Hello! I have a question, my family has Sámi roots and my great grandfather was in a Sámi registry in jokkmokk, my family chose to leave Sweden and I now live in North America. Were i to go to sapmi, who is allowed to wear a gakti? I understand that my Sámi roots are not strong but I admire the culture greatly, thank you

As long as you are Sami, you can wear gakti.

@@galaxystudios5822 Yes. Based on what you have written (above) you can label yourself as Sami and therefore, wear the Gakti.
