One of the bad parts of ship building, you need a ship to build off of, and you never get what you pay for it. I can definitely see the Defiant in this. I was trying to build the old school Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica. Sadly, Starfield doesn't do round shapes very well.
This was one of the more informative Starfield videos I've seen. Hiding the cockpit is a brilliant idea that never occurred to me. I refitted a couple of B and C class ships based on your design (hard to believe one of them used to be the nasty little Frontier). The main thing I changed was glitch-hiding the shield and using the Deimos docking module on the bottom so that the top of the ship is completely sleek, and also alleviates the need to access the docker with a ladder. Makes it look even better. Too bad there's no way I know of to attach a picture. Anyway, great job, and thank you!
Schrodinger III has some of the nicest beach front for making outposts. I found a weird shaped Island with a straight stretch of beach on it. It's near the equator on the other side of the planet from your outpost. You should check it out. The Island looks kinda like a large bird with spread wings swooping down on an angle. I literally spend weeks exploring shoreline on Schrodinger. I use my outpost by the sea as a retreat where I do most of my shipbuilding. I build up the ship builder vendor credits there so I can sell captured ships at a central location in the Galaxy. I also have a He3 outpost on a nearby moon in the same system.
I truly envy your ability to stay so organized and just build it all in order. Either you have a very good memory or you painstakingly created a script to use
Thanks for the feedback. Its the 2nd option. I design and do a mock build first, test the ship, then disassemble it and write down all the parts. I do a basic script, then record the video. I then do a full script and separate audio recording... Then edit it all together.... Probably not the most efficient way to do things. lol... But its what works for now. I would love to script and just record video and audio at once, but my computer's video card gets really noisy while playing (sounds like a vacuum cleaner at times), so I have to do the audio separately. Working on fixing that with a new computer at some point.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite designs I have done. The cockpit and weapons being hidden give it a sleek look. I would say update it with the empty habs and customize the habs to be a little more useful.
This definitely has that vibe. This actually started out with me trying to do a Cylon Raider from the original Battlestar Galactica show.. but you know, Starfield doesn't like round ships. Lol
As always, I love your videos, Scorpio. This one’s kind of giving me submarine vibes you know there’s no windows on the summary itself I really like that.
@@TeamScorpioRI I am kind of curious to see your take on a deimos battleship build. I really like the Valkyrie and the heavy cruiser the strong bow. I would really like to see a video of you building a battleship from Deimos.

Lol.. she can keep walking then. Now, if it was Andreja... well, I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating chips! Lol The bridge is glitched into the body, so yeah, the cockpit gets a little weird. It's not as bad the one on my Shroudterror build though.
The Cylon Raider? That was actually the inspiration behind this ship. I always loved the old version of the raider, where the weapons popped out of the wings. @TeamScorpioRI yea I feel a little dumb lol The only ship I honestly remember the name of is the viper. I have it and a few other of the old toys.. somewhere in boxes I have no clue where.
I’ve recently used this to make a vampire themed ship with black and red and named it the Sanguinaire due to the fact that there’s no access to any sunlight even in the bridge
@@alexandertheprotogen6180 possibly. I haven't played with mods too much on this game, but always willing to give things a go. What did you have in mind?
@@TeamScorpioRI well I was thinking of ships that stick with the DerreTech/ AvonTech (a ship per each mod no combining)I wanted to build ships designed around each mod but could never find a setup I liked

Nice build. I like the particular Habs you used, and their lay-out ✨ I would suggest moving the Docker to the other side (Engineering Bay) and having the Shield in its place. Having a ladder come down into an Engineering bay feels a bit more thematic than the kitchen 🙂
Not a bad idea. I may have to strip the ship down and see how that works. You are right that the ladder coming into the engineering bay makes more sense thematically.
Jumped in and tried that, and it does seem to flow better. I also ended up adding some more weapons hiding in the nose area.. So now its even more deadly. lol
You absolutely can... but you need a mod now to build it. You need to at least have the "Ship Building Tweaks" or the "Ship Part Merging Enabled" mod going. Darkstar would also take this to a whole different level.
Yesterday I made the dumbest ship ever. I wanted it to be as tall as possible/ as small as possible. You can imagine it now... It looks like a giraffe with cancer
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to realize you can hide weapons under the structural parts. I had my ships designed this way for a while now and love the clean look. This video makes me wonder if I could partially hide the bridge so I can still see but it still blends into the ship.
You can, kind of. In a previous design, I tried partially hiding the Ares bridge. It kind of worked, but ended up being too bulky for my taste. The other problem is the bigger bridges are 3 units across. It makes it a little hard to blend as the ship would then need to be either 3 or 5 units wide to keep the cockpit even. This ship is 4 units wide on the body because the cockpit is offset under the nose. What would be great is a more rounded bridge (like the Cabot) that has 2 hookpoints side by side to attach. That would open up some designs for sure. Maybe when the Creator Kit comes out, someone will mod something.

I really appreciate the parts listings and the timer.
Thanks! I figured it makes it easier for everyone to have it listed before, rather than pausing the video every few minutes to find the part.
