don’t do it at all!” I really hate that expression. I’m 45 and I can still hear this in the back of my head when trying something new or beginning a project. If it isn’t perfect I often leave things undone or give up. This is something I’ve really been working on to not let perfection hold me back. Beautiful spread!
oof! yeah, they can be well meaning but things like that can really backfire, can't they? at least we're in this together! thank you dear, so glad you're here :)
Great video! I was lucky to avoid the comparison game but I see my daughter going through it in graduate school. I hear her speak about how everyone else can handle the studies and field placements with ease and have time for working out and fun things. I try very hard to convince her how great she’s doing and to enjoy these moments. I truly feel like so many only show or tell you the good things and not the struggles. Thank you for sharing!
I truly thought the typewriter was going to be a sticker from the video icon but holy heck!!! you're so talented i love this spread and the meaningful message it has :)
What a great spread for march. The cuttest typewriter of all time! There is just one and only, totally unique ❤️ YOU ❤️ Compare yourself with yourself. The new self with the former one and embrace the journey it took. Acknowledge yourself for the achievement and keep traveling ❤️ With every step you take you get closer to the core of the real you and letting go the things that are keeping you from it.
This is GORGEOUS!!! First video I’ve seen of your’s & I love it!!! PLEASE share when you decide what journal you find with heavier paper & less bleeding through-it drives me crazy & want to find a different one for next year too!!! TY!
I use an Archer and Olive journal. It's got really thick paper that will hold watercolor and there is zero ghosting. They're pricier, but I think it's very worth it. It also has bright white paper which I prefer to the cream color of the leuchtturm.
OMG!!! I just discovered your channel ( yeah.. bc i loved bullet journaling a lot ). And... you're really really talented. Love how you draw, how you write.. and ofc your sound!! Your sound's so smooth! Usually if I watch someone's video, I turn off the volume, and.. yeah!! Thanks for sharing!! Love😊✌❤❤❤❤❤
I just discovered your channel through Instagram, and oh my God I love it! Your art is so cute and inspiring. I really enjoyed your thoughts on comparison. I think it is a big flow we all have in this modern world. Keep going, love you! Kisses from France 🇫🇷😘
I totally relate to comparing with others..my parents brought me up in a similar fashion to what you talked about. Now a parent myself I constantly try to drill my daughter to be her own person and place no importance to what others think of her.. just wanted to say you're not alone.. I totally get it ❤
Such a gorgeous spread! I love these videos and I also really appreciate you speaking about the "comparison trap." I feel like I need the reminder and it's nice to hear it from you in such a thoughtful way! It's so hard to not compare when we are being constantly bombarded with versions of people who have curated themselves to appear exceptional. Thank you for this reminder, and I would love to see the quote page available as print!
Love the typewriter. I paste construction paper or tissue paper on the other side of pages that bleed through and then write on top of it. It gives the page a collage effect and allows me to salvage the other side.
That typewriter is amazing!! I love this spread so much!! I’m sorry that you have the comparison issue... I totally know what you mean... you are so talented! And you matter! 😁
Hi! Your typewriter stopped me in my scrolling. Love it and your type lettering! With age I can tell you, that you will overcome this "comparison". There is no reason for it in the first place. Your doing Great!
This came out so beautiful!! I love the theme and your quote. I'm also really bad about comparing myself to others. I think it's especially hard not to when you're trying to get started on UA-cam or grow an audience online.
On those pages that bleed through so much that you can't write you could try a collage! maybe cut some floral stuff out of a gardening magazine, then you can use some stationary over the top of your collage so that you can still write on the page! You could even find some vintage magazines to match your theme. Really wish I had seen this earlier in the month. 😢 But you can probably use the idea later in your journal if the bleeding fallout happens again. Best of journaling to you, Keep up the great videos💖🙌
First of all, you are so talented and I love this theme! Second, you should try an archer & olive notebook next year because they have really nice thick paper in their journals!
So cute! I really love your typewriter. And you’ve motivated me to keep it simpler with the BuJo this year. I got into BuJo 2 years ago and started really simple. Just pen and paper lists and journal entries. Then it exploded into art journaling and constantly searching Pinterest for the best spreads to copy. I lost the functionality of the system. I thought I was getting bored of the BuJo system because I wasn’t getting anything done like I had use to and started branching out and bought a Hobonichi week’s planer to switch it up, but I realized BuJo wasn’t the problem. I even ended up ditching the Hobonichi 😬 🤷🏻♀️The problem was I wanted to be like everyone online with their pretty spreads. Thanks for making these videos that show you don’t need all the decoration to have a beautiful BuJo 🙌🏼💕
