I’ve sewn in my basement for 50 years, so this was great to watch. I’m afraid living in Oklahoma is not real conducive for outdoor sewing. Between the tornadoes and heat my machine and supplies would either be in another state or melted😬

Such a brilliant reminder! I come from a large family and as a young girl in order to get away from my noisy siblings I’d take my sewing kit and jump on my bicycle and find a shady tree down the road somewhere. I’m all grown up and have no other people to contend with (said the introvert), however I do have a nice covered porch in the forest and should definitely be enjoying that change of pace. 😊🪡👗

I sew outside most of the late spring and during the summer. We bought a screened pop up shade tent and a heavy duty outdoor extension cord for my sewing machine. I’m totally set. We used to have a large flock of chickens but for the past two years we have only had one, I didn’t want her to be lonely when her cat is off napping (yes the cat belongs to the chicken, lol) I sew while our cat and chicken are doing their thing. It’s really nice and I always have plenty of light. 👍🏼👍🏼
I love hand sewing outside but with definitely now try taking my machine outside 😊
I been having this idea and then I found this video. Glad to know this is a thing. On a not so intensely sunny day I’m definitely going to set up shop in my back driveway

Wish I could do this, I do have an ok sized outdoor space but living in the Philippines, 30C is considered quite cold by the locals, I start sweating when my ac is set above 24C, and considering I’m at the tail end of the hot dry season we just passed weeks of temps regularly going into the 40+C. Now with the rainy season we get WET hot humidity, yay

It’s funny seeing this video , I moved my “ sewing office setup” to the dinning room table after having my 1st child & it’s right by the back door where I’ll prop it open when my mini is playing outside … it’s so nice and could never compare to your view nor set up ! Super exciting and what vibes 🫶🏼🐻🌲 I actually have an outlet out back so mabey I’ll try it lol my neighbors will think I’m mowing hopefully 😂
