I've had sleep paralysis attacks too, always pinned down/threatened by an evil entity. Mouthing the name of Jesus, even if I can't cry aloud, immediately breaks the choke hold. Spiritual warfare. Make no mistake.
I wasn't even raised with the Bible or Christianity or Jesus. I was attacked during sleep paralysis and my last resort was to ask Jesus to help and He immediately diffused the evil the most evil entity in existence who was trying to possess me!
My parents taught us to recite Psalm 91 before bed and during times of threat or trouble. As did my mother's parents. Little did they know how perfectly fitting it is.
Praise God ! David announced to the demons , the one to crush them was coming!! That’s our Messiah Jesus!! !
Prayers and gratitude for the Heiser family in their painful loss of Michael. Thankfully, the loss is ultimately temporary.
Cant understand the secular Christian, simply because I was not a Christian until I was fully submerged into the reality of the spiritual existence beyond just the physical. When you learn the true Biblical cosmology, when you learn where you're really living, that the structure of what we call home is undoubtably intelligently designed and that the fabric of even our physical reality screams spiritual by nature, then you truly understand that reality is more spiritual than physical. water, fire, light, air, are all spiritual essences and spiritual by nature, not merely physical substance. Dreams, thoughts, prayers, etc spiritual. God is Spirit, his creation is spiritual. When you understand biblical cosmology, it really shows how spiritual this existence is and without a doubt sleep paralysis is spiritual and demonic. You couldn't convince me other wise because I am often attacked especially after I witness to someone. I rebuke them, because we have full authority thanks to Jesus.
True story, got home at 2am one Saturday night. A voice in my head says "a demon is waiting for you" . I got so freaked out by that thought I stayed in the living room with the TV and lights on until daylight. Finally went to sleep in my room. Had a strange dream and awoke and I couldn't move body or mouth! An invisible force was in the room. I didn't know what to do but I try to say and mutter "Jesus Christ". I can move my head after that. I say it again, without muttering "Jesus Christ" and boom! This demon is gone from my room! There is total peace in my room. The craziest thing I've ever experienced in my life!!!! So demons are literal, not something esoteric.
Psalm 91 is my personal protection prayer has been for over 40 years!
Jesus Christ is all through the Old Testament.
Testimony, my daughter was 11 when set free from sleep paralysis. She saw it was a demon and we prayed it off. When I told her the truth, she was so happy to be set free.
The first time I have experienced warfare I was 15. I opened the door for this through learning about the occult and participating.

I have found that the more I try become closer to God with prayer and not giving in to lustful acts and stopping my life on drugs the more Satan attacks and ups the anty.I am not scared any more of Satan as I know I am fully protected by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
when you wake up @4am with one of these things pinned to your back💀👹🔱, you are confronted with a question - if true evil exists (and it obviously does because it is pinned to my back dry humping my butt cheek..) - then true good must exist too.☝. after it finally went away I got on my knees and gave my life to God at age 33, after a life with minimal faith🙇..

In one of the books of Samuel, God sent a evil spirit to torment King Saul, David would play music to give relief to Saul. So this does tie in with what you said about David having songs for those attacked by evil spirits.
My Mom's favorite verse was Psalm 91 ... It's actually on her headstone. She always knew it was powerful, but I don't think she realized the power it held. 😔
Demons and unclean spirits are very real and extremely scary. I didn't believe in them, or God for that matter until after they came into my life. Jesus is the ONLY power against these things and had I not been such an ignorant and brainwashed secular atheist fool, my health and financial life would not have been ruined by them. However, the fact it led me to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was more than worth all of it.