i love this video! your calming voice and eloquence never fail to impress me. it’s what separates you from other creators, along with your magnificent art. please keep doing you and grow at your own pace! lots of love 💗
You used my favorite colors! And I have an A5 travelers notebook from chick sparrow with the type writer etched on front and the words “my story” ... I’m not a drawer (at all) but I really wanna try to mimic your work today for a dashboard. 😬 thanks for the inspiration!
I've heard of ppl gluing two pages together when they mess up on a bujo spread....maybe try gluing 2 pages, to hide the ghosting from your quote? And I love your stickers. I keep trying to budget myself when it comes to journaling supplies but I keep finding amazing suppies lol 😆 (ugh the struggle lol)
Really enjoyed this one your art in lovely, love the typewriter! Also totally get where your coming from with the comparison game. It's a hard habit to break. I struggle daily.
Nice job!! I actually started using the $5 dot grid journals from Michaels. There are several different colors and it holds up well to the micron pens. I don’t use fountain pens or watercolors so not sure how it would actually hold up, but at $5 I’m sure it would be at least worth a try😉
You art is really beautiful, I love all the detail in the writing machine and your handwriting - amazing! My parents didn't compare me to anyone (they did other parent's mistakes ;) but I still have a problem with comparing myself to others. That's the internet era problem I think - we have access to soooo many people's work/life in a blink of an eye.
Omg ur spread is amazing! U are so talented! I also grew up with the comparison situation and yes it was with my cousins too! It definitely is something to outgrow and it's something I'm steering away from with my own babies. I have heard the Archer & Olive Bullet Journals have amazing paper quality! U should look into those!
I'd suggest pentalic or bondibook. Pentalic has really good paper, very little problem with ghosting. Bondibook has numbered pages and I don't know how it compares ghosting wise to lecturm.
Love your work. You're pretty awesome. So sweet you got real about your upbringing. I totally understand. I still feel that way in my 50's. On the flip side, I'm trying not to do that to my teenagers. As their mom, I prefer that they have higher standards... but it's more important that they feel inner peace and love themselves. xo
Double up your pages using dual sided tape. Tombow sells some that’s really good. If you’re not super anal about staying in chronological order with the page numbers then doubling up so you can’t see the bleed through would be a good way to combat your issue.
I am the oldest of 5 kids so my mom expects a lot from me as a daughter, sister and student which is sometimes exhausting. Though, i have never been compared to anyone else, I have been used as an example to my sisters. "[Sister's name] you should be morr lile your big sister. She is so successful..." And so on. But i try to tell my mom not to do that because I compare myself to others and it is the root of all my insecurities. Not everyone is the same and even though, she means well... You shouldnt pin your kids against each other
Hi. Love your March plan with me.. I wanted to ask you.. how many dots across and down for the calendar boxes? Thank you! I would like to make a spread like yours.
Hi Kimmy!! I have come around to medium nibs and I love them as much as my finer nibs now :) I have seen the new colors and they are very tempting... 😍
Thank you so much! Even though it’s not as perfect as a typewriter, I really love serif style fonts. It took lots of practice! I actually have a serif style handwriting worksheet in my shop if you’re interested! :)
Hello😊. Really enjoyed your video. You are very talented. Would you ever consider making typewriter die cuts? I was a medical transcriptionist my whole career and would love something like this for my planner.
Nice 👍🏽. Aren’t those markers for water coloring? The lettering I’ve seen done by a few people on IG. Also, won’t those markers bleed on the paper in the journal you’re using? (I have Tombow dual tip markers and loose dot grid paper for bullet journaling.)
yes, i think it could be used with water to great effect! i first discovered them through lettering as well, and i'm just starting to realize their potential for other things. it TOTALLY bleeds through the page--i'm considering a different notebook brand for next year!
thank you! it took over 3 hours, *however* it always takes longer to do anything when there's a camera to adjust, and it's in front of my face blocking some of my movement, and I am trying to keep the notebook perfectly still for a smooth timelapse--so many extra factors to think about when recording that it adds on a lot of time.
Love your videos!!! You are so talented and inspiring ❤️❤️ I just started my bullet journaling channel as well (but in my native language).. what camera do you use?
Beautiful! I hear ya about comparison. My mom still dues that to me... Comparing me to my brother. And I'm 58! 🤣 I've come to the conclusion that it never stops. Is that an Asian thing? Haha! Keep the great videos coming! You are unique!
YAAAASSS. Yes girl. My mom did that comparison thing to me too, and to this day, I don't care about any accomplish I have, I only care about what other people are doing. I will tear myself down to the point that I do not want to live anymore.
Archer & olive bullet journals are the best thickest paper I’ve ever used!!

Love the blue typewriter, so beautiful! ❤️
thank you so much!! xx
SHOCKED that this doesn't have more views or likes!! This is one of the most artistic monthly pages I've ever seen and I love it!
I truly thought the typewriter was going to be a sticker from the video icon but holy heck!!! you're so talented i love this spread and the meaningful message it has :)

Please make those art elements as stickers! They’re beautiful!
thats actually a great idea! I'd like to make cleaner versions of the typewriter and maybe do more fun colors :) Thank you for your kind words!
Betty beat me to it, I was going to suggest the same thing! ❤️❤️❤️
Love the typewriter. I paste construction paper or tissue paper on the other side of pages that bleed through and then write on top of it. It gives the page a collage effect and allows me to salvage the other side.
Just love your flowers 🌸! Thank you so much for sharing!
You’re definitely not alone with the reason behind your quote. I’m also one to experience this.
That typewriter is amazing!! I love this spread so much!! I’m sorry that you have the comparison issue... I totally know what you mean... you are so talented! And you matter! 😁
So pretty I must paint more with my tombow pens! Thank you for the inspiration 🌸
LOVE the typewriter!
Hi! Your typewriter stopped me in my scrolling. Love it and your type lettering!
With age I can tell you, that you will overcome this "comparison".
There is no reason for it in the first place. Your doing Great!
Love it, the quote page turned out great (in Feb, too!). Great idea with the typewriter and matching fonts. Thanks for sharing!
You don't have to compare with others 💕 You are THE BEST !!!~😍💓
The artwork is beautiful, especially living the typewriter
Beautiful march spread💙
I love the typewriter and the quote page, so beautiful 😍
This is my first time watch your channel and I absolutely loved what you spoke about within this video. Inspired me!
This came out so beautiful!! I love the theme and your quote. I'm also really bad about comparing myself to others. I think it's especially hard not to when you're trying to get started on UA-cam or grow an audience online.

this is such an adorable theme! love it!
Ah I love the type writer it's so cool
I like the typewriter. Very beautiful.
First of all, you are so talented and I love this theme! Second, you should try an archer & olive notebook next year because they have really nice thick paper in their journals!
I did also a typewritter theme this month but I kinda mix it with a minimalist design. I love it!
Seeing that typewriter at the start made me click the like button immediately! 💙 Lovely spreads you’ve got! ✨
So cute! I really love your typewriter. And you’ve motivated me to keep it simpler with the BuJo this year. I got into BuJo 2 years ago and started really simple. love it! the dingbats notebooks are really good for not bleeding through! they also are eco-friendly so win win! :)
Oh, I ended up with some of the same colors for my layout this month - love when that happens. Great detail work, esp on that typewriter!!!
Love this spread...the typewriter is GREAT...all the way...even the keys. ;)
thanks so much Susan! xx
I agree, I really love the keys... the imperfections give it this casual sketch feel that seems to work just right. Perfect would have been boring!
I love Leuchtturms and I don't want to switch, so I do all the extra artsy pieces on pages of thick paper and glue them into my notebook :)
Such a great idea! But I love using the dot grid as a lettering/drawing guide 😅
You used my favorite colors! And I have an A5 travelers notebook from chick sparrow with the type writer etched on front and the words “my story” ... I’m not a drawer (at all) but I really wanna try to mimic your work today for a dashboard. 😬 thanks for the inspiration!
this cover page is so beautiful😍
Just discovered your channel! I love how you write; your quote page font was beautiful and your everyday writing is gorgeous too! 😍
Absolutely gorgeous!
Your artwork is beautiful. Also diggin' the nails!
This is so refreshing 😍
Well said. And a very lovely bullet journal set up.
I'm new to the bujo game lol bt my lemome has great paper weight. Also you are super talented and the talk about comparison rang very true for me
This is so beautiful! Just found your channel and immediately fell in love with your artwork, editing, and message!
WOW!!! SO PRETTY!!
Really enjoyed this one your art in lovely, love the typewriter! Also totally get where your coming from with the comparison game. It's a hard habit to break. I struggle daily.
i like your chuckles!
Jamie Lim this made me chuckle ☺️

So beautiful!
Wow! You're so talented. Can you do a beginners bullet journal video?
So neat! Love it!
Adore the typewriter ... I concur ... can you make stickers of the typewriter and beautiful flowers ?
Love love loveeeeee! !!! 😍😍😍😍😍
This looks perfect and is so relaxing to watch
I'm in love with thissss!!!!
Beautiful! ♥️

Love the quote page 😍
Beautiful work! If interested,I found Hustle and Lemome that both have 120gsm paper
IT IS SO PRETTY 💙💙
I'd suggest pentalic or bondibook. Pentalic has really good paper, very little problem with ghosting. Bondibook has numbered pages and I don't know how it compares ghosting wise to lecturm.

Genius!
I love this
Beautiful 🥰😘
Love vintage typewriter/or camera too. Love your art work. ? where or what type kind of ruler are you or used to draw with?
Wow
I am the oldest of 5 kids so my mom expects a lot from me as a daughter, sister and student which is sometimes exhausting. Hi. Love your March plan with me.. I wanted to ask you.. how many dots across and down for the calendar boxes? Thank you! I would like to make a spread like yours.
Hi! It's 6 across, 7 down. :) Thank you!!
U have nice art 😊
Kaweco is my favorite! I actually prefer medium nibs. Have you seen the new colors! I'm excited!
Hi Kimmy!! I have come around to medium nibs and I love them as much as my finer nibs now :) I have seen the new colors and they are very tempting... 😍
How did you perfect this font??? I love the old type look, but can’t do it as beautifully as you!
Inspiring💞 beautiful😘 amazing💕💕💕
I miss your videos when you were journaling in your hobonichi and TN, are you still using them or you are only bullet journaling now?
Aww I still journal in my TN but I decided not to use Hobonichi this year! 💖
Nice 👍🏽. Aren’t those markers for water coloring? The lettering I’ve seen done by a few people on IG.

Lettering is amazing! Can you please write, how much time it actually took?) Speeding up might create unrealistic impression:)

Love your videos!!! You are so talented and inspiring ❤️❤️
I just started my bullet journaling channel as well (but in my native language).. what camera do you use?
You are soooo talented!! ( and I am pretty sure this comparing thing is and Asian thing my parents do it [hahahaha] )
♥️
But I do love your layout for this month
Beautiful! I hear ya about comparison. My mom still dues that to me... Comparing me to my brother. And I'm 58! 🤣 I've come to the conclusion that it never stops. Is that an Asian thing? Haha! Keep the great videos coming! You are unique!
ok but why are you so cuuuuuuuuute
😍😍😍
Please sell your quote page as a print!! I would love to buy it as a printable or as a piece you ship so I can hang it above my desk!!!
Is the whole comparing thing an Asian thing 😑 My parents did that a lot since we were little.
😭
